Basically the same but 3050 has raytracing/dlss with more expensive price, at that price people would rather buy 2060 already

@@celtic2626 yes it would be a pretty big upgrade, i upgraded to the 1660 super from a rx 570 which is a bit stronger than the 470 and i saw about 20-40 fps increase depending on the game. If you wanna know for sure you can search on youtube "rx 470 vs gtx 1660 super" to watch some benchmark comparison of the two cards.

go for 3050 but if the price is 15 to 20% more on 1660S, I'll definitely go for 1660s to save some bucks
The 1660 super/1660 ti/2060 6GB/2060 8GB still great cards for actual 1080p games and some next.
Except that there is no "2060 8GB", only 6 and 12Gb variants.

The way you said it, it's as if they brought 2060 back by not only producing a 12Gb model, but also an 8Gb one, which clearly isn't the case. They're technically Not the same thing as they have different GPU dies. No one's speaking of the world ending, neither does anyone ridicule you, just be a tiny bit more precise and correct when commenting. The less people get perplexed, the better.

If we disregard the price then 3050 would be better because it has more vram and it has dlss support, it also has ray tracing but thats just a gimmick its not really usable in most games.
90% of the people complaining here about the 3050 don't have the card and not even tested it, but they speak like experts. What I can Say is, I own this card, I play all the games I have with ultra settings, no stutters, I don't care if there are any better gpus, I'm just glad with what I have since I got the perfect performance
You come in a comparison channel and you get upset that the gpu that you bought is getting 💩on. You come in videos like these before you buy a GPU not after, and not to convince yourself, that you made a good decision 😂😂😂.

RTX 3050 and GTX 1660 S and many others RTX and GTX is a waste of money in comparison with a RX 6600 because in performance is almost like RTX3060.
In Amd-favored games the 6600 is a tad ahead of 3060, in Nvidia-favored ones it's slower, in other neutral games they're neck-to-neck. So one could say it's a tie for the both of them. That is, until 3060's Dlss and especially RT features are taken into account

And even such difference comes from the settings he used which in some games handicapped the 1660S by exceeding its vram amount.

If u have about 350, buy rx 6600 xt. Its much more of a bang for the buck and better than 3050 by like 5-10 fps for the same price range.

Rtx 3050 is just re brand of gtx 1660 super. And price too high
They are different cards although performance is very similar
Play on highest graphical settings, textures included, and get your 1660S' 6Gb buffer exceeded as is seen in the video in a couple games. Then enable Dlss on the 3050, which was not used here once, in games that have it and get 1660S embarassed. That's not something you call a "rebrand", the term would make more sense if for example you spoke of 1650 GDDR5 and GDDR6 models. Now price is an other story.
Considering the TI is selling for $150 and is stronger than the super and equal to the 3050.. I wouldnt pay more than $200 for the 3050. That is the current market value for price to performance.

@@pastelmacaroon the states.. this is not necessarily the average price but the decent prices I've seen after looking consistently for a few weeks. Some people want $300 which is insane. You have to find the people that just want to move the card and he done with it.

Not that much stronger, 1660ti only 2-3% stronger than 1660super, same with 3050 only around 3-4% than 1660super but the price is not that good

I bought gtx 1660Super too but i prefer rtx 3050 because of the DLSS support. Its a critical technology for gaming performance. I don't get it why you didnt use DLSS btw.. 👎👎

You can still use fsr on the 1660 super, its not as good as dlss but hey its free performance boost provided by amd lol so no reason to not use it if you are really desperate for fps

FSR 2 is enough to compare but a very few games officially supports for FSR 2 "for now".
@@xardas7499 i know, that's what i meant when i said "its not as good as dlss" but hey everybody can use it so that's really good. For someone that has a gtx 1080 ti and plays on 1440p they can definitely use fsr to give more life to their card and of course fsr at a higher resolution than 1080p will look better. But also in general anyone with a weaker older gpu would benefit a lot from fsr. Also they have added or will be adding fsr 2.0 on quite a few games already so thats good news, you can go to ancient gameplay's youtube channel and check his community post, he posted a list there.

And? 960 outperforms 1050, just like GTX 660 outperforms 750 on about 35%. This is how Nvidia does things for a while, age is not a main factor which defines performance, x60 was always better than new gen x50
@@drainthis The RTX 3050 is literally the weakest RTX card, it's only saving factor is that it has 8 GB of VRAM. Why would NVIDIA release an RTX card that's weaker than the first RTX card they released 3 years ago? Besides if the VRAM is the issue let's not forget that the RTX 2060 just got a 12 GB variant. The RTX 3050 literally only exist to compete with AMD's RX 6500 XT.
@@laszlozsurka8991 they did not have a budget variant back in 20 series, so basically 3050 should’ve been an improvement if nVidia made a 2050. It has a newer architecture than 2060, newer tensor and RT cores and a bit more VRAM. I tested the 3050, and can obviously tell the ray tracing experience is far from pleasant, and at this point I personally find it as a rather fun addition than a practical thing. Talking about msrp (Which is just a silly number nowadays)3050 is 100$ less than 2060 (Not a surprise, x50 is a budget series) Newer does not always mean its better. At this point 2060 may be a better option. Hell, comparing it to 980ti, 3050, a 2022 RT card is 10% worse than a GPU released back in 2015. Shows how superior and long lasting x80 cards are.
@@drainthis Neither the architecture nor newer RT/Tensor cores do shit for it against 2060. It's always worse than it by a meaningful margin. As for Vram, for those who deem 6Gb too low for 1080p in 2022, which is not baseless so to speak, there's the freshly produced 2060 12Gb which is basically a 2060Super with more Vram but less bandwidth.
The 3050 is the replacement for the 1650 super. Not the 1660ti.
Rtx 3050 = 1660super with ray tracing and extra 2gb of VRAM.
Buy the 3050 if they are on the same price range, but if its 10% more expensive or more, go for the 1660super
Not even mentioning Dlss which is a crucial game-changing upscaling technology completely absent on the 1660Super? Okay. The "ray tracing" kind of thing is not even worth listing as it inherently has no use on the 3050. You can technically enable RT on the 1660S too, not to say that it'd be even remotely playable. But the additional memory and Dlss is precisely what makes 3050 stand out from the GTX cards.

The best is the 1660, much cheaper than the 1660 Super ( and almost half the price of a 3050) and you overclock the memory and the core and it gives you 10% more performance (minimum), turning into a 1660 Super.
or u get a 1660 super and do the same overclocking.

rx 3050 = gtx 1660 ti
In Vram-bound scenarios where 6Gb don't quite cut it, which in certain games is a possibility even at 1080p, the 3050 would outdo the Ti as well. Not mentioning Dlss, or lack thereof on the GTX.
