Found this band only by luck because I was locking on Discogs about a band called Mercy Rule. Had to click on this because I love 80s metal. What a surprise this album totally shreds.
This is one of my favorite metal albums of all time, "secular" or "sacred;" it truly rocks and hits all the right vibes! Praise God for it!

@@l.salisbury1253 nah, TLFL is almost as good as this one, the last 4 tracks on the 2nd side of this album along with "In the Night" & "Island Prisoner" on one album is tough to beat. I think "Hell Blade" is an underrated album of theirs.

Saint at some of their very best.Lovely heavy guitar Sound,apocalyptic lyrics and vibe while taking a firm stand for the Lord.Cannot believe I sold off all my Saint CDs.This one is the top priority to buy again soon.And this record was from back in the days of the long hair and the recognizable from a mile away heavy metal look they did so well. I think it's awesome they're still going as a band.

Stellar album. Flawless metal. Can stand beside Priest and Maiden. I miss strong albums like this where the lyrics didn’t hold back. Boldness needs to return to Christian metal again. Music put out today might be louder and faster but it’s weaker. Stand firm for Christ or sit down.

Christian metal is the one style that I've found has not been weakened musically. But of course I am listening to the "older" bands from the 80s and 90s. This band is still putting out downright awesome stuff!

Saint is the Christian version of judas priest, Whitecross =RATT,X-Sinner = Cinderella, Barren Cross = Maiden (maybe).

This may be Christian metal from 1980's, but it's better than most!😁 Today's music, or 1990's music , for that matter, isn't louder or faster! Try listening to Xentric- Shattered Existence, Pariah- Blaze of Obscurity, Target- Project Master Genesis, Dyoxen- First Among Equals, and others . They have this in common - there aren't Christian bands, but are from 1989! So end of 1980's!😁🤟
I give as little credence to Christian lyrics as I do to satanic/evil lyrics in metal. Some really good chops on this album

This ain't a bad album at all. But the questionable album art? Cats hate water. This is definitely a heavily influenced Judas Priest band. Which is fine. But where did they find a singer like Halford? That's the hard part.

It is not THAT white as Stryper or other christian bands by my opinion. They are just passing a positive message but... I dont think is pure christian metal.... What do you think?
