  • It's extremely important to clean the dryer fully including the sump pump pit. I found this out after having to replace the dryer sump pump after 6 months of use. In the video I show the entire cleaning process and how to access the sump pump pit.

Can't thank you enough for posting this video (especially the part about finding and cleaning the sump pump area). I was still getting a "DR" message on the display board even after cleaning the two pull-out sections. Once I thoroughly cleaned the sump pump area, light is gone and all is well! You saved me a service call for sure! I'll pay it forward! You Rock Rob!

Thank you so much for this easy-to-follow tutorial! Like others, I didn't know the sump pump existed back there (or needed cleaning) and after many years of use, ours really needed a good clean. It wasn't an easy reach as it's floor based, but I now have a much better working, and smelling, dryer!

Thank you so much! I clean most areas of the dryer, but didn't know about the area underneath. I removed a bunch of lint and the dreaded DR code is gone. I am living paycheck-to-paycheck, so your video made a huge difference for me!! Thank you!!!!

Just purchased a Bosch 300 W/D and wasn’t sure about the maintenance on them until I found your videos. Great job on being thorough and informative. Thanks!

Thank you so much for making this video, I've been doing appliance repair for 22 years and had never came across one of these dryers. I do you tube videos too, so I went to you tube and found this video. I got the call done and made the customer happy.

I’ve been having trouble with our dryer for MONTHS! Stopping after 5 minutes with a DR error. Could not figure out what was wrong. This video solved our problem!! Thank you so, so much for posting this!

Hi Rob. Thank you from France. You saved my dryer and made it work properly again after having problems during almost a year and finding no good solution elsewhere. Thank you so much.

This is our dryer since we bought a home last fall. Cleaning the heat exchanger and area behind it monthly has maintained it for us. Then it wouldn't finish a dry cycle, beeping after about 6 minutes. We could always reset it but it was frustrating. Taking the sump pump plate off and cleaning it out with a wet vac did the trick, just like this video shows. We have new sensors ordered but the clogged sump pump was the issue! The Bosch manual we have doesn't do a good job of explaining how to take sump pump plate off to clean. Hopefully they added that to newer models! Thanks for the video!

Great video . moved into a apartment using this washer dryer set unit. it really helped me find out what to look for and how to clean it all. sure enough they dont clean the insides of the filters and upon moving in today i found all these areas heavily clogged with lint and dust. thank you for turning me into a handyman for a day.

Brilliant video! I clean the lint basket and filter regularly but nothing in the manual talks about the sump pump. Showing how to remove the plate inside was very helpful. Without the video I would never have gotten it out. Once you know how, it's not too bad to remove. Thank you so much. Sadly, I still hate my dryer and having to clean the sump pump didn't help at all with my feelings about the dryer but thanks to you, it's up and running again.

Had my dryer for over a year and just saw the drop down door the houses the filters. Wow, so found your video which is so informative, would never had figured out there is a sump pump!!! Your video was good for not only removing components - but figuring out how they go back. I had so much dog hair / lint in the back compartment, which is a sealed unit, that when I spray washed it outside I could not get all the soggy clumps out. Tried my tweezers, not long enough and then got a pair of wooden take-out chopsticks, ideal!! Thank you Mr. Rob.

I don't typically comment on YT videos but this video was so helpful. We bought our house along with the washer and dryer that were there. For two years I was getting the DR error on almost every load. This video showed me how to remedy the problem and we have had months of error free drying. Thanks so much!!

Have this setup in my Apt. Dryer was stopping every 7 minutes. Looked in manual to see the DR code was lit on display panel.
