Bio:
Andree-Ann Deschenes is a French Canadian pianist currently based in Los Angeles. Pursuing a strong interest in Latin American classical repertoire, her debut album titled “Cervantes, Lecuona & Nazareth” was released in 2015. Her second album, “Milhaud & Ginastera” was released in the summer of 2016 and has earned her a Silver Medal at the Global Music Awards in 2016. Villa-Lobos / Castro is the third installment in her series of Latin American piano recordings, and is currently available in physical and digital format.
Andree-Ann holds a Master of Music degree in Afro-Latin music from California State University Los Angeles, where she obtained several scholarships and is currently serving as adjunct faculty. She is currently completing a Doctor of Musical Arts degree at Claremont Graduate University. Prior to relocating to Southern California, she graduated with honors with a diploma in jazz performance from the prestigious Humber College in Toronto, Canada.

Unquestionably one of the very best performances of this arrangement.
When I tried playing this, I never imagined it taking 11 minutes to play at full speed. It feels like 3 mins to me haha such a great arrangement.

It's tango inspired in classical music like Chopin , Bach or even Stravinsky and some jazzy influences too . But it's a tango

Honestly, I can't even remember. I had to purchase it directly from a French publisher and have it shipped from France, because it's not really in circulation anymore through major retailers. I mainly use the PDF version for performance because the layout is better in my opinion, so I can't remember where I put my physical copy, but if I find it, I'll let you know which publisher it is. A google search should help, though.

Unfortunately, too many mistakenly read notes ... not played - read! ... agogics outdated and illogical - in slow themes there is no pulse of Piazzolla's tango ...sorry, not my favorite...
Yes, wrong notes. Parts played way too slowly. Also, too much pedal in places. Much better recordings out there.

Soy Argentino y es una ofensa lo que se creen con derecho a hacerle a nuestra musica. Adios Nonino es una obra de arte en si misma sin necesidad de decorar tanto con notas que destrozan la melodía. Algun dia los musicos tendran que aprender a tocar asi dejan de fastidiar con estos embrollos de notas sin sentido. Entre tocar esto y sentarse sobre las teclas del piano no hay diferencia. Ojala el que hizo semejante arreglo tenga la dignidad de aprender a tocar el piano (tomar una melodia y hacerla sonar, que es lo que deberia haber hecho aca)
