My mother is from there. I remember the stories her and my grandparents would tell about Alligator Alley. My mother's family never called themselves Seminole though. We are Creek. Grandfather said we weren't runaways. We didn't run to get here, we are from here. Weird to go back and see how much everything has changed now.
I was raised in florida and went every summer to the what is now The REZ, and the Glades back in my day they were panthers as pets ,huts not a lot of homes we had a Seminole guide take us alligator hunting we called him a friend My Grandmother felt kinship towards them due to her own native ancestory we was always invited to six gun territory when they The Seminole would dance the Eagle Dance @the tourist attractions I don't remember never having fun with Our friends the guide was a man named Indian Joe best alligator tracker and he was true blood Seminole ,Thanks for the memories
Florida use to be so beautiful with all the wildlife and nature. Now too much multimillionaire condominium development going on! I feel bad for the wildlife
nickcage633 no most of them moved from Florida a long time ago to places like puerto rico Dominican Republic and Cuba they were killed by Europeans though in those places
Rusell Shaw absolutely as I have many friends that live on the REZ in the Everglades today. I go there to visit every weekend, nothing but welcoming arms from everyone there. Any one can go down tamiami trail and see the tourist attractions still up to this day.
All of Florida is the Everglades. Its a shame the everglades and aquifer are degraded by agriculture and invasive species. And despite the racist tones in this video, it was still very cool to see the traditional dress and customs.
Agriculture is and was the lesser of the problem!! Invasive species is the only real problem at hand, by Invasive species I mean too damn many people moving here from other states!
I’m just here to let y’all know. That the real black Seminoles are in your every day hoods there are in Florida today. Don’t let these people lie to you, we’ve been here all they have done is replace that with pale skin Native Americans.

Funny how people who wouldn't last long in the Everglades called them primative.
