I miss you Ray.. You’ve played such a big role in me growing up, watching you thrive and bloom in your garden. Even being a teenager, spending a day with you, Mike and the animals in the garden sounded like the most perfect day and now being 34, I still feel that way. I know it’s been a while now since you retired and I hope you are happy. When things go bad in life, right now I’m at a very low point in life after a devastating relationship and the breakup, I still find myself seeking calmness and safety in coming back to your videos. I don’t know if you realize just how much you have given us. It has always been so much more than just gardening videos. Thank you so much for everything Ray ❤

I found your channel when i was 12 or 13 years old…. Now im 23 getting my degree in ornamentals and turf grass with a fiancé and a kid on the way! I learned so much from you and got a job at a nursery for 5 years where i took what you preached, a way of being rational and calm in the approach you have, recommending and teaching them what you taught me. Did you know I started watching you my sophomore year of HS? I just graduated college after 4 years the other day. My first time cooking enchiladas was because of you. The video you posted using your family's recipe. I cooked it over and over again. Couldn't get the sauce quite right when I was younger, I would always burn it. I revisited that video today, and saw this video. My English has gotten soo much better now that I can actually understand everything you're saying now. You were part of my teenage years, watching you after school after a stressful day. Thank you for sharing yourself to us and letting us in. You have no clue how much you helped me, especially during my lonely years. Also, I never make Enchiladas unless their your recipe! Good luck!!!

Gotta say even after two years, I still miss seeing you and the animals and the gardening results. I especially remember the turkeys that followed you like amorous puppies. Do you still keep birds of all types. Perhaps one day you'll pop up a few dozen pictures of your place and your animals and gardens, etc. I know you didn't have close neighbors in your neighborhood, but we were your neighbors, Mr. Ray. Hi Ray, I hope you are still checking comments. This year I planted Praxxis cherry tomato and Ray’s Mule Team tomato seeds, and they grew! I have several of the cherry tomatoes growing, and they are amazing. Dark green, super healthy and nothing eats them. No disease, and absolutely full of little green tomatoes. Every time I water them or pass by I thank you for the seeds, and the years of your videos that led me to start gardening. Everything is in pots or tubs becaus I have limited space and can’t get on the ground, but it works! Thank you thank you thank you. I hope you are well, and still hope for another video one day. Finally a UA-camr who cares enough to tell his audience he’s leaving. Ray knows what its like when videos suddenly stop with no explanation! Many channels I subscribed to have done that. Subscribers start commenting hey is everything ok,etc and they get no response. I’ve seen a few come back months later sometimes a year later and don’t even explain what happened. Then they disappear into the corn again. Not a good way to treat ppl IMO. I don’t want Ray to retire but at least he is considerate enough to let us know. The door is always open if he chooses to return!

I believe I started watching you when I was around 12 or 13, about 9-10 years ago. I remember my favorite videos were the mango from seed and cocoa pod videos. I even sent you rice that you grew for a short time several years ago. As a kid it was amazing to see you growing something from my families farm. I suppose I'm kinda rambling now but the point I'm trying to make is that for the better part of a decade I've been watching your videos. In that decade everything has changed so much, family and friends have died. New ones were born. I've been through breakups and nee relationships. Moved more times than I care to remember. Went through some bad times and some good times. But through all of that I could always count on you. Whenever I was going through a rough time your videos could help relax me. If times were good your videos just made them better. I'm sad to see you go but I'm happy if you're happy. I'll still be here watching your videos though. Hi Ray. I just watched your last video. I have to admit it made me both happy and sad. It’s been a year since I’ve watched you so I didn’t know you had stopped filming. My husband passed away a year ago and I stopped watching but as things are settling in I came looking for you to see what was going on in Iowa! Lol I basically just want to tell you thanks. In the two years leading up to his passing I quit working to stay home and care for my husband. I also suffer from depression which I could not treat as I no longer had insurance so I went through some pretty dark days during these last few years and your videos and just listening to you talk helped me through the dark times. So thank you for being you. How I happened upon your little oasis in Iowa I don’t even remember but I’m sure glad I did. Today IS good day!

