They both play the same festivals one would think they might have meet having mutual friends ,but this is the first stage I've seen both of them on together.
I think Michael Cleveland has managed to climb to the top of the mountain as all around fiddlers and violinists are concerned. This double album 'My Bluegrass Heart' is a once in a lifetime type of musical creation. These all original tunes are really modern Paganini. All of this stuff is highly technical and SUPER well composed. And there are VERY few musicians in the world outside of the artists associated with this album that can pull this stuff off gracefully. You can tell a great deal about an album by the fact that EVERY composition suprises you NO MATTER HOW MANY TIMES you hear it.
Especially live, there is SO much improv going on. Not many players can improve to stuff like this. I saw them a Milwaukee and I while Brian Sutton is a master he just didn't cut loose like Billy, and Sam can't keep up with Chris's picking, but he pulled it off in his own style.
Man, this ain't bluegrass.... Its bluejazz of the finest kind ! Fantastic stuff - how can you not love each and every player ! Im a new fan of Billy -what a great and humble player
Everyone is so good at their instrument. Just amazing. I like the holler from the man in the crowd who just couldn't controll himself. This is so beautiful.
What a twisted composition. Interesting changes: proof that the art is limitless. Bluegrass players and instrumentation…reminds me more Mahavishnu Orchestra or something further reaching. Love it. Amazing solos.
Was a camera not a phone. The acoustics there are very natural with little amplification,, thus the loud banjo overpowers everything else. The mic on the camera not strong enough to pick up .
Yes, it is highly technical but I just cannot make myself like the other kind. To each their own but not my cup of tea as it brings no emotions up in me.
I need more of Billy String and Chris Thile sharing a stage
I thought Billy and Chris were gonna start a dance party! Their energy was palpable 🤩😍🎶💕

I never thought in my lifetime I'd see Strings and Thile on the same stage playing together. This is absolutely awesome.

As good as anything that has ever been on that Carnegie stage!

I've never seen him before and this was just a simply amazing showout of who he is. Just amazing.
Was an amazing show!! Was my introduction to Michael Cleveland ... what a talent !!!
His band is good also. Michael also plays other instruments. I saw him play live and talked to him.
He's a monster on the fiddle!

Belà is the greatest creator in Bluegrass right now. A pioneer and genius, he outclasses nearly everyone he shares a stage with.
You see generations of bluegrass on this stage together, it isn't about any single one of them. It homage to the tradition.

that was my son
I got to meet Michael a few years ago, he's the real deal. Super positive and really funny. His playing speaks for itself, second to none
Thile is fast as lightning. My brain cannot fathom.
We all need more Billy Strings, and all our great loves of 🎶🎵🎶🎵🎶🎵🎶
Felicissimo!!!!!!!
Man - my hands would have fallen off a long time ago! Great stuff!! 👍😁

The young and not so old. Yeah!
A musical war between Thile and Strings would be mutually assured destruction. So I’m glad they’re in the same band lol.
Tour this lineup!! 🔥🔥🔥
Really!
Not sure I have heard Mr. Strings play this style of progressive bluegrass before. Obviously no problem for him.
Those are like the avengers of bluegrass.
No love for Mark Schatz? best damn hamboner out there also plays a mighty fine bass here
Hard to hear the mix from the crowd on a phone and the banjo overpowers everything, but amazing non the less

Billy and Chris is not a super group but a nuclear one
OK that was crazy.
🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

Just not good old bluegrass with feeling.
....Great great group, bad sound production....
sounds like noise
All music is noise just because you don't get it doesn't make it bad.
