    • @PoppyHillDesigns
      @PoppyHillDesigns  2 роки тому +1

      You can wait until everything is cool before removing the wrap, I haven't tried it, but I would probably reduce the bake time by a minute or two since the sublimation process would continue for a while as it cools down. I'm thinking about doing a tutorial on this as I've had a few other people ask.

      It's up to you, you can leave them on until the mug cools but it can make the colors darker and you run the risk of ghosting. For me personally I get better results removing right away.

    I tried bake 385 / but not sure of the setting for the last knob

    • @PoppyHillDesigns

      Top knob is temperature, that's the only one you need to set. Use an oven thermometer to check the oven temperature and adjust the knob up or down as needed. The middle knob is a timer, I don't use it at all, and the bottom one is for toast, so there is no use for it in sublimation. Good luck with your mugs.

    Hello I have this oven but I’m confused on how to set the temperature at convection

    • @PoppyHillDesigns
      @PoppyHillDesigns  2 роки тому

      Hi Deborah, just use the top dial and turn it to 400 degrees or the temperature you need, that will automatically activate the convection feature. Use an oven thermometer, as demonstrated in the video, to calibrate the temperature, you will probably have to adjust the dial on the oven. As long as you keep the temperature between 385 to 400 degrees F you should be good. Hope this answers your question.

      I place the oven thermometer inside the oven then turn the knob to 400 degrees and let it heat for 10 minutes. I then look at the thermometer inside the oven, if it's over 400 degrees I turn the knob on the oven down, if not hot enough I turn it up. • @PoppyHillDesigns

      A mug coated for sublimation is essential for the process to work. The reason I suggest letting it cool slowly is to avoid micro cracking of that sublimation coating. • @SlavicCooking_CreativePrinting
      @SlavicCooking_CreativePrinting 3 роки тому +2

      If you use any oven for sublimation it can NEVER be used for food again. The sublimation process turns the solid, dry printed sublimation ink directly to a gas, bypassing the liquid stage... and that will permeate throughout the interior of the oven. It will not only severely alter the tastes of food cooked in it but the chemicals that remain from the residual of the gas can be toxic if ingested.