Ray, I'm going to miss your videos so much. They have been a constant source of comfort to me for the past near decade that I have been dedicatedly watching. I have seen every single episode from both channels. I have taken you with me throughout all the ups and downs, and all the moves, and all the gardens I have had. I do hope you decide you miss filming so much that you decide to come back, even if it's just for a yearly update on the farm. I would love that. But I totally respect your decision to do what you feel is right. I started watching you in 2011. You were the first person to teach me about compost and compost tea. Life got in the way around 2015 and didn't watch as much but I enjoyed all the wonderful knowledge you shared. I enjoyed your seed swaps, hearing stories about your mom and Mike, and watching your cooking videos. I remember your big move to your current place. Dearest Ray Haven’t been around for a while as I was taking care of my husband until he had to go into a home for people with dementia. He if finally at peace. Passed away in 2021. I had to move in with my daughter and her husband in Bradenton Fl and it has been quite an adjustment. Hey Ray! Hope retirement is going well and that you're enjoying life! Just wanted to stop by and drop a short little thank you message. I won't make this super super long but it's fair to say your channel literally changed the course of my life. It was about maybe 12 years ago when 10-year old me stumbled across your channel after some activities at school got me interested in gardening. I would spend hours just sitting behind the family computer or the new fangled ipad watching your videos. For the next few years following that, growing plants and gardening became my thing, and even though I lived in a small apartment I was able to grow tomatoes, okra, carrots, lettuce, a strawberry (i bought the plant but took care of it) and so many others I can't even recall them. And even made my own version of your compost tea from old eggshells and banana peels that stunk to high heck and my mom would always yell at me for but the plants loved. In my teenage years though my interest sorta waned, and I even recall coming over to your channel a few times to leave nonsensical or trolling and even if those days are long gone and you probably don't remember them, I'd like to say sorry about that. Nevertheless, your channel gave me a life-long interest in plants and biology in general. Especially the way you would repeatedly describe how organic fertilizers worked, where you would be feeding the soil microbes and the whole ecosystem living in the dirt that then feeds your plants. Just last year I graduated from a biotech degree and am currently 8 months into my first job in the field looking into probiotics and things like that. I still have no idea what I'll pursue like most young adults. Research into cancer or becoming a teacher seem the most appealing (if I end up choosing the latter I'd like to borrow your style of teaching if you don't mind haha), but recent events have brought be back to gardening and rediscovering the goldmine of your channel. Boy, a lot has changed since then but planting seeds and setting the pots on my windowsill made me feel like a kid again. Thanks Ray for making me who I am today. I remember stumbling upon one of your videos from back when you were in Windom (I think that's how it's spelled), because I was growing corn, onions, and tomatoes in my backyard. I remember being so intrigued in your lifestyle and your perspective on life. I watched many of your programs along the years, and I grew up watching you make your life in Iowa and spend time with all your pets and in this little oasis you made for yourself. I found your channel when i was 12 or 13 years old…. Now im 23 getting my degree in ornamentals and turf grass with a fiancé and a kid on the way! I learned so much from you and got a job at a nursery for 5 years where i took what you preached, a way of being rational and calm in the approach you have, recommending and teaching them what you taught me. Did you know I started watching you my sophomore year of HS? I just graduated college after 4 years the other day. My first time cooking enchiladas was because of you. The video you posted using your family's recipe. I cooked it over and over again. Couldn't get the sauce quite right when I was younger, I would always burn it. I revisited that video today, and saw this video. My English has gotten soo much better now that I can actually understand everything you're saying now. You were part of my teenage years, watching you after school after a stressful day. Thank you for sharing yourself to us and letting us in. You have no clue how much you helped me, especially during my lonely years. Also, I never make Enchiladas unless their your recipe! Good luck!!!

Hi Ray, I hope you are still checking comments. This year I planted Praxxis cherry tomato and Ray’s Mule Team tomato seeds, and they grew! I have several of the cherry tomatoes growing, and they are amazing. Dark green, super healthy and nothing eats them. No disease, and absolutely full of little green tomatoes. Every time I water them or pass by I thank you for the seeds, and the years of your videos that led me to start gardening. Everything is in pots or tubs becaus I have limited space and can’t get on the ground, but it works! Thank you thank you thank you. I hope you are well, and still hope for another video one day. Finally a UA-camr who cares enough to tell his audience he’s leaving. Ray knows what its like when videos suddenly stop with no explanation! Many channels I subscribed to have done that. Subscribers start commenting hey is everything ok,etc and they get no response. I’ve seen a few come back months later sometimes a year later and don’t even explain what happened. Then they disappear into the corn again. Not a good way to treat ppl IMO.
I don’t want Ray to retire but at least he is considerate enough to let us know. The door is always open if he chooses to return!

