If even Zelda and Mario, Nintendo's own franchises, don't get the best treatment for re-releases on the switch then seeing this happen for Switch KH isn't too surprising.
I think Zelda's Switch rereleases have been fine thus far, except OOT on N64 Online (which I heard got patched recently so it's probably a lot better). I guess Skyward Sword HD and Link's Awakening should have been priced more fairly but they are the best ways to play those games regardless, in my opinion. I'm assuming for Mario you mean the 3D All Stars collection and to me the only issues are the price, the lack of two 3D Marios (or one, I think 3D Land remastered with 3D World would have made that whole package more worthwhile) and the timed exclusivity bullshit (but it isn't that big a deal since I still see copies in stores sometimes) and of course the principle of an overpriced limited run collection of emulated ROMs. Post launch patches have made that collection a bit better like adding N64 controller support for Mario 64 when they released the wireless controller with N64 Online and making the GameCube controller work properly for Sunshine. And it's probably the best way to play Galaxy aside from handheld mode which is pretty disappointing in terms of the way they handled that.

But this is just low effort cash grab, so sad!
I think they haven't remade 358 and Re:Coded because they were primarily developed by hand, which I don't think Square has ties with anymore. Not to mention the fact that they weren't made with the same engine all of the other KH games were made with, which would mean that they would have to remake it from the ground up (which isn't gonna happen because this is 2022 Square we're talking about. I see your point though.
KH3 on PS4 & Xbox One has an unlocked frame rate mode that goes up to 60. Even on the base consoles from 2013. However, they never were able to get up to 60 on either. The closest was if you set a PS4 Pro to 1080p & turned off supersampling. It's not a consistent 60FPS, but it's better than either. Though, imo, if you could turn off supersampling on Xbox One X, I have no doubt that'd be the best way to play on those consoles. Both also have 30FPS caps, but they have shit frame pacing, so it's better to keep them unlocked. On Series X/S & PS5, all 3 run the game very sably at 60FPS the whole way through, though the cutscenes still have bad frame pacing at times due to being capped at 30 & that issue never being fixed at all for some reason.

So even the cutscene movies are affected too? Ha ha ha.... I don't know why they even bothered with this, it literally beats the whole point of the Switch.
The reason they restrict the playtime so strictly is because it's being streamed. It's a service and they don't want to have to pay massive data fees to give people free acess to their game.

@@magimoo9371 yep. is thrash
It's weird how different people's experience can be with the same thing. I absolutely shitty internet, like really terrible, but by some miracle the demos work great for me. Which honestly kinda bugs me because I see all these people having issues, so I'm really hoping they fix this stuff because the inconsistency between all these peoples experiences is really weird. Everyone deserves good versions of these games especially if they're forcing the cloud BS onto us
You know there’ll be masochists doing challenge runs with the Cloud versions of these “ports”. Also, Square, what in the actual hell?
If even Zelda and Mario, Nintendo's own franchises, don't get the best treatment for re-releases on the switch then seeing this happen for Switch KH isn't too surprising.
What would Nintendo’s releases have to do with this release?
@@LeopoldLitchenstein Yup I was talking about those specifically. I really hope OOT on Switch was patched to be better, cause that first day look was... not flattering.
@@BlueBladeofFate I believe I heard the other day that it was fixed but I can't confirm since I didn't play it when it first launched to compare and I don't see any reason to invest in the upgraded service when I've already played most of the N64 games I'd want to aside from the Banjo-Kazooie games. But I hope it is too.
I knew the cloud version would be rough but I wanted to give it a chance.
I tried the demo and ya, I'm not buying that.
Come on, Nintendo. KH deserves so much better than...whatever this cloud crap is.
And their prices? Dont even get me started.
Square chose these prices and made them the Cloud verisons (instead of just porting the PS2 versions like Biz said could've been done), not Nintendo.
Yup it's square not Nintendo. Iirc they even basically admitted they made them cloud versions because they don't believe it will make enough money to justify a port.
Since a cloud version is close to zero effort and not being on switch nowadays is basically throwing away money and making investors unhappy they probably decided to go with that.
