Here’s my problem with watching a PGA tour event: you are watching a series of commercials with an occasional golf shot thrown in. Even in some of the majors. LIV is just the opposite: lots of golf but few commercial interruptions. At least that’s my impression.
Listen you old dinosaur they're not watching the TV they watch a thing called devices but you wouldn't understand you are goose 😅😅😅😅😅@@ericjencson9489
Dont need commercial money when you have a pot of billions, the saudis are hellebent on getting into golfs inner circle, this is a drop in the bucket in terms of money spent, look what they did with soccer in europe, how much they paid ronaldo for two years. Its inevitable, your comment is not wrong, its just that people are under estimated what LIV golf really is.....@ericjencson9489 your generation is out dated and can't get with the times, old people saying old people things and staying ignorant to the facts. I don't think they're after you're viewership demographic 😂 they want the people that are gonna be here for 50 more years.....
I follow golf and look up shot trackers, etc, to every event, but watching it gets draining really fast because the rate of commercials is outrageous. It boggles my mind that advertising is still performed in this ridiculous way (aside from golf I don't watch anything with commercials) and the commercials have significantly increased since there inception. And the golf channel is a f**king cable channel that usually requires one of the more expensive subscription packages to get, so why half of it's running time is commercials is beyond me. I realize it's to generate money, but once it has a 50/50 commercial ratio. it's unwatchable I can't believe this format is still used where commercial run times can be nearly a minute long. Mention the product and move on. I would think that advertising in the future would have been more product placement based, but I can't believe this primitive advertising model is still used. I've never been a hater of LIV and I've been in support of the players who went there since day 1, but if I'm honest with myself LIV at this point is not particularly fun to watch, even with less adds. I guess it's because the competition pools aren't robust enough at this point and the team component stuff is ridonculous. Perhaps if I started watching it regularly maybe the team element may come through. I follow the results though. The one format decision that I detest is the f**king music playing in the background. No one wants to hear corny pop music playing in the background. I even think it's more of a detterant to the public who may want to watch a LIV event in person... it certainly would be for me. At the end of the day I'm a supporter of the players, I could give a crap less about whatever crooked organization houses them.
NBC said they would show more golf, less commercials. What they actually did was air MORE commercials and show less golf. Plenty of scenery, folks out in the water, flashbacks, etc. And "Playing Through" doesn't count as showing golf. Sorry. I recorded the Open, mainly because of the time it was aired. But I record every Tour event so that I can skip the commercials, so I know the normal length of commercial breaks. NBC normally has a 2.5 minutes commercial break on the usual PGA Tour event. For the Open the commercial breaks were an average of 3 minutes. So NBC has no problem lying to viewers and doing whatever they like because they believe they have a captive audience. Add to that the broadcast anchors are the worst of all the announcers of the telecast. And you wonder why viewership is down? Because coverage is a joke. People are waking up to the fact that the viewers are not NBC's customers, the commercial sponsors are.
The problem with the PGA Tour now is that all the players are automatons. “Sports Psychologists” have taken all emotion out of the game. I have been watching Bryson’s channel for a while now but he really took off when he let his emotions show during the PGA Championship. And I really think that is why he moved the needle so much for that final rounds of the PGA and US Open.
You are right there are very few players with 'personality' nowadays. LIV does have a good proportion of those. There's a number of good YT influences in the UK, are they included in this new tournament or is it US only?
Most, not all, but most PGA players all “seem” like the same guy. Honestly, I’d rather watch Tiger shoot 76 than 85% of the rest of the tour play at all.
The only way I watch any PGA events is with the featured group coverage. Main broadcast down the stretch only. LIV golf aside from the music is better to watch.
I think this is a good and interesting idea. I absolutely love golf, but the proportion of advertisements versus play, and the coverage of different players, is what keeps me away. There has to be a new model, and Europe seems to do it better.
@6:48 It needs to be on UA-cam Live, if this is a creator thing. With those broadcasts people around the world get screwed. Why are you not mentioning Grant?
100 % agree ,,, having DSTV /cable has gotten so expensive here people have cut their subscriptions off which means no sports TV. However the majority has wifi even those in locations, streaming from UA-cam would 100% up viewership ratings for major events no doubt.
I think they are trying to add more off a fun element back into golf, At the moment all the players on the pgat are so boring, I went to the open on the Saturday and not one golfer was even going near the kids to sign autographs, I took my 8 year old golf crazy son and he stood at the autograph section at the practice ground for hours not one player came near. The highlight of his day was getting a little nod from scottie when he shouted come on scottie, i was so disappointed that bryson missed the cut as you seen how much time he gives to the fans especially the younger fans, the other golfers need to learn from this if they want to keep young fans engaged. Bringing in creators to attract younger viewsers but it will do nothing if the players don't do their part.
Too complicated. Its simple. The investment into the actual TV broadcast time and style is unacceptable as it is currently. I dont want to watch 8 people all day. I dont want to watch 3 par 3s all day. Let me change this statement. I WILL NOT
PGAT is just a glorified Korn Ferry with an occasional appearance from Rory or Scottie . They need to find a combination of the tours cut back to top 90 players and bring back Monday qualifying. And with sponsors jumping off like flies ,cut back to 3 tournaments a month instead of every week
Get Max, Colin, Ryder on the film and let them produce the video. Their style of content is infinitely more entertaining to watch then PGA production lol
If I see this, while I'm looking for something to watch, I might watch. I don't think this is must see TV. I also don't think this is a MAJOR Announcement by the PGA Tour about its future. Nothing major about playing nine holes.
The Creator Classic might be an opportunity for the PGA Tour to invite Bryson DeChambeau to participate, and in so doing, start building a bridge to LIV. I don't think he should be a player, but he would be an amazing on-course interviewer!
I watch golf every day. Pga is tv, end of story. Nobody is going to watch on streaming service. Pga is done until it stops the gate keeping. Most people, myself included, don't know or care about any form at any level of the pga.
I watch it all (PGA, LPGA, DPWT, LIV, NCAA, and even the Champions Tour), it's easy enough to find online for free but the commercials on all but LIV is simply out of hand.
@TMar1961 liv on app and youtube has no commercials. CW on rebroadcast does, but that's just any tv. which I only have because they make me lol. I try and watch all that, but it's paywalled. Plus my kids think pga is for old folks. Yet they each cheer for a liv team
Sorry, but I don’t watch a telecast because of DeChambeau. One comment said all the personalities are at LIV. Garcia, Reed, Hatton, Koepka and a few others. A bunch of whiny complainers.

