@Virginia Slade I'm sure you know about pro tools, doubles, layering vocals etc. All I hear and others apparently too, is Maxwell. His live performances he has back up singers if it's all the way live with no back track or instrumental...but background vocals are credited on liners and wherever song credits are listed. You should watch Christina Aguillera and Alicia keys record "Impossible". Keys wrote it but if you watch how they arranged the song that's the best example I can give you to vocal layering and if you can't hit certain notes to harmonize with your own voice, you can tweek them with pro tools
@@kikiirene20091 No he doesn't. He said, and there are videos on youtube where he sings in to a recorder. He has dyslexia. That is not an intellectual condition..meaning, he's not stupid. He just doesn't see words and letters the way others do. They look like alphabet soup. It's easily "fixed" with proper lessons/tutoring but the Chicago school system doesn't didn't budget for special needs. On top of that, that shows how gifted he is inspite of the sickness he experienced growing up and later inflicted on others.
Thanks for the clarification. I was aware he had dyslexia and couldn't read well. And yes he's always been a gifted genius of an artist. There's a lot of artists who suffer or suffered with dyslexia. Michael Jackson was dyslexic and a bona fide genius.
@@kikiirene20091 That's interesting. I never heard of MJ being dyslexic. R. Kelly wrote and produced this song, he wrote and produced the whole Life soundtrack. React to Life by K-Ci & JoJo which is also on the Life soundtrack.
CLASSIC ♥️♥️ "Fortunate to have you girl. I'm so glad you're in my world. Just as sure as the sky is blue. I bless the day when I found you." (Maxwell)
Gotta react to some Avant! “makin good love” “separated” “read your mind” ALSO Avant and Keke Wyatt “my first love” “nothing in this world” and while we’re at it Keke Wyatt cover of “If only you knew”
@Jack Reacts Written, Produced, Composed and Arranged by R. Kelly, FORTUNATE is one of the BEST love songs, in my opinion. MAXWELL did his thang 🥰 great reaction Jack
Alexander O'Neal is an artist I think jack will love. "Fake" and "Sunshine" are a must and his duets with Cherrelle "Saturday Love" and "Everything I Miss At Home."
A certified bedroom banger of epic proportions. This isn't just sex playlist music, it's slow dance at your wedding music. It's music to court that special someone. I wish R&B was this immaculate now. Maxwell is smoother than smooth...it's killer.
YOU ASKED EARLIER WAS THAT A WOMAN SINGIN IN THE BACKGROUND NO THAT WAS MAXWELL SINGIN. HIMSELF!!!!!!...HE IS ONE OF THE BADDEST MALE R&B. SANGAS OUT THERE ESPECIALLY IN THE 90'S - 2G'S TIL THIS DAY!!!!!!
This is from the Life movie soundtrack. The movie stars Eddie Murphy and Martin Lawrence...with Bernie Mac in it too. K-CI and JoJo title track Life is a jam too.
Jack doesn't know that this is from the Life soundtrack from the 1999 Movie starring Eddie Murphy, Martin Lawrence And Bernie Mac And The song was written by I don't wanna say his name well r. Kelly
lololee24 Thank you. I trip when people expect him to know eras of music and artist that came out 10, 20, 30 years prior to his birth. Even if it’s in the 2000s, he was just born 2002. Cut him some slack. This is the fun part. Seeing him react for the first time to music most of us had the pleasure to grow up listening too.
I clicked so fast, I think my head spun! This is my favorite Maxwell song. It's so good! And it's on the soundtrack of one of my favorite comedies, "Life" with Martin Lawrence and Eddie Murphy. That movie is hilarious but I let it play all the way to the end of the credits to hear this and "Life" by K-Ci and JoJo. Classic!
This song/video, Lauryn Hill's "Ex-Factor," and D'Angelo's "Untitled (How Does It Feel)" got non-stop rotation on BET during 1999. All 3 of those music videos automatically take me back to that year! Just the visuals alone scream 1999 to me, especially the semi-futuristic visuals and blue color everywhere in this and Ex-Factor.
Love Maxwells’s vocals. But I think you should checkout more of Prince’s catalog. No one does deep and falsetto vocals quite like him. And he writes his own music too!!!💜💜💜
SIDE NOTE: MAXWELL WROTE MUSIC FOR QUITE A FEW ESTABLISHED ARTISTS BEFORE HE DECIDED TO DO HIS OWN THING- & SOMEBODY HAD TO CONVINCE HIM TO DO THAT. WOW!!😮
You definitely have to hear him live. MTV Unplugged 1997. Song- "Whenever, Wherever, Whatever ". You just might shed a tear. His voice is so beautiful live.
1. Keith sweat - twisted. 2. Joe - don't wanna be a player. 3. Joe - I'm in love. 4. Devante swing - gin and juice. 5. Jon b - are u still down? 6. Usher - call me a mack.
You gotta check out songs off of Maxwell's album "Embrya". He co-produced it with Stuart Matthewman (member of Sade) and you can definitely hear it in the instrumentals.

He has the tightest band, several of his musicians have their own successful solo careers. You owe yourself to listen his entire discography for the TOTAL MAXWELL EXPERIENCE. See his LIVE concerts and on UA-cam! The VH1 and MTV Unplugged, The Power 108 version of BAD HABITS, and the original. And one of latest videos, SHAME and LAKE BY THE OCEAN. Yo, Bro you on this reaction about Maxwell, that some comment that you like everything. You said if you don't like Maxwell and "Fortunate" , "That's a YOU problem"😂 like that.
Maxwell’s low register is my favourite. That man can sing low. His breath control is amazing too.
Yes very, his lower register is crazyyy
Maxwell's taking voice is one of the deepest voices you'll ever hear.
Maxwell is one of the best male vocalist.
It’s no woman on background vocals that’s him. Written and produced by R.Kelly. 🔥🔥🔥
Virginia Slade idk if it’s a women too but I definitely hear maxwell on the background vocals.

So when Usher sang U got it bad.. this was the song he had referenced "I'm fortunate to have you girl".
Wow I didn't know that

Yup.
This song was written by R Kelly and it was on the movie Life soundtrack
I always wanted to know how does R. Kelly write songs if people say he can’t read or write
