I wanted to go to Music Uni, but ended up pursuing medicine cause i'm not that good in playing my instruments. 😂 but, ill say, university life isnt fun for me. Its stressful & traumatic. 😳😂😂 thanks for sharing this! Its heartwarming to hear your experiences. 😊

@@elishasablan6604 I was in my 4th year of an engineering degree and decided the whole thing was not for me due to the corporatization of the university. It's a bumpy road ahead by design that favors the players at the top(especially true nowadays with the mandates). I am pursuing my own interest and couldn't be happier.

The aural skills were also the worst part for me! Never done them until uni. But I think it is a very valuable skill especially if you need to do a cover and there is no sheet music available. Theory and singing was on the easier side but it still took a ton of work. We had piano classes as well at uni but at least I knew how to play piano. I like how you talk about how musicians should
be taught business skills. A class like that was supposed to happen at my uni but it never did. I ended up taking arts management as an additional major to my music degree. I haven't taken any weird classes lol at my uni. Since there were so many flutes I only played for a few weeks in orchestra every semester. I did not have any motivation problems with flute practice until my third year when my teacher said that I was "falling behind" when I could not play extremely difficult pieces such as the Chant de Lions, Dutilleux, Ibert Concerto, or La Merle Noir to name a few.

This was fascinating to know. I'd graduated from the usual science uni and have always wondered about how other unis not focused on science were like.
Also, it might just be my eyes, but it's honestly hard to read the thin pink text. TT_TT

I just got here a few hours after I watched TSV’s Music Uni storytime. The subjects you mentioned are similar to what they said, so I’m going to assume you went to the same school
    *the workshops solidified my assumptions

I am an amateur musician (is that a thing? learning since I was 10 but quitted the lessons after a few years then turned into self taught), or even 1/3 musician idk. Really curious about how the real life is for a professional musician, thank you for doing this kind of video! (Ps. I am from Taiwan too! I guess I messed up some grammatical errors? Pardon me.🤣)

1:45 ORAL SKILLS is not something you can just develop overnight. It takes months and sometimes even years of dedicated practice and awareness...and commitment to become good at it. 🤔😂😅 Did anyone else think she was talking about “oral”? 😮
