Besides the Louis and Harry shipping being obsessive and creepy, i find it to be rooted in patriarchal ideals, toxic masculinity culture, and maybe even homophobia. Why can't boys/young men have close friendships with one another without being assumed to be gay? Why can't men hug each other or be physically close with their friends without it automatically being seen as sexual? As a teenage girl, i held hands with, hugged, and cuddled with my friends and no one ever thought anything of it... it's a weird double standard that needs to end.
Why, if Harry or Louis hold hands with a woman they must be dating them? Harry and Louis held hands, kissed, caressed the others face and arm, rubbed the others thighs, gave each other the sweetheart sign, licked the others nose, looked at each other suggestively so Liam said “are you quite finished lads”, but they were ‘just friends’. Do you see the double standard there?

You have just become so obsessed with the concept of those two together that´'ll you narrow down everything and consume media from a one point perspective while ignoring anything that opposes it. You look so much for signs of them being together so of course you'll find it with whatever limited actual proof you have, but at least try to live in reality a little bit.
@@holdingontolouist No, they weren’t actually all like this with each other. All the boys were affectionate and grabbing each other but it was out in the open. None of the others walked down the street together holding hands, rubbed or grabbed the others thigh behind a table where they thought they couldn’t be seen, blew kisses or winked at the other, got jealous of anyone touching the other or jealous of the thought of their first kiss. No one else said “we’re in public”, “there are cameras”.

So, if Larry is not real why do they still use the blue/green and change song lyrics when they must know what it means to fans? Here's one theory.......
I've just formed a new boy band consisting of young men I've just said are not good enough as individual singers. How do I get people talking about this band and raise their profile? Well, romance usually works. If two of the band members just flirt with each other and get 'caught' on camera the fans will fill in the blanks. Hence the Larryverse was born. Perhaps over time it got out of hand and the management tried to pull it back, but others found it was still useful to get publicity. How many other artists have their tour lighting and small lyric changes discussed endlessly on forums?
One thing I've never understood is things like the "First Crush" interview. If their management was so controlling how did they ever agree to this being released, unless it was broadcast live or they wanted it released? If they didn't want it surely they would have told H never to do anything like it again.
Is this far-fetched ? Perhaps, but is it any more far-fetched than two world famous people being in a romantic relationship for the past eight years but never being seen together, despite the millions of cameras around? I know they have money and can probably travel discretely but what then, stay indoors watching Gogglebox?
