I have the same truck in a different paint scheme. I bought it new in Dec 1988. It has been a daily driver ever since. Best vehicle I've ever owned. Never once left me stranded.
The fuel injection hurt these trucks most of em died from severe oil leaks due to not being able to get at things on the 6cyl with that garbage fuel injection. I have Holley Anne an 88 Custom Cab I restored and put the ah Offenhauser conversion on her and man is she a monster now.
I have a 1990 F150, 300 inline 6 and 5 speed manual. Uncle bought it new...i have it now...442,000 miles, original drivetrain. I put another clutch in it a couple of months ago...fully loaded, nice daily.
These trucks are definitly built to work. My 89 is a five speed and all but it ran for 3 years with a hole in the starter box from rust, the hole was the size of the top of the starter
I had one, bought new in May of 1989, Custom model with a tape deck and sliding rear window, loved that truck, wish I still had it. 4.9l was a fantastic engine, never understood why they stopped making it. 5 speed shifted so smooth
I'm about to buy a 94 5-speed and after it runs for a couple minutes and while you're driving the belt squeals any idea what it might be? Serpentine belt ?
That "D" with the white circle around it stands for (O)ver(D)rive Baby!!!! :) Just throw her in Overdrive and you'll be set for a Thousand miles or so!!!!

I’m surprised you’ve drove the same truck for more than 30 years buddy. Good for you because Ford trucks they’re tough.
You’ve must’ve taken great care of the truck for decades
go you still have it?

I love my 89 F-150. I have the 4.9 straight six but mine has the granny box 4 speed manual. God I love that truck. I'll never get rid of it.
Good don’t sell it
These trucks are awesome and tough as nails.
Love the body style of the 1980-1997 Ford F150 pickups my dad has an 88 F150 and 92 f150.
The venerable Truck Six 4.9L 300. Simply one of the best engines ever made.
You just can’t kill those things, one of the most reliable engines ever made.

I still see a lot of those eighth generation Ford F-series pickups on the roads today.
The time when Ford trucks were built tough. The 80s and the 90s had good trucks.
I've got the same truck with a 4-speed, I love it

Nice truck, I had 1 like yours &it had the same old 300 inline 6 in it with the 4 speed automatic transmission , it was a 1995.
i bought this same truck just about a year ago with the camper on top
Awesome 👍👍 1989 Ford F-150 review .
It has an after market 1992 - 1997 tailgate because the tailgates on 1987 - 1991 year models have the Ford capital letters embossed across them.
Just pick up one of these beau.. It match nicely with my 1980 horse trailer.
