I have been watching your videos for a few months now, and I have to say that applying the strategies you've laid out is having a very positive impact on my game. I used to play a lot of poker, decades ago. In the early 2000's, at the Jersey casinos and home games. I was always a tournament player, because I never was able to bring a big enough bankroll to play effectively at the cash games, or so I thought. After years away from the game, I've started playing in online tournaments at ACR over these past 2 months. Low stakes, of course. As of tonight I have a little more than doubled my initial deposit, winning around $75 in a tournament that I bought into for $1.65. And I did actually win the game outright. I'm actually considering looking into your paid courses, as I've been winning money as well as seeing final tables in the games I've been playing more often than ever prior. If by some miracle you actually read this, could you consider doing a beginners video about how to manage a final table, and effectively play heads up? That would be very helpful. And thank you for all of the info you've put out there already.
re: bad beats. yeah... its easy to" say " don't let them bother you". when it isnt happening literally 7 out of every 8 showdown you play at your home game for what has been a 2-3 month stretch, and *constantly* online. im SO tired of hearing about "math" and "variance" when the only variance seems to be a hand I actually win. its honestly hard for me to remember the last time I wasn't ahead in hand all the way down to the river and and my opponent spikes the river with whatever two-outer he is looking to hit. yes, im betting the right amounts ( per your suggestions ), even sometimes overbetting just to kick them off the hand ( which also clearly isnt working, because they just call with inferior cards). it doesn't make for a fun poker experience.
I play in a small stakes weekly game against 8-10 rec players. Two or three are aggressive/two nits/the rest play average poker with a fairly wide range....no real fish. On an average night i can come home with $50-$140 with a $30 buy in. I have started keeping track of wins and losses by writing it down as soon as i get home. This REALLY helps to adjust your game as needed.
I always try to extract max value with top pair on the river but be careful when facing a checked raise against recreational players . Aggression like that always mean a monster. Always oversold at that situation and don’t get marry to one pair hand
Yep...i regularly see them catch a set/straight or two pair. They hang on too long to shit. BUT...if you bet heavy to make them pay as they go you come out WAY ahead in the long term. They pay or fold when they dont catch it :)
7:07 I think a lot of players would barrel KT or even something like QQ to blow you off hands like KJ, KQo, K3 (counterfeit 2pair), etc if you're in late position preflop because they can eliminate AK, KK, AA etc from your range if you didn't raise at all ever in the pot.
Success in poker means controlling emotions, sticking to solid strategies, and learning from losses. Discipline and patience are your best tools for turning the game around.
Around 9:00 So, when you raise PF from early position and the board greatly favors the callers range (just say they’re in position) I don’t really see how C betting the flop makes sense? If they have any pair, they will call off easy. And even if they don’t have a pair, A lot of potential hands in their range will call with back door draws so hand reading will prove very challenging to determine if they actually have fold equity by your third barrel. if you’re Out of position with an strong PF hand that is not strong anymore such as the board you showed, then you’re gonna be in a real hard time if you should continue c bet or give up on the turn. Any good villians will begin bluffing on certain boards when you check the turn and or river and show weakness after they call the flop or be easily priced to bluff catch since polar bet sizes don’t make sense on these boards. Someone please help me with this question

Poker is not always black and white and circumstances change from hand to hand. So just because you see someone checking top pair doesn’t mean they’re weak. I rarely check top pair on the flop but sometimes I do on the river, especially if I’m at an aggressive table. Who wants to get check raised with top pair on the river? If I’m at a tight table I find myself betting top pair on the river more often, but even then it’s like 50% because lots of times betting top pair on the river is pointless. They will either call you with a better hand, fold or check raise you. But circumstances are constantly changing from hand to hand and there’s not always one approach to the game. The best poker players are flexible and can adapt to different players.
for tip number 2 half the time i check becuase anyone calling will always have better cards anyone folding will have worse cards we aint getting any value from betting i feel any 5 10 or pocket pair calls us
When can legit smile and laugh when you lose with pocket aces, you are at next level. But there is more. When you can take the bad beat with aces, kings, queens, sets, flushes, and straights for 6 weeks straight and still keep your cool, you just may be getting good at poker ;-)
I’ve noticed over the last 8 years that the person who raises pre flop loses the hand almost every single time like between 8-9/10 times which begs the question of why do people raise pre flop at all with that much going against them ? I’ve recorded thousands of hands at every level online and it happens every time it’s literally burning money can anyone explain this move to me and why people are willing to risk losing so often ?
Poker is a casino game, it's mostly based on luck. Just a handful of players actually make money from the game and even several pro's have been bankrupt on poker eventually.