@@sinom IT sucks too cause apparently there was an interview with Square last November (back when this was first announced) them saying that they were gonna consider not cloud after the response, and yes I know that doesn't mean 100% it was gonna change, but it means they were aware of the negative response, but whoever was in charge I guess felt this was the way they had to go. Damn shame.
@@sinom
Well whose ever idea this was, they fukked up.
If they cared to pay attention to fan then they would know making it a proper port would make them more money than going to cheaper cloud version route.
I think Xaldin's voice is due to David Dayan Fisher getting older. It was after all a gap between 2006 in KH2 and 2013 in Days.
I was going to get the switch versions until they announced they were cloud versions. I was hoping to play kh2fm portably but I guess the steam deck is my only choice now
2 weeks late but there is also the AYN Odin that can emulate the PS2 decently
Considering devs made Witcher 3 work on the switch, they def could do it with KH3 if they weren’t lazy lol
But that would require Disney and Square to put in effort, something they clearly can’t do for KH3 regardless
Cloud gaming only for KH3 and Fragmentary Passage would make sense but the ENTIRE Collection is just desperate attempt to cash in!
It's sureal to me that I can Emulate and play perfectly with no issue both KH1 & 2 : FM, BBS, Days and Re:Coded (They are still movies on the collection... they don't do justice to those games) on a 12 year PC (No DDD because i can't run 3DS emulator on 32-bit Windows lol)
But a Billionaire dollars company refuse to port them natively on SWITCH which they would run perfectly!
But this is just low effort cash grab, so sad!
And who gives a shit? You’re not obliged to buy anything. So weird how gamers will literally cry over things that don’t effect them.
@@TheSCPStudio Well I wanna buy a good kh port so I'll go cry myself to sleep
I think they haven't remade 358 and Re:Coded because they were primarily developed by hand, which I don't think Square has ties with anymore. Not to mention the fact that they weren't made with the same engine all of the other KH games were made with, which would mean that they would have to remake it from the ground up (which isn't gonna happen because this is 2022 Square we're talking about. I see your point though.
Being a Square Enix fan is constant facepalming. So many beloved IPs and talent surrounded by the laziest, greediest corporate bloat.
Came here from the goldeneye aztec speedrun on secret agent. 14 years snd still active channel. Nice
I was like "awesome I can play the game on road trips... Oh wait"
Why did they do this...
If you have an unlimited data bundle on your phone you could use a wifi hotspot to play it on the go
You need a true unlimited bundle though my phone has 5gb a day and you can request extra gb's for free
I think we can all agree on something. Ursula is the best tutorial Boss in the series
Osaka has the right idea giving you dodge roll, guard, scan, and aerial recovery immediately but as far as tutorial bosses go nothing holds a candle to that original Darkside imo
@@markmayonnaise1163 Darkside from KH1 correct? Not any other game?
I still don't get how and why the ps2 and psp games are cloud when the switch can run them
And 3DS
Hahaha kh3 :
Is that who you are ?
*Misclicks no*
*Demo ends*
Is the game crash intentional?
Neo twewy has a 2 hour demo
Kh has a 10 minute one on switch
Twewy: 20 points
Kh: -1.3.69430 a fragmentary joeballs 3.96 mickey gets doxxed
i don't believe it's the frame rate that is messing with him. It's the input delay from it being streamed.
After seeing that you only get 10 minutes it took me back to the smash bros brawl days
It's so surreal that Kingdom Hearts is on the Switch 😯
Cloud version only. And that is bad.
@@nathanpitones yea they should have made them ports just lower resolution especially for kh3
cloud versions, who cares smh
Not like this... Not like this! 😞
Not really on the switch. Its on a server and then gets streamed over to the switch.
can you do DDD speed run 100% and 2.8 as well, please? thanks
3 is only 1 or should i say 30 secs instead of 1 minutes of choosing your adventure
Bro what? Kh3 on PS4 is 60 Fps on default graphics settings and 30 on stable mode.
