As someone with complex PTSD it is so hard to overcome those patterns especially after they became a part of my nature and personality and it takes a lot of energy to actually accept seeing the negative side in every situation, it becomes draining at some point but I am trying my best to right them down, accept them and maybe replace them is just that my anxiety isn't really helping much. Thank you so much for this I really needed it, I will try my best and hope for the change!
Great video! Thank you for the tips. I'm currently studying psychology and really appreciate these. Especially the idea of not getting rid of negative thoughts but replacing them. I think that helps with managing the worry about the worry as well.
Great video! I just want to add a suggestion for all your videos. I wonder if you could get them professionally captioned. I am deaf and its easier for me to understand someone with them turned on. If you could look into doing that, it would be appreciated. Thanks!
Good video. Very relatable. Have you done anything on here about developmental trauma or complex PTSD? I am imagining that anxiety and depression and negative thoughts almost work on a scale where they get worse with time and age of development? Is there anything you might recommend to look at for treatment of these things if they are ingrained/long term issues? I actually came across your videos about studying for your degree as they were more relatable. I am an old git and a veteran attempting a psychology degree now. Cant say I’m a fan of study, especially with other issues going on😬😳
Thanks so much. I have actually yeh, we recently did a video on PTSD, you can check it out and let us know what you think. I think if not treated then over the long term PTSD may become more complex, however, that's very subjective of course (classic psychologist answer). Accessing a specialised therapy would be the best idea. Wishing all the best to you with your studies too, really hope it goes well

Thank you, I needed this. Is it possible for you to do a video on CBT for negative thoughts as well?
Thanks so much, really glad you liked the video. Yeh that could be good. A lot of what we discuss in this video is CBT related
Good video. I am a mental health nurse so refer to unhelpful styles on a daily basis 🙂
