It's very interesting. I discovered progressive rock on my own eventually getting to Vangelis by the time I was about 14. My parents wouldn't let me study music and I ended up doing a lot of writing. I never heard these interviews but I ended up developing a philosophy of Life a lot like vangelis is describing. I'm just amazed by this full interview. I still ended up being a composer as well. In fact, I was posting what he said about the negative effect of rock and roll on society in a classical music forum just last week, and I stumbled upon this video and heard him come to my defense when others were arguing against me!
