I've recently stepped away from on line tutorials to try painting from free online photos and surprised myself at how freeing it felt to let my own instincts lead me! I find myself focusing on landscapes - they're my "comfort zone".- seascapes, especially with waves! - and adding people to my paintings are still a challenge for me. I am glad I found your videos. They are giving me a lot to think about as a move ahead! Thanks!
Only found your channel the other day so catching up on all your good advice 🙂 I was ready to start getting a website etc and put my artwork out there as I had won first prize in a local artwork competition , no one was more surprised than at me! then COVID hit😕 things have just started to settle down with other events that took over the last couple of years I now have more time to myself. Watercolour is my first love and landscapes, though not your usual, more folk art. I'm now getting the hang of using coloured pencils, totally different techniques I also have on order a tin of pastel pencils and will be having ago at animal drawing that is definitely out of my comfort zone, the thing is I'm back into just enjoying art😊 I can see a website on the horizon. Thanks again for your advice x
I decided a week or so ago to start pricing the art I post daily and letting others know it is for sale. *Very* uncomfortable for me. Maybe I’ll start working on that this week. It will be more work for me because I’ll have to come up with a price. I might decide to price by size at this point. I want to keep a good balance between selling and creating. I don’t need the money currently but I would like people to own and enjoy my art.
From the title I kind of expected this would touch upon using good good posture (and how) when making art even though it’s uncomfortable. This video has good, actionable advice though.
I watched your video on batching art and really resonated with it. I decided to sign up for one of your free offers. Then I was bombarded with messages, several a day. I tried unsubscribing but was unsuccessful. I had to block your emails. Not a very savvy business plan - it has made me never want to watch your videos again. (And as a note, I NEVER leave negative comments. This was simply egregious.)
@@MichelWingArtist I’m so sorry that happened Michel. I really wish you had replied to any of those emails to tell me you were having trouble, I don't know what to fix if I don't know about it! I have a daily email with the free workshop for one week. Sometimes people sign up for more than one free class of mine and that can trigger too many emails, unfortunately since some are about the course. Drawing Drills has in the past had a daily email for five days to lead you to class content for example. I sincerely appreciate you taking the time to make this comment. I will be spending time with my systems this week to see what’s gone wrong and how I can stop it impacting future subscribers. FYI I went into my system and it says you did in fact cancel your subscription and that no emails were sent after that, on July 28. Best of wishes to you.
@@artiststrong thank you so much for your kind response. I should have emailed you directly - sorry, it was a moment of frustration. I have subscribed to your channel and look forward to more good content.

Thank you for taking the time to share and reflect here. Hopefully we can all support each other in our unique goals and interests with our art.
I am a landscape painter and this year started adding figures and animals. I have made a big difference in my enjoyment.
Good for you Laura thank you for sharing!

I love this take! You can slowly dip your toes in and test it to see how it feels. Because it IS uncomfortable. You've got this Sue.
