I've heard a few people refer to kale as poison and referencing thallium poisoning (quick search brings up many articles). Hmm personally I love it especially on a Sunday roast dinner with gravy. Everything in moderation though. I've never once seen organic kale being sold where I am so there likely will be pesticides, but that's why I limit all non organic greens anyway.
You are right to be cautious. Unfortunately some of the most nutritional vegetables and fruits are the more contaminated ones being spinach, strawberries, cruciferous (kale, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cauliflower, cabbage or celery) at the top. I'm lucky that in my small town in Portugal I'm able to find a reasonable diversity of all these, organically produced, anyway in the European Union we are more strict regarding pesticides.
i grow this massive kale i call super kale since i forgot the name then i first got it 4 years ago, i harvest seeds every year and the plants grow massive, thayre a very large semi curley kale.
love your channel. The foods you cover in the way you do, pretty in depth and straight to the poin,t 'all stuff no fluff', and not trying to sell any particular product....you do a great job. thank you.
Yeah my father has a similar condition and needs to watch out for vegetables high in vitamin K. For most people on the contrary this is one of kale's most notable strengths.
The third point about protein undermines the credibility of the entire video. I love kale but if you're going to praise it for its protein content and praise plant-based protein for producing strong monkeys and argue that we humans therefore should rely on plant protein is pretty freaking ridiculous. I have a vegan colleague who actually thinks broccoli is a good way to get her proteins because of BS videos like these. This is dangerous. Be nuanced and tell vegans the truth. You're endangering their health.
And the same goes for the omega 3 fatty acids in kale. Yes, some plants, nuts, seeds and oils contain a lot of ALA fatty acids but less than 1% of these convert to EPA and DHA (the types for in fish and algae oils) which are the ones your body needs to combat excess omega 6. It's not worth mentioning as a benefit for kale. Once again information that leads vegans to believe that they can be healthy without animal supplements or atleast supplements based on algae.
Humans by design are (frugivores) than anything else, hence why there is no need to cook fruit, its the perfect food / fuel for the human body. Kale is however a great vegetable.
kale seems to be one of the most attrective and underrated green to be added to a salad. Thank for the useful content!
Great knowledge

In other words: Include some steamed Kale in your daily vegetables.
what about 0xalates?
The high Vit. K content made my blood coagulate too much, but I have a clotting polymorphism so its probably not an issue for most people.

💜
I love kale but it’s hard to grow because white moths get on it and lay eggs which hatch out into caterpillars and they eat the leaves .
What time of the year are you growing it?
Use Neem oil
I bought fresh kale in a bag .it was not out dated it had black spots on all of it .I was afraid to eat it .What could this be😅 .
