Every cover she does is a complete immersion of her self into the meaning and theme of the lyrics. She is a little genius. She has ALL the tools she can use as required to perform whatever song. The pure genius is to put herself into the depth of the emotions intended by the poetry of the lyrics so she can bring the listener along to experience it along with her. She doesn’t just sing a song… she lives it and performs it. She can imagine the audience in front of her as if she is doing it live on stage. In this case the song requires her to be an alluring sultry almost sexy woman… and even as a 15 year old innocent teenager she can act so well… and has so much “Swag”, as you call it… that she draws you in and “makes us believe it”. This girl is fire. She is gonna be so hot when she grows up… it is gonna be scary. I personally believe she is going to end up being a top flight Actress, as well as a marquee headline singer. She knocks everything right out of the park.

OK, made up my mind. As 'Creep' was only a teaser, I'd suggest another song which is a proper start for your Haley journey: At 18 y.o. she sung "Like A Star", at home, just like you sitting in front of a cam and a mic, still a somewhat shy girl, but her voice is so sweet, it's melting me down... no crazy acrobatics like with Postmodern Jukebox, but a very intriguing rendition of a rising start, still before her days on American Idol... there are older recordings with her high school band which are great already, but for me somehow 'Like A Star' marks the beginning of recordings which are 100% Haley... such a tender, loving tune and voice... There are two video versions of this, one is the plain recording which is great of course, but if you want you could react to another video, it has the original video in the beginning and end, but during the song the vocals are in the audio only and you'll get to see a gorgeous slide show of Haley from a very young age until the time the video was made, such an amazing woman... this is my fanboy video :) - and so amazing in the end, when the visuals go back to the young Haley singing and after all the amazing photos you see her singing final part, so sweet
