I've got the 16" version with the 2.5K and I power it with a single cable from my Mac Mini. You may not need the additional power cable if your computer's USB-C port can give enough power.
I'm thinking about buying this tablet, do you know exactly how long the included USB-C cable is? I want to make sure to order an extension cable if it's too short.
I recently got the Huion Kamvas 22 Plus. I previously had the Kamvas Pro 20 (2019) and the main reason why I chose the 22 Plus was the new 3.0 Pen tech. The main difference that I've read and noticed was that the pen nib no longer has a springy space inside the pen, therefore the nib doesn't push inside the pen why you draw. With the old pen I found myself straining my hand why drawing due to that springy feel. Now it feels like I'm drawing with an actual pen/stylus.
@@htsunmiku Honestly, I'd say it's worth it. I used to intentionally not use my old huion tablet because of the constant hand cramps and with this new one including the new pen, I haven't had a single cramp yet and I use it all day everyday.
@@BombaJead I also have a Wacom Intuos Pro as well as a Wacom MobileStudio Pro 13. Compared to the old Intuos Pro pen and the Pro Pen 2, the drawing experience feels nearly identical. @Orange Juice It definitely still works well. I use it for 3d sculpting in my day job and don't have any issues. I've used newer ones since and the general experience is much smoother, making mine feel old-ish, but when I don't think about it I don't even notice

At 2:25 you say that there is a mat screen protector. But on huions website they say it's etched glass. Is the etching just for the anti-glare effect and there is an additional screen protector on top of that, or did you mix that up and there is no protector, it's actually just the glass? Just a little detail I'm curious about. Otherwise great review. Really looking forward for a pro 16 2.5k review too, because I'm thinking about getting one.

I have this tablet and it's awesome. It does everything that I need and fits on a smaller desk. I use auto desk sketchbook for my program and it works great.
I just bought the Kanvas Pro 16. I found out if you're using the squid cable that you don't need to plug into a power adapter when you plug the USB back into your computer (which is required for data). The HDMI on the squid cable goes into the HDMI port. I have two other external monitors, so one mirrors the tablet through a splitter that plugs into my Macbookpro's USB C. Another hub that plugs into another usb C to my MBP, that one has a regular usb port which connects to the Kanvas squid cable. Ignore the power cable to the power adapter since the usb data cable will power the tablet. The usb data cable is required anyway, since the driver won't detect the tablet without it being plugged in (two birds with one stone). Hope this helps someone out there.
This video was so useful, as i originally was going to get a 16 pro, Then i saw this video and realised that a smaller tablet is better if you have smaller hands. Great video, keep up the good work!
So I've got this tablet and even tho I love it I have 2 issues with it. 1) Sometimes the pen randomly gets oversensitive and starts to click, move around and make lines without me even pressing it against the screen (removing the nib and putting it back in seems to solve it but I would like to know why it happens.) 2) Once in a while it happens that in a particular place on the screen, the line gets crooked even tho I'm making straight lines. If somebody knows the solution for those please let me know
I've been looking into the 16" 2.5K for several days now, unfortunately right now it's not available in UAE's Amazon directly so I might have to pay around 100$ extra. Am waiting for it to be available soon. Also, haven't seen many reviews of it online, I understand it's a new product but still. Will you be making one on the 16" 2.5K?
I had a question for you Brad, I recently bought a Huion Kamvas Pro 13 (2.5K), but when I got it the screen's colorful noise was extremely visible, a lot more visible then I expected. In your video I don't see the grain at all since it's not super noticeable, and the Wacom 16 Pro I've seen in-person is also like this, where it's only noticeable if your eye is right next to the screen. I contacted Huion support and they told me it was just like that, that it was normal, but I guess in your video the camera can't fully capture it. It's a shame because I really love drawing with it and the overall build quality is stellar, but no matter how hard I try my eyes cannot get over the visible colorful noise/grain. Love your video though! Very informative and well-detailed!
Dude, I'm glad I stumbled upon your comment. Like you, I was surprised when I received the package with this tablet, because I also bought this device on the advice of Brad. None of the reviews said that there is this noise on the screen and this is very bad. My eyes also get very tired from working on this tablet and I can’t work for more than 2 hours. However, it turned out only after the purchase, and I began to find reviews from other people that this noise interferes with them. And it’s not entirely clear to me whether this is a mass marriage and some part of the goods has such a strange effect? Or some people just don't notice the noise. Very disappointed with the purchase as I saved up for it for a very long time.
What does the grain look like? Do you mean the matte anti glare screen that is causing pixelated screen? I really hate that - I put in a matte screen protector for my Samsung tablet and removed it after a day because it made drAwing difficult with the grain and I couldnt understand what Im drawing anymore
@@strongerthaneverph It was multi-colored noise, where the matte screen made it so you could see the individual RGB sub pixels. I think it's because of the parallax (the distance from the screen to the glass), or maybe it's the material/process used for the pen display.
Mine just arrived today! There was hardly any reviews out there so I took the plunge, time to see if my purchase was a good one. EDIT: Thanks for justifying my purchase :D Going to set it up now!

