The better public schools are in ABC school districts, usually in better neighborhoods where there are affluent communities. The best are charter schools. In the current climate though, safety is not a guarantee. Private schools in the U.S. aren't really different except for tuition, miscellaneous fees, uniforms, a somewhat higher grading system (In private schools, a D grade in a public school is a failing grade), it's more competitive to make it to the top half of your class grade wise, and you have to dedicate your time as a parent to do fundraisers if you're in a religiously affiliated, non-profit school. I will be honest with my experience as an alumni director in a private school. Just because you send your child to a private school doesn't guarantee a solid, stable future. After graduation from high school, you end up in a college or university with students from both private and public schools. If you take a gap year, travel, or choose to work for awhile to afford your higher education tuition, you end up meeting people from different backgrounds. The people you're exposed to determine where you end up in life. On top of that, parents still need to be diligent about being a part of their kids lives.
Ganda po nag pagkaka explain nyo mam.. Sana po madaming makabasa baka makatulong sa pag decide nila sa pag pili ng school, madami din po kasi mga family na nagtatanong na manggagaling sa ibang bansa papunta dito sa US. Maraming salamat po for taking time to share your experience. God bless po 🙏🤗
I agree about the quality of education in private school than public school. My children has always been in private school from preschool to high school and I can truly testify the comparison of both as I see from my nieces and nephews who were at public school. And yes it is costly but my reason for sending them all to private school were you cannot put a price on quality education all of my 3 children graduated Valedictorian and or Salutatorian from the same Catholic School. As of now, all of them are almost graduating from higher education from USC which is also a private college university with a degree in Medicine, Biochemical and Architectural Engineering and it all started from a good foundation of high quality education.
@@Guzman_Family_Vlogs Thank you! This day and age it’s crucial that we give our children a good foundation when it comes to education, my parents spent a good amount of money to send me to NYU to have a good education and they did not think twice about the cost and that’s exactly what I’m doing to my children.

Good for high income earners. But unfair sa low income earners. Kawawa yung mga bata. The system na base sya sa property tax sucks, hindi pantay2 yung budgets. But that's just life, evil world we live in lol I'm not a hater, just my own opinion when it comes to school districts. It will , that is in President Trump plan , free choice of school for the Children . Every city in California has a good school reputation and also bad ratings . It’s in the law that every city needs to build an apartment for all people who cannot afford to buy a house . When moving to another place /states like California be sure to look for a city with low crime rates. You can always search on line about the city before moving there .
If you can afford it send your children to private school. It really makes a difference not only in academic standard but also in a child's personality and behavior . Children coming from lower income and less educated household have a different upbring compared to those being raised by more educated and affluent parents. They behave and talk sometimes in a ghetto way and they can influence the other children in school .Those who graduate from private school do talk, walk and behave differently. Some Filipinos say, " iba ang tindig". Of course, there are always exceptions . I know of kids from bad school district who went to Harvard Medical, Boalt Law School , MIT, Yale and Cornell University. What made the difference with these kids are their mothers who are highly intelligent and guided their kids everyday in their studies and taught them to aim high .
I agree with you. we sacrificed paying tuition fee for sending our kids in private school here in Los Angeles. Kids are well mannered and behaved in my observation.
Thank you for discussing this Guzman fam, very helpful. At this early kahit waiting for the interview I am already researching places to settle and the top consideration is the school rating. I just want to ask, if for example our kids are in one school but we have to move in the same city but belongs to a different school district, can the kids stay in their current school or do we have to move them? That is what I am wondering as we know we have to rent first then purchase our home when we can but could be in a place served by a different school district. Any insights would help, thanks! Sharing our experience in Ireland, it is somewhat similar there. The quality of the school depends on the location as well. What's good here though is almost all attend public school. You can't really tell which goes to Public or Private school. Regards Guzman fam, God bless. ❤
