Song by Turkish legendary artist Aşık Veysel Instruments by legendary Cahit Berkay Performed by Barış Manço and Cem Karaca That's why this is a legendary performance
Im quite sure most people of living etc.. havent tasted of TÜRKİYE so deep yet . ı appreciate you and thanks to you , we all tasted that even though you are not ınvolded same dream wıth us thx a lot and appreciate
The song you are listening to is Turkish folk music, the owner of the song belongs to a very famous poet, AŞIK VEYSEL. This song is so famous that you can see its versions in our country and all over the world. The name of the instrument you are curious about is YAYLI TAMBUR and the person playing it is CAHİT BERKAY, the first name that comes to mind when Anatolian rock is mentioned, I recommend his own music group MOGOLLAR (I'm sorry for the translation, I didn't get help from google :) )
This is one my fav videos to watch. Of course it makes more sense when you know more about the history between these 2 legends. How they started music together but then split up because of political view differences when they were young. Yet they got together and left an amazing video for us to watch!
If there wasn't such great music over it, this video would be effing hilarious! 😂🤣😂 These two Turkish dudes who look like Frank Zappa just raided Craig Sager's closet and are now performing interpretive finger shadow dance while stoned out of their minds! 😂🤣😂 But I love the music. I'm a big fan of Turkish music. Everything from Özgür Baba to Gül§en. I love prog rock that incorporates native instruments and rhythms! This was an interesting one, Dean! 🌀🌀🌀
Considering you're generally more interested in the prog-rock sound, I suggest you check out the full version of "Yeni Bir Gün" ("A New Day") from Barış Manço. Here's the link: ua-cam.com/video/9mOZQUDK2CU/v-deo.html If you want to check out a very popular proggy ballad of his, I definitely suggest the original version of "Gülpembe" (Later 90s version lost some of its psyhedelic rock sound) Here's the link: ua-cam.com/video/hvitE7HyAaU/v-deo.html
Hey man. You very lucky. Because this very important video. Baris manco rightist nationalist. Cem Karaca leftist communist. These are two different political views. close friend. . lyrics are important. Written by the blind artist. man playing different musical instruments. world award winner capital berkay
this song is not progressive rock. If you want to listen to Turkish progressive rock; Cem Karaca - Safinaz, Asia Minor - Mahsun Gözler, Barış Manço - 2023 you should listen
Great to see you dive into this with legends but i must say, poor choice of content. Song and every single one of them in the stage are great but to an foreigner ear it wouldnt mean much... Sadly their late work is for from prog rock, Barış Manço moved to pop style and Cem Karaca leaned more political and leftist style( which resulted with a ban and exile). Lastly there are more up to date bands you can react to like Altın gün, especially their live gags rocks! Süpürgesi yoncadan, Ervah-ı ezelden, Anlatmam derdimi, Çayelinden öteye.... they are great songs, more of a psychedelic rock tho...

I love Asia Minor.
Especially their second album.
The new album released last year is also good.
I recognized they were a French band.
The Asian minor has been reacted.