Great observation
It's exhibition golf and nobody is watching. You don't need commercials if nobody is watching.

I don’t have cable nor do I pay for subscriptions, so I just watch the highlights of tournaments on UA-cam.
PGA tour is mostly dead ... LIV is kicking ass and will change the face of golf forever worldwide .
I think this is a good and interesting idea. I absolutely love golf, but the proportion of advertisements versus play, and the coverage of different players, is what keeps me away. There has to be a new model, and Europe seems to do it better.
It's even bad on the ESPN+ early broadcasts, more commercials than golf.
The personalities are all at LIV events. The PGA tour is not in good spot going forward.
As Padraig Harrington predicted…. Bryson is BOX OFFICE ….you can’t argue with that.
@6:48 It needs to be on UA-cam Live, if this is a creator thing. With those broadcasts people around the world get screwed. Why are you not mentioning Grant?
8,6 k views atm. And they don’t even mention , grant, Luke or Peter finch, their bubble is small
100 % agree ,,, having DSTV /cable has gotten so expensive here people have cut their subscriptions off which means no sports TV. However the majority has wifi even those in locations, streaming from UA-cam would 100% up viewership ratings for major events no doubt.
Sounds good, but if covered like a PGA event, it won’t go well.
Yup
If the PGA smother it with excruciating commercials every 8 minutes…. Then it can’t compete with interruption free LIV broadcasts
Everyone forgets about Brad Dalke and Luke Kwon. I believe both of those guys could make a cut
Sure as hell, I'll watch it
The British open is old but it's a different game. Links course with 20 to,30 mph winds is not fun to watch.
It's not complicated..they put half the rounds on streaming service and just have the big moments on tv..hard to keep track of honestly
Too complicated. Its simple. The investment into the actual TV broadcast time and style is unacceptable as it is currently. I dont want to watch 8 people all day. I dont want to watch 3 par 3s all day. Let me change this statement. I WILL NOT
I got tired of tiger being in all the featured groups at majors. Respect to the goat but come on leave those spots for guys in competition
Agreed
Bryson does have a great personality but also a rare talent. You are missing that important point.
Hopefully the players are mic'd up so we can hear some commentary from them
PGAT is just a glorified Korn Ferry with an occasional appearance from Rory or Scottie . They need to find a combination of the tours cut back to top 90 players and bring back Monday qualifying. And with sponsors jumping off like flies ,cut back to 3 tournaments a month instead of every week

It’s not down as far as you’re saying it there are different areas that people get to watch golf on that are not counted do your homework
The Creator Classic might be an opportunity for the PGA Tour to invite Bryson DeChambeau to participate, and in so doing, start building a bridge to LIV. I don't think he should be a player, but he would be an amazing on-course interviewer!
Lmao I'm not watching if he's not playing. What are you on about?? 😂
I watch golf every day. Pga is tv, end of story. Nobody is going to watch on streaming service. Pga is done until it stops the gate keeping.

@@andrewstone3502 you can find it online for 'free' or cast the app to the tv
I hope it doesn't look like PGAT event. If so, I won't be watching.🙉
Grant needs to work a high paying deal, without him it wont be successful.
You guys are so LIV it’s sick nobody watches open because of time change during the year many tournament had a 2.o to 3.2 rating compare that to liv
Sorry, but I don’t watch a telecast because of DeChambeau. One comment said all the personalities are at LIV. Garcia, Reed, Hatton, Koepka and a few others. A bunch of whiny complainers.
It's ok Mummy will tuck you in tonight and give you your dummy you little boy😅😅😅😅😅
Why are you whining and complaining about it? PGA TV is so fucking boring.
