- In this video I'll show you how you can use basic tools like hammers and scrap wood to shape metal into your wildest dreams. Ill start by making a flexible shaped pattern and then use a hammer form and hammer to shape the panel.

Loved seeing this. I never knew what it took to shape metal and I can see myself doing a bit of this in the future as I'm helping my son-in-law renovate a 1972 Airstream and it's got a couple of places that could use some TLC.

I have a question for u if u got time for it..
Q. The table u were using is a Welding table I'm guessing but what thickness of Steel did u use to make it? I have 3mm sheet in my shop. I wanna make a small 500x500mm table with it.
I'm kinda stumped how it looked so strong and didn't look like it was flexing that much with u hammering on it?
It was when u used those clamps that shocked me. How thick is the metal for ur table top my bro??
I'm just getting into welding and I really want a decent table for a beginner.
Will my 3mm 500x500mm sheet be good enough for clamping to when I drill the holes and what size holes are most commen? Somebody said to drill 16mm? 5/8" holes would be fine??
Any helpful advice from anybody reading this would be good if anybody in the comment section has a minute to answer..

It’s about 1/8” thick. There’s a frame under the edges. I just try to stay in that area when hammering. The 16mm holes would be good. I think that’s what these are. Seems to be a common size for clamps. There’s little pins that drop into the holes too to help line stuff up. They might be a little hard to see in the video, but it’s how I set the two shelves parallel to eachother.
Great video man. I could save you some time on taping the back side of that tape and just send you my cat. Stick it to him once and it will be nice and fuzzy on the back side.
But then I’d have a cat…

A smart man would just stick the pattern to a piece of paper instead of wasting tape.
