Unprecedented event in the world of martial arts. Team Combat show that has no analogues in the world.
The championship was attended by 8 teams from all over the Russian Federation. The fights were held in one night according to the Olympic system where the losing team is eliminated and the winning team goes to the next round. Team that won the championship got the opportunity to represent Russia in the world championship which will be held in 2020.

If they come out with another weight class that Zubarov fella's gonna clean house 4-0. The fact he's done so well despite being at a 50lb weight disadvantage the whole time is fucking impressive.
First exposure to the sport. LIKE the ring. LIKE the concept of re-creating what may have been - not in the pass of Thermopylae - but the way the Greeks might have sported.
i have every respect for these guys but imagine for a second what a proper well trained champion level UFC fighter could do in this scenario

What a LEGEND EFFORT! Punched non stop for 15 minutes, try doing that yourself on a bag without having someone in front of you trying to knock your head off! You will hurt like never before and will put what this guy has done into perspective! One fit hombre!

I think they should let them clinch but no more than 5 seconds, and just keep the action going. I bet if you add up all the times the ref says stop and makes them break, which is 3-4 seconds Monday off the time, it's at least a minute worth of inaction. At least in the clinch you can still throw, elbow and shoot knees.

The left team made a tactical mistake: they should have brought the fighter with the iron chin earlier on: this way he could probably knocked somebody out and could have stayed in the battle tiring at least his second fighter. He is probably hard to defeat by knockout, but easier by points. So he was a perfect match up for the last athlete of the other side: a technical good fighter, but already tired and slowed down and therefore looking for a victory by points.

This looks like legally sanctioned back alley fighting between rival parties of bar patrons. The ring is the size of a back alley. The only things missing are dumpsters, poor lighting, the smell of alley piss and a handful of stray cats curiously observing to see how it all plays out so they can resume scavenging for bar food scraps in peace.