Thanks for the review! Can you use these as a non-display pen tablet too? I know that sounds weird but I like to switch back and forth depending on what I'm doing and for ergonomics. I guess you could mirror the screen on a mac...not sure what to do on a PC?
I think this one is 399$, not 300$, aaaand you don't feel any difference in the pen because they've been using that same pen (pw517) since 2020 in their kamvas 13 and kamvas 16 tablets. So you've probably been using the very same pen before without even knowing it. There was a little more research to be done 😅
Honestly, the 16-inch ver is my dream Huion since my laptop only supports up to 2.5k lol. The only thing that's stopping me is that I don't know if I want to go all out for a display tablet yet in any case I might still end up preferring a screenless tablet... yes I already have the Samsung S6 Lite to experience drawing on a screen, but I'm still very torn about getting bigger ones like a 16-inch lol.
Hey can I ask you how good a Samsung tab S6 is? I am thinking about either buying a huion Kamvas, Samsung Tab oder Ipad. And which programs are good to use on the samsung? Since Ipad has Procreate and stuff. :D
Imo 16 is a very good size! I have the Cintiq13HD and while it is very good, my hand gets in the way of some stuff easier because of the size. But there are benefits to screenless tablets too (mainly they are more ergonomic, which is better for you in the long run, don't burn your eyes from how close you are to the screen and your hand doesn't get in the way).
@@cindyn4403 Late reply because this didnt appear in my notifs aaah but imo it's up to what ecosystem or app you want to use, or even your budget? If you already have a PC and dont care for drawing on the go, pick the Huion. If you absolutely want Procreate and dont mind using iOS, go with ipad. For Samsung Tab, there's frankly not a lot of apps, but Clip Studio is def the best for it! Samsung is what I recommend if file management and customization is your priority, or you want a portable tablet with the lowest budget :) So far I really like my Samsung! It works great with Clip Studio and I draw on it everyday
@@hoshipan_ thanks for the advice! Hi! Thank you so much for this great review ! I was wondering, do you know if it is possible to turn the display in order to have the button on the right? (I am left-handed and the buttons on the left would be a deal breaker for me...)

what are the minimum laptop specs required for digital drawing? I just bought a huion kamvas 13 and I have an i3 4GB ram laptop and am not sure if it's gonna be running smoothly
Nice video Brad, lately I've been looking at the Huion Kamvas 20, but I'm not sure if I should buy. Could you please do a review on the Huion Kamvas 20. I would really appreciate it.
I was looking at this and the Huion Kamvas Pro 16 2.5K. Comparing the two it seems that the 16" actually has fewer pixels but is $200 more expensive? This seems really odd to me.
I just bought this I have noticed in photoshop I have lag especially when I add clipping masks it can be quite bad. In Corel Painter and clip studio paint there is no lag at all. I have it connected to MacBook Pro 13 M1 with 16GB RAM
How’s the warranty with Huion? Displays can be really awkward with bad bad light bleeds, dead pixels, etc. Do huion respect their warranties? Or are their customer services basically MIA?

Yes we can. You can change the display settings in PC if I'm not wrong. My friend have this type of tablet and they can change the display tho
Rumor has it this works with chrome boo, is this true?
Samsung is what I recommend if file management and customization is your priority, or you want a portable tablet with the lowest budget :)
So far I really like my Samsung! It works great with Clip Studio and I draw on it everyday
@@hoshipan_ thanks for the advice! Tbh I especially relate with the "staring at screen directly for too long burn your eyes" bc that's what I'm experiencing with my Galaxy Tab haha, I can't stare at it for too long without some breaks every 10 mins compared to using screenless tablets xD Though if I ever get a bigger deskspace I def will consider the 16 inch ver since they seem better for the long run
Do u think i could carry a 16 inch one daily
And is 13 too small with the ui off
Why didn’t you gave attention to the buttons? It has one less button compared to the previous pro model and the standard Kamvass 13 model.
Hi! Thank you so much for this great review ! I was wondering, do you know if it is possible to turn the display in order to have the button on the right? (I am left-handed and the buttons on the left would be a deal breaker for me...)
Thank you for this video, it made me buy this tablet!
thank you for your reviews sir.
Not bad for the price, I might like a 15.6 or 16inch one if they'll fit in my bag.
You don’t have a bag.. you need to stop

