There is no solution to the multiple LLCs. That's just how Corporations work, especially corporate law in the US. There was a UA-cam video by a guy named Phil Edwards explaining why there were 295,000 businesses in one little building in Delaware. I imagine that's only partially down from the iceberg tip on how corporations work
The Blasphemous board game will be competitive and will be set before the events of the main game. Where the rest of the brotherhood of the silent sorrow is alive, as each player will play as a member of the brotherhood. The penitent one miniature is just a nice little gift for the followers
Quote from one of the creators: "Clearly not the main character of our game, but just a cameo as a welcome gift^^ I say gift because following is free XD The playing characters will be other Penitents seeking redemption!"
They still suck as a company. People get mad at Mythic for using project to fund their other projects. However Middara just releases resin packs to do the same, and gets praised for constant updates.
Yes it is hard to follow weekly updates in Middara, so instead we can just not worry about that and trust that you will tell us if there is anything of note !
The Teburu system is also expected to have a Sword & Sorcery game at some point. So, its expanding the amount of different games that will be available for it. Im not too excited for this Cthulu boss battler. And I didnt back the Vampire The Masquerade game either. But when Sword & Sorcery becomes available, I will probably take the plunge.
You and me both. I wasn't going to back Bad Karmas but me & friends went in on that 4 copy pledge. Game BK was better than I expected, jankiness aside. Vampire I might have gone in on if it had launched after I got the Teburu. But S&S is the one I'm looking the most forward to and I'm really hoping it's not going to be vaporware.
Nice positive story there at the end of the video. It warms my heart a little to see that at least one or two game developers are dealing with stakeholder communication in a serious way. :) On reflection it's sad that something which should be the norm 'warms' my heart. I wrote and requested project updates for a game which is supposed to be delivered in autumn of 2024, does not give frequent updates on the project, and appears to have tons of scope creeps. When I asked, in what I hope was taken in a polite way, for updates on the maturity of the various waves of the project was i.e. pre.development, development or production... what we got was a picture of a new mini the workshop had just created.
The Ascandind Fate minis look great. I don't need more detail on miniatures that are 28-32mm tall as they are easier to paint and look good if someone isn't nitpicking. Miniatures these days suffer mostly from boring and uninspired poses rather than detail.
For me it's "over detailed" vs "crisp detail" An example is some of CMONs minis like from Ankh which have layer upon layer if small details. That is a huge chore to paint. On the flip side, keeping the amount of detail lower, but quality of detail high really helps in painting.
Call me a jerk if you want, but when I see French creators now, I think REALLY hard about backing. For me, my worst experiences have been with French creators.
@RyanF1313 Monolith has stolen money from me. My father died, I didn't pay just the shipping for Orcquest because I was destroyed. They told me my money is a gift to them.
Not saying what your saying isn't wrong about WISIWY changing their company name, however had another company that did the same thing, and they basically explained a different side that us consumers wouldn't think about. They basically explained that once you fail on crowdfunding with a project its really hard to succeed with any other project using the same company name, that's even if you mention it in comments, or on the page that you changed your company name. Specifically that kickstarter treats you differently as a company because you failed, putting your project on a lower tier then new creators. That it wasn't about being dishonest to consumers, that it was more about being dishonest to kickstarer which forced them to be dishonest to consumers. Just an interesting take, on something I thought was just scummy business tactics.
Totally disagree with Middara, yes their giving us weekly updates but that doesn't make them any less dishonest. Like for a fact that you got a better deal if you bought in the pledge manager, then if you did on the kickstarter. All people that ordered Act 1 in the pledge manager are getting a full improved insert, while all of us that bought in the original kickstarter will need to purchase it later if we want it. Their argument for the reason was those in the pledge manager had to pay more for it, however its nonsense because they also have the update pack included, one that original kickstarter backers had to pay 30$ for. You games wouldn't be a thing without us original backers, yet their providing benefits for those that pledged later. Next time im better off not backing their kick starter right away, waiting a year, and then backing in the pledge manager. Not to mention they basically did a similer thing as Lazy Square is doing, sell Resin mini packs to pay for their Act 2 and 3. So for me their on the bad list, along with Mythic, Peterson, and Lazy Square.
After collecting more money from backers, Darkest Dungeon Wave 2 has gone completely dark for like 6 months now. Curious if you can get in touch with Leo. I assume that game is just dead and they’re out of money.
The only thing that really upset me with the whole situation. They could've disabled Firetablets from DAy one, but they got flooded with support tickets and alot of them were firetablets. So they disabled it. after 2 weeks of playing and up to the 8th boss. I was playing with a 5 year old. telling a 5 year old he can't play his new favorite game. for a few nights in a row he cried him self to sleep. I felt so helpless. I don't blame them, but they could've handled it differently. Their discord server is saying that the patch disabled fire tablets. but I'm a Systems enigineer that works with cloud based apps and have published apps in play store. THEY DISABLED IT... it wasn't like they added some new code and that made it stop working.; They just turned it off. They probably ment to before launch, or were hoping they wouldn't get flooded with support cases and it could've been a nice easy added support.
@@TheKingofAverage Gets memto thinking there's also a vocabulary issue. When someone says "failed Kickstarter" my mind goes to a project that funded but didn't deliver as opposed to a Kickstarter that simply didn't fund.
I'm so torn over DC United. I love DC. I've never played United. sometimes I go all in. Sometimes less. sometimes nothing, would my neice and nephew love it too? will my wife love it? 385 bucks?! ::pulls out hair::
United is very light and easy to play. I played it with my group and no one liked it because it was too light, however I was playing with all adults, and I could see the game being really fun for kids.
I refuse to buy any game that requires an app to play, as it's just an artificial expiration date for a physical game. Also, I play games to interact with people, not to find another reason to stare at my phone.
Soo The bad karmas, has really good social interaction. You gotta plan your turn out every round. So all 4 players gotta discuss when they can or can't doo. And what's amazing about the game, I've been through 10 bosses. and got probably 15-20 hours on it so far. Noo one single round has ever gone as planned. The AI responds to what's happening. Think your gonna run it for a crit, He'll move or push you away. Set up kittysnipes for a crazy high dmg attack, He'll get out of range. plan to get the group together for a large heal. He'll push everyone apart. The game is really amazing. This game gets more high fives and cheering around the table then any other boss battler. Plus The differences in bosses is crazy, specially the AI puzzle of each bossl. the surprise turn of events, extra phases, just insane stufff. can never get that in board games.

Not trying to bother too much, but what is the status of the fundraiser?

So hyped for the rest of Middara. So glad they are not giving out promos to just convention goers and giving everyone the chance to purchase them.
How late is Middara now? I'm not trolling - genuinely want to know where they're at vs their promises.
@@GoodEggGuyI backed the Triliogy in 2019. Act 2 and3 were slated for Dec 2021. It’s so late I have bought, sold, and bought again the core game.

Would love to hear you speak to "all-in" pledges that don't include all the available products, such as Gilderoy Lockhart for Hogwarts Wizard Battles.

Yeah I get that vibe too when backing stuff with French creators, they just don't seem to have any regard for backers.
Monolith is a good company. And French.
I have backed many games and they deliver what they promise- not always on time. 😅
@RyanF1313 Monolith has stolen money from me. My father died, I didn't pay just the shipping for Orcquest because I was destroyed. They told me my money is a gift to them.
Orcquest is still missing a promised FAQ to make it a playable game.

To be honest, if they didn't take backers' money and not deliver, I don't see what the big deal is.
Yeah that's why I stressed I don't see a specific issue with them, just a general reason to note that it can be hard to tell :)