The theory says that you're losing value, but the thing is if you were trying to play an exploitative against a guy who is playing a high number of hands and constantly builds big pots, you may try to limp them if you think he is absolutely raising
This is my own pov but I belive the single skill that transcends any other poker knowledge is learning how to fold. There is no poker talent greater or more profitable than folding, especailly when you are playing weak players because you can fold 40-50 times in a row and all you need to do is hit One hand and Always you will get a few takers. That One hand will usually put you in the Black and as long as you are patient you will be in the Black until you are surrounded by sillful players. At that point you better know what you're doing... Know what I mean?
I rarely get tilted, but it happened today, it was just the stupid unfairness of it all, I got sucked out on 3 times in ten minutes by guys who shouldn't have even been in the hand. TURN and RIVER.
Do not bluff the fish. The simple way of understand this concept is that whatever creative narrative you may have developed during the hand to support your bluff the fish does not understand it. They do not know how to dissect the details of that narrative to tell them that they are 'beaten'. The are unable to draw logical conclusions and consequently the complexity of your bluff especially if you have creatively supported that bluff, will have as much substance as breath on a Winter day.
Yooooo if you are c betting with a 50% sizing no way and no how should you be c betting anywhere close to 100% of the time. That c bet sizing is VERY outdated and is a massive leak that good players are going to exploit. Also if we are OPP we should be doing a ton of checking and not c betting. This is because if we check 100% of our OPP range we get to check raise much wider. C bet sizing is 25% to 33% of the pot followed by turn continuation bets of 65% to 125% pot depending on board texture, range advantage, and equity advantage.
Okay so I am only at the first one about top pair. I think you should phrase this differently. Something like "weak players do not go for thin enough value". Because the example you gave is simply bad. No hate, genuinely just trying to give constructive criticism. There are a ton of assumptions for this to be true. For example is this an SRP, 3 bet, 4 bet pot? is it multiway? First of all you have to find a spot where it is ok to play QJ off as a call preflop assuming this is an SRP. because you said he checked to you so that means you are IPP and just flatted preflop. So a low rake 7 or 8 max game or a game with antes is the only spot and it would be CO as the villain and you are on the BTN. Even then he checks flop that is a check back for you. Then he checks again on turn that you should be over betting pot roughly 120% pot. he calls. then he checks on the river GTOW shows that at a check 100% of the time with QJ off. So not exactly sure that specific scenario is the best advice. The idea that weak players do not go for thin enough value is VERY true but this is a poor example and is a mistake if played this way. Firstly there are almost no scenarios where you should flat QJ off IPP> It is just a fold. The only caveat to that is in VERY deep games 500bb+ but I prefer 1000bb+ then it becomes MUCH more valid. But those games don't run very often in low stakes with weak players like you are referring to. There are a ton of scenarios where you should not be value betting top pair. In fact i would argue that many weak players are betting their top pairs or over pairs when its actual a check. For example. Lets say we are UTG with JJ "hearts and clubs". We raise and only the BB calls. Flop comes 9 of diamonds 7 of spade 6 of spade. BB checks this is a spot where we check about 75 to 80% of the time.

It's just a way to build up the pot when you see preflop raises. You basically get no EV if you see people limping all the time.
9:00 c-betting most the time from an early seat is a license to burn money
