- So I have heard back from all the colleges I applied to and I was not too happy with the results.... I was honestly a little heart broken, but it's ok, I'll get over it, it's their loss. Waiting for college admission decisions is not fun, I'm very impatient so I was on edge every day for like 4 months, it was no bueno. I'm glad I don't need to wait for anything anymore. If any of you are interested in hearing about my high school stats, just hmu and I'll be glad to share that information for you. somehow stumbled across your videos - i'm from california and went two years at sf state for cinema then transferred to nyu for film, just graduated from nyu this past year and working in the film industry in nyc now ! if you don't get off the waitlist and still feel driven to go there after going to one of the CSU's or UC's you got into i still highly recommend the transfer thing. the program is amazing and tons of fun. new york is hella different than california but if you're down for that lifestyle it's a wild experience. and you'll save two years at $70k transferring and will still get basically the full program and the same amount of connects in two years (assuming you applied film here, wasn't totally specified). best of luck homie and keep your PMA up !! it's super refreshing

@@GabeCoaster stay hopeful dude you never know! i'm sure they're extra slow rn due to corona as well. i do sound design and sound mixing as well as write and direct my own short films, but sound pays the bills hahah

ACT score: 22
GPA: 4.43
Extra Curriculars: Band, Track, Film stuff, and other community service stuff
Community service hours: 400 +

I think it was more because of my portfolio, the film school at UCLA has like a 4% acceptance rate, so I needed a stronger film portfolio I think. I was accepted to UC Berkeley, so maybe if I applied to UCLA with a different major I would’ve been accepted

I want to just say that people who do not want to waste their year after not getting in should really apply to a government college or university in India. or any other country in that rank. We might not have many liberal arts colleges but if you are sure about your subjects and ant a nice education especially in tech with guarantee of getting placement in campus. India is growing fast and the education here is getting advanced, people loudly talk about the stereotypes they hear, but it is no very different. The growth is evidence that large proportions of jobs and firms in 20s and 30s will be in India. Hope in future students also consider this.
