What a quality bit of kit they build Luke. I think when you pair this up with 2000mm of focal length with the RC it's gonna shine. Nigel would be proud of the image 👍

You put Player One cameras on my radar, and in large parts made me decide to go with them for my first, real dedicated astronomy-camera (swore to the modded DSLR prior to that). I went for the Poseidon-C Pro and I do not regret that one bit. Awesome camera, superb quality. I can only imagine that the same standards are kept with the Zeus.

@@lukomatico it's been really great thus far, though I do miss the well depth of my old CCD. Alas, the times are changing.
Though I will say, without a doubt, that the Artemis-C Pro pulls more signal in a 3 min sub than the old KAF-8300 would in 5 mins. So maybe not all is lost! I just need to remember a small set of 60s subs for star colours and I should be sweet!

Quick tip on loosening the spacers after they've been made up for while - got this from the support at Moonlite Express Focusers. I had removed my Nightcrawler to send in for some TLC after three years of use, but I could NOT get the extension adapter off - recommended to get the focus range better aligned with the range of the focuser. When I let Moonlite know of the issue, he told just heat it up for a few minutes with a hair dryer/blow dryer. As tight as it seemed, I was a bit skeptical, but I should not have been. About three minutes of applied heat from the blow dryer and the extension just spun off, not seemingly tight at all.
FYI for anyone facing a similar issue.
I was strongly attracted to OSC imaging, until I was finally convinced to give monochrome a try. Yes, it requires a bit more effort, but the results, reduced noise and better image detail make it no brainer, once you've experienced it. IMO - YMMV

RE: the mono vs osc mention, I'm just a lover of OSC I think haha! I have some very nice mono gear but OSC just keeps me coming back, the image quality ceiling isn't quite as high as mono, but I find a different kind of satisfaction from it!

Speaking of humongous, I just peeked at the price. Even though it is the camera of the Kings, It is just too much image for my systems. I will stick with the Poseidon.

Great video as always. Just got a few questions: 1-have you tried this on your 10” RC? I have a similar beast but manually built from CCF telescope, and was wondering about the field coverage and the overall performance of the combo before dropping the cash to get one of these. 2-your initial processed image looks HSO like, just playing around with PI or using some sort of color magic filters? 3-I think a killer combo without bothering with filters might be to use a Zeus Mono for luminance in bin1, and a Zeus Color for Colors in bin2. As 9t seems you have an “easier” access to Player-one, might be worth to give it a try. I suspect that might produce a result quality wise as good as original LRGB? Thanks again for your great vids.