On regular PS4 or PS4 Pro? I don't have base PS4 to compare
@@Bizkit047 I have a PS4 slim
How to play KH:
1- if you have a PC then buy the epic games version
2-If you have a PC then you can just emulate the games
3-Buy a PS4/Xbox
Because i played on nintendo switch and it sucked ass... HELL MY PC IS A FREAKING POTATO BUT IT CAN RUN KH GAMES BETTER THAN THIS CLOUD VERSION
You forgot a few steps:
4. If you own a PS2 then buy KH1, COM and KH2
5. If you own a GBA then buy COM
6. If you own a PSP then buy BBS
7. If you own a DS then buy 358/2 or ReCoded
8. If you own a 3DS then buy Dreams
When all you have is a switch :(
>I want Kingdom Hearts on Switch alreadyyy...
>NOOOOO not like _thaaaat...!_
So even the cutscene movies are affected too? Ha ha ha.... I don't know why they even bothered with this, it literally beats the whole point of the Switch.
is this a new form of self torturing channel ?
The reason they restrict the playtime so strictly is because it's being streamed. It's a service and they don't want to have to pay massive data fees to give people free acess to their game.
It’s…so bad
I'm sure that the docked switch could run 1.5+2.5 without the need for the cloud. Why did they bother making it like this?
The loading time is 10 seconds "could've been worse" for kh3 it loaded faster than Xbox one version
The games will lag like nothing else, and you cant plau them without a server active and a wifi connection.
Im not buying this version unless they make native ports. This is not a game you can play with tons of lag
Honestly if they just released a physical version, even if each game was released individually, it would solve a lot of problems.
This reminds me of smash bros brawl where they gave you a bunch of retro game demos but they were all less than a minute long, is a waste
Steam users biding their time intensifies....
Honestly probably would have been better to put the ps2 versions non final mix on there lol. Still would have been better then cloud play.
FM came out on PS2
@@markmayonnaise1163 yeah but wasnt it JP only?
@@OscarThePenguin55 yeah but translating that wouldn't be that hard
And they could probably steal the already existing english patch (based on the ps3/ps4 versions) and nobody would know or care if they use that (i know that wasn't going to happen but still would be a better case scenario than this)
Reasons not to go cloud:
1. when the servers shut, you can't play the game anymore
2. wifi needs to be stable to work properly
3. the quality is always worse
4. it sends a clear message with some games that the company behind them, not the devs, didn't want to put the time and effort into making the port in the first place, especially when those games have run on inferior hardware like PS2, PSP, PS3 etc.
5. pretty much used for the Switch most of the time, which defeats the whole point of "on the go gaming" that the Switch likes to advertise.
Reasons to go cloud:
1. the hardware isn't capable of running the game at all
2. you love the game so much you'll get another copy of it on inferior hardware.
then og versions on ps2 are so much better
This is a crime against humanity
Aqua and Terra's voices I think are suppose to have some kind of stoicism, where they try to not let emotions get the best of them
I think I will only pre order kh3 just for the new keyblade
Don't buy this some of the worst game ports ever!
I almost feel bad for the Nintendo players.
P Cup Grade.
I have the PS3/PS4/PC versions (and even the imported japanese ps2 version of kh2fm) so a crappy Cloud version just for the convenience to be able to play downstairs on my couch is better than nothing
But if this is your first time playing, your ps4 is already downstairs or your internet isn't basically the fastest most expensive pack your ISP sells I absolutely wouldn't recommend to buy it unless you're a diehard fan and you're willing to over pay just for the convenience of being able to play on your couch without annoying your family members that don't play video games
i dont own a switch, but from the gameplays of the demo i’ve seen on youtube it doesn’t seem THAT bad. still would never considering buying the full game on switch though.
oh boy it's OoT all over again but probably worse lol
Kingdom Hearts would run on the switch but it's because of the file size
How big exactly is the issue? Cause like all the Warriors games on Switch are notably larger than most others, but they're still coming.
@@ShyRanger the game is 57 GB
@@limit504. OH dear lord..... okay yah you're right lol
@@limit504. Which one? Cuz if they're trying to lump them all together, there's your problem. It's not the size, it's square's inability to seperate them, their need to keep selling them as packaged deals, instead of KH1, KH2, KHRe:CoM, KHBBS, seperately.
@@GothAtheist 1.5+2.5 and I don't know why they don't just do the games separately either
cool
This is embarrassing
Played it and it works well I only getting kh3 because it's pretty much understandable for the cloud
