2020? Anyone? Just a 17 year old student here but I treasure this kind of songs 🥺 This old songs remind me of my mom who died years ago 🥺😔 Imissyou, mama.
Hey, you have my condolences man. I remember listening to this with my mother. (Unfortunately, our music player broke from the many times she played the song)
I had a teen crush on David Soul in the 70s because of his awesome role as Det. Sgt. Kenneth Hutchinson in my all-time favorite cop show, STARSKY & HUTCH. I met and continue to share a deep friendship with my BFF because of this show (she still calls me "Hutch", I'm a DS/Hutch lover; I still call her "Starsky" for the obvious reasons.) I bought this album because of that crush and this song. Never really listened to many other songs. Years later, because of the pandemic, I join a few S&H fan groups on FACEBOOK and was reconnected with DS and his music. I have a new, adult love for his music, his voice, the emotions he gives to each song, the instrumentation of some of the instruments in the songs, etc. I have found a new appreciation and love for this endearing song, too. Time has matured me. It has also fermented my taste in classic soft rock, pop, old school r&b. JI am who I am....
This song remembers me 1977, it was like yesterday, I was 17. Time flies. It was the most wonderfull time of all my life, plenty of friends, and love. At that time I did not understand english but even that, I knew that song was so sweet. Thank you. Merci beaucoup.
1977...I was 21.Important year! New college graduate... This song just popped into my head today, June 25, 2022.Had to look it up to give it a listen.I'm now 65. Gosh! where'd the time go?!
"Sending so much love to everyone who feels like they’re never chosen as the best friend, as the partner, as the favorite. sending love to all of you who have been treated and felt like second best. sending love to all of you who have felt rejected and unwanted. to all of you who have had to try really hard to fit in because you felt like you never will. you are so loved. you will be seen and heard by the right people. you can trust that you are valuable and not defined by other people’s perceptions of you. if someone doesn’t see your worth, it doesn’t mean it isn’t there."
Replying to: @RandomVlog I know I don’t fit in with a lot of people who like to party hard and #swear like #crazy 😜 but it’s okay to be #Godly too 01:28
Here is a little verse I wrote about an imaginary scene where Starsky is standing in front of Hutch's headstone Said Starsky to Hutch "Your new goal is spreading pure love, that's your role God took you above as his little white dove for David he wanted your soul.

Rest in peace sir. Not many actors ever made a really good song that brings back memories for those of us who, like me, were 21 when this song climbed the charts to #1. Prayers for Mr. Soul's family.

This was big in 1979, my Sr year in H.S. We requested it on the local radio station, dedicated to our boyfriend we got into a fight with! Love those memories! Such a simpler time. 💖
I heard this song on ‘Candy’ and had to come here to listen to the whole thing. I Remember when mom and dad would play this on the record player when I was little. They certainly don’t make love songs like they use to. ❤️
I work overnight....I love listening 2 these old love songs...if only I could go back ..I could feel the time like I am there but trapped in a strange cold new world.....
Reading through the comments, I'm surprised no one mentioned the role David Soul is best known for. I say that because I and a friend were CRAZY about Starsky and Hutch! A million years ago, (1977 or so) we would record the episodes on a portable tape cassette recorder and listen to them over and over. We would reenact the episodes calling ourselves Car Key and Clutch and laugh and laugh. Hard to imagine in these days of unlimited access to nearly every television program ever recorded in history. I did learn something about David Soul today though. I didn't know he was British-American. I DID know he had a beautiful voice. In fact, having this song running through my head is what brought me here today. So here's to Cindy Palacek, my long lost friend, formally known as Car Key. (She was the brunette, I the blonde, Clutch 😊)
This is one of the finest and classic songs of the late 20th century. There is nothing else to say except this Tony Macaulay composed tune is just haunting.,wonderful and lovely...
A lot of memories associated with this song and a girl named Janet. I'm sorry to see you leave us today, David Soul. It makes me think, "Lord knows we've come this far, can't we stay the way we are?...Don't give up on us, I know, we can still come through."
Makes me smile whenever I hear this gentle and caring song. David Soul puts feeling and an amount of truth into a well-written tune. Lovely to sometimes relax and think of his portrayal of a cop in ‘Starsky and Hutch’......
It is written in my heart and I cry every time I still hear this song. Beautiful, great song one of the best that did not get the credit that it truly deserve

I'm so sad!!!!!!!! I miss you so much!!!!!!!! I sit there listening to this song. And,tears are streaming down my face. Knowing I love you but knowing I won't ever have you. People hate me so much they can't stand to see me happy.
Me: I regret not being part of the good ol'days. Grandma: Be prous because you're a product of the good ol'days. I literally dropped a tear hearing what she said.
'DONT GIVE UP ON LIFE' Some people hurt you, some people don't care about you. Some people treat you like nothing. You began questioning things, why life is unfair. And you started asking yourself if life is still worth fighting for. You don't know the things that make you happy anymore. Maybe all you need is someone you can rely on, someone to trust, someone who can listen to your thoughts or just be with someone you really want. But you don't always get what you want and get disappointed. You keep asking all over again, why do you keep wanting people who don't want you back? You keep asking yourself "Am I worthless?" You sink deeply into depression that you don't even know the value of your own life. You hated this life that much that you wanted it to end. But what you didn't know is that you have your own value, your own purpose. That there are people who actually love and care for you. That there are things in life that can make you happy. So before you give up, I want you to know that you are not alone. Please don't give up on life. You are way more valuable than you know. You are precious. You are worthy. Keep this in mind... “Sometimes when you are in a dark place you think you have been buried, but actually you have been planted.” Don't give up!

'DONT GIVE UP ON LIFE'
Some people hurt you, some people don't care about you.
“Sometimes when you are in a dark place you think you have been buried, but actually you have been planted.”
Don't give up!