I believe I started watching you when I was around 12 or 13, about 9-10 years ago. I remember my favorite videos were the mango from seed and cocoa pod videos.
I even sent you rice that you grew for a short time several years ago. As a kid it was amazing to see you growing something from my families farm.
I suppose I'm kinda rambling now but the point I'm trying to make is that for the better part of a decade I've been watching your videos. In that decade everything has changed so much, family and friends have died. New ones were born. I've been through breakups and nee relationships. Moved more times than I care to remember. Went through some bad times and some good times. But through all of that I could always count on you. Whenever I was going through a rough time your videos could help relax me. If times were good your videos just made them better. I'm sad to see you go but I'm happy if you're happy.
I'll still be here watching your videos though. I'll always be here just like your videos were there for me.

Hi Ray. I just watched your last video. I have to admit it made me both happy and sad. It’s been a year since I’ve watched you so I didn’t know you had stopped filming. My husband passed away a year ago and I stopped watching but as things are settling in I came looking for you to see what was going on in Iowa! Lol
I basically just want to tell you thanks. In the two years leading up to his passing I quit working to stay home and care for my husband. I also suffer from depression which I could not treat as I no longer had insurance so I went through some pretty dark days during these last few years and your videos and just listening to you talk helped me through the dark times. So thank you for being you. How I happened upon your little oasis in Iowa I don’t even remember but I’m sure glad I did. Today IS good day!

Ray, I'm going to miss your videos so much. They have been a constant source of comfort to me for the past near decade that I have been dedicatedly watching. I have seen every single episode from both channels. I have taken you with me throughout all the ups and downs, and all the moves, and all the gardens I have had. I do hope you decide you miss filming so much that you decide to come back, even if it's just for a yearly update on the farm. I would love that. But I totally respect your decision to do what you feel is right. I started watching you in 2011. You were the first person to teach me about compost and compost tea. Life got in the way around 2015 and didn't watch as much but I enjoyed all the wonderful knowledge you shared. I enjoyed your seed swaps, hearing stories about your mom and Mike, and watching your cooking videos. I remember your big move to your current place. I just want you to know how wonderful I think you are. If there were more people like you this world would be a much better place. I will continue to watch your videos and I wish you many blessings!

Haven’t been around for a while as I was taking care of my husband until he had to go into a home for people with dementia.
He if finally at peace. Passed away in 2021. I had to move in with my daughter and her husband in Bradenton Fl and it has been quite an adjustment. I just saw this and wanted to tell you how much I loved your videos and wish you well and much happiness. I will never forget you and will miss being able to follow along with your videos! Just wanted to stop by and drop a short little thank you message. I won't make this super super long but it's fair to say your channel literally changed the course of my life. It was about maybe 12 years ago when 10-year old me stumbled across your channel after some activities at school got me interested in gardening. I would spend hours just sitting behind the family computer or the new fangled ipad watching your videos. For the next few years following that, growing plants and gardening became my thing, and even though I lived in a small apartment I was able to grow tomatoes, okra, carrots, lettuce, a strawberry (i bought the plant but took care of it) and so many others I can't even recall them. And even made my own version of your compost tea from old eggshells and banana peels that stunk to high heck and my mom would always yell at me for but the plants loved.
In my teenage years though my interest sorta waned, and I even recall coming over to your channel a few times to leave nonsensical or trolling and even if those days are long gone and you probably don't remember them, I'd like to say sorry about that.
Nevertheless, your channel gave me a life-long interest in plants and biology in general. Especially the way you would repeatedly describe how organic fertilizers worked, where you would be feeding the soil microbes and the whole ecosystem living in the dirt that then feeds your plants. Just last year I graduated from a biotech degree and am currently 8 months into my first job in the field looking into probiotics and things like that. I still have no idea what I'll pursue like most young adults. Research into cancer or becoming a teacher seem the most appealing (if I end up choosing the latter I'd like to borrow your style of teaching if you don't mind haha), but recent events have brought be back to gardening and rediscovering the goldmine of your channel. Boy, a lot has changed since then but planting seeds and setting the pots on my windowsill made me feel like a kid again.

Thanks Ray. Even though we've never met, I consider you a friend. You're like our gardening Mr. Rogers. Loved the journey you've taken us on, loved all the advice & tips you've shared with us. I can speak for most when I say I'm a better gardener, and more importantly, a better person for being a part of this ride. Good to see you, Ray. Say Hi to Mike from us in Australia. :) I love the look of Hydrangeas. I'm like you, I grow plants or trees because its part of a memory whether childhood or of loved ones. I love fruit trees. I have a couple growing around my house and I'm still adding to my yard. I'm still around but am slack at times to keep up with everyone. Yes, I remember you from way back.I still keep friends from way back too. Every time I hear about the Praxxus tomato, I think of you, Ray. Big Hugs!