no slider and no mat glass. (its smooth glass with a protector on it thats matte).. isnt that a step back from previous pro?
can this work left or right handed with the buttons on the right or left??
And how fit the angeled cable on the desk, when you turn it 180°?
Its coming home in a few a days.
my hs64 needed an upgrade(which i also bought thru you), since ive never used a pen display i wanted to know if the screen surface gets scratchy over time and if applying a screen protector is recommended(idk how that will affect the pen pressure). thanks as always
Thanks man! Found a refurbed unit under $300. BTW, what is that thing you wear on your hand when you draw? Going to order a USB extension dingus for it. Thanks! Subscribed!
This video is what I needed. 💯
How have you configured the buttons on the Kamvas? What are the key bindings?
Great video, thanks!
I was wondering, is the screen based tablet ranking on your site up to date with your most recent reviews?
So which is better the old 13 or 13 (2.5k) ?
Would it hurt Huion to add some kind of illumination for the buttons?
i got a Kamvas 13 (didnt wanna pay more just for a slider) (kamvas 13 pro)
i draw in dark environment and its so easy to mess up the buttons...
Late, but I use mini glow n' the dark stickers. 😂
is 13 inch enough?
Wait this whole time I've been plugging both the black and red usb cables into my laptop 👀 is it better to plug the red into an outlet instead? (I have the normal huion kamvas 13 if that matters)
thanks tou very mutch. does support touch screen with fingers???
up for youtuber ❤
Hey Brad great video like always. Are you planning to review newest XP Pen Artist 24 (idk why but the newest version is without pro while the previous version was called pro) ?
Did you have the offset near the screen edge?
Yes! But only on one side 3-4 mm... 😞

I wanted to get into digital art, so this helped
what are the minimum laptop specs required for digital drawing?
I just bought a huion kamvas 13 and I have an i3 4GB ram laptop and am not sure if it's gonna be running smoothly
Hi Brad I read a review on Amazon that this tablet gets heated. Have you tried using it continuously.
I'd like to buy this for my daughter who is left handed, can it be used upside down aka all the shortcut buttons on the right?
I don't understand, nobody mentions how they removed the scroll wheel. Do people not miss it?
does huion have on screen commands... like the wacom drop down and radial menus
Amazing video as always!
I got the kamvas 12 and am really happy about it, maybe I'll upgrade to a bigger one but no time soon. :D But a nice stand is a must
Nice video Brad, lately I've been looking at the Huion Kamvas 20, but I'm not sure if I should buy. Could you please do a review on the Huion Kamvas 20. I would really appreciate it.
I was looking at this and the Huion Kamvas Pro 16 2.5K. Comparing the two it seems that the 16" actually has fewer pixels but is $200 more expensive? This seems really odd to me.
So the 13inch 2.5k ist better than the 16inch because of the Display?
Which will you recommend more 13 pro 2.5k or the Kamvas 16 2021?
Question - how do you rotate your canvas when using this given that it doesn't have touch
I love your content but please tell 128gb pro 11 inch 2021 enough for notes , gaming and drawing and I am student. love from India.
I just bought this I have noticed in photoshop I have lag especially when I add clipping masks it can be quite bad. In Corel Painter and clip studio paint there is no lag at all. I have it connected to MacBook Pro 13 M1 with 16GB RAM
Hey ! First buy here ! Should I get the Huion Kamvas Pro 13 (2.5k) or the X-PEN Artist 13.3 pro ? Thank you !!
How’s the warranty with Huion? Displays can be really awkward with bad bad light bleeds, dead pixels, etc. Do huion respect their warranties? Or are their customer services basically MIA?
Can it be possible to do animation on this one?
Hi, is this left hand friendly? can I like, use the buttons on the right and it will be ok? Sorry if the question is dumb, it will be my first tablet with screen. Thanks in advance.
Hey, great video! how do you feel about the Kamvas 16 pro 2.5k?
same specs, only difference are the dimensions of the tablet with the 16 being obviously bigger.
How is this for left handed people? Is it ok to flip it over?
hi, can you have the buttons on the right hand side, I'm a lefty...
This or the iPad pro? In terms of instant and lagness which is better?
Your website links to the 13” although it says 16”
Hope to see your review on the Samsung tab s8 ultra the thing is huge
I visited the website and it was $399 but in your video it says its $300.
I may have gotten the early bird pricing. Sorry about that.
Would you prefer a huion over a xp-pen artist?
2:43 "It's also a laminated screen..." "...some of those devices don't have a laminated screen and that is a really nice upgrade" just to double check, you're advocating for laminated screens or those other devices without laminated screens are better?
How can i get it to where i can see the canvas on the tablet. I only see the the canvas on macbook screen. Using Krita
Hey Brad if you had to pick between the iPad m1 pro or the surface laptap studio which would you pick
Do you think it’s good value for beginners? Or should I just get the Kamvas 12 instead?
Can you take the screen protector off?
