Honestly, it'd be a twist if the Sabbat were in league with the Allies and were closely working with the Manhattan project to make a weapon to destroy the elder vampires, while the Camarilla were in league (in Europe at least) with Nazi Germany because they saw them as an effective means to keep the kine in line and to provide them with a stable food source (the camps).
That would be really good. I think a big trap the modern version of VtM lore has fallen into is trying to make out the Vampires or at least the ones you can play as, as good guys. They aren't. They are at best ambivalent, outright evil, or beyond human morality. So trying to make out any one group of vampires as good guys is a fools errand. Neither the Camarilla or the Sabbat would participate in World War 2 unless it served their interests in some way. Regardless of which side they picked.
Camarilla cares about masquerade, so i doubt that idea of camps for blood dolls would ever cross their minds with all the risks involved. And camps as stable food source? Bruh what? In camps ppl were worked to death, dirty and extremely malnourished, daily death count would be in double digits, if not triple, what part of that sounds like a stable source of clean and fresh blood?
It'd make a lot of sense. Although, it'd also be interesting seeing infighting with Camarillas from different countries siding some with Allies and others with the Axis.
A ww2 masquerade game would actually be awsome. From what i read the factions were all over the place. Camirila and sabat n@zis worked together some times. Most of the factions tried to stay away from the war saying its human problems.
The mod devs seem to have been more interested in making a WW2 story than they were in making a VTM story. Take away the vampires from this plot, and it really wouldn't change much. Anyway, good review. I felt it was honest about the mod's quality while still being fair to it for being a mod.

I swear ! That mod alone ! Is not only pure ambitious, but also the very fact they ACTUALLY use an IN-DEPTH CHARACTERS WHO ARE SO CLOSE TO VTMB 1 characters personality and real life . But also they use a truly interesting people and plot and promise and it’s ultra realistic when come to world of darkness experiences, remember they actually made this models and asset as well as many approaches! I won’t go into plot but good lord! I swear to the almighty above that it’s well done I will happily finished the game if wasn’t for bugg! But it’s really amazing game.

IIRC , in ww2 everybody backed the axis , although some do regret it now . Werewolves fought because they always fight etc , mages thought germany would easily win and the sabbat and camarilla went with the flow . Hell , Heimrich Himler was a tzimicze , they couldve added him for depth . So much potential wasted , jeez. The best hope is for somebody to get those voice AI programs and do some major gameplay , scripting , story overhauls.

There's a few, but most of them supplement the base game rather than completely turn it on its head like this one. I might end up checking some more out. And thank you! Not sure of how great of a voice actor I would be, but i think it would be really fun to record some VO for a mod, for sure!
across all source games the only hardcoded thing is the core in HL2:Episode 1. the ambience controlled by a single .txt file, which is just a list of entries you and add or remove. I'll bet it is a case of "undercooked", all of those things can be fixed or changed. they should have scoped for a much smaller instead of "whatever gets done whenever"... but then again it is for VTMB 2, even if it is "done" by 2040 people will still play it :D
True enough. It's one game that simply won't die - which is certainly not a complaint! And if that's the case about the .txt file, then there's even less of a reason why some of those base game elements should be present in the mod. Wasn't aware of how the engine handled that stuff.

Just found you, think you'll do a vid on Antitribu? I was thinking about installing it, but it looks like only half the planned content got done and it hasn't had an actual update in nearly a decade.
It's on the list. Have a couple other projects ahead of it, but I'll very likely get to it at some point. Last I heard, they were working on an entirely new campaign, but that hasn't happened yet.

I do appreciate the ideas with the VTM War Games mod as well, but unfortunately yeah it's pretty mediocre due to the amount of problems that you already mentioned. And to make it even worse is that it also suffers with constant game crashes. Which happens quite often to the point it makes the mod unplayable.
This mod is probably the more ambitious mod for bloodlines, the voices are awful, car models and stuff are impressive, the history is not bad. I not agree with your review... Looks like you compare a amateur work with a AAA studio games... Seems that nobody remember who buggy was vanilla game at launch...

I actually didn't have any issues with crashes, thankfully. It's just unfortunate that a cool premise is let down by bad everything else.
