For those who are confused, we can listen to the RECORDED Quran while studying, working, driving, etc. Yes, it is different from DIRECTLY listening to the Quran (as in prayer, we have to keep silent when the Imaam is reciting al-Fatihah, and we can recite it afterward even when the Imaam is reciting surah laazim since al-Fatihah is compulsory to recite in our prayers) ^^ Being silent and listening with attention is our manners in respecting Quran (as mentioned in surah al-Araf) and it is not a sin to listen to the RECORDED vers of it while working as it is lighter than listening to it DIRECTLY ^^ Ofc you can listen to Quran before sleep and it is fine if you are sleeping with the Quran still playing ^^ Thank you, spread love .

To be clear and to remove the misunderstanding, we cannot refer and translate directly from the Quran if you were to talk about Surah Al-A'raf:204. As we know, the language use in Quran is very noble and high, and not for us to interpret based on our little knowledge. For what Ibn Kathir explained in his book, Tafsir Ibn Kathir (the highly acknowledged book with one of the most comprehensive and complete explanation of the Quran), Surah Al-A'raf : 204 is telling us to respect the Quran with manners, opposite of what the Quraisy disbelievers did to Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) while he was performing his prayer because they don't want others to hear what Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) was reciting. But, Ibn Kathir mentioned that this is only for the Fard (compulsory prayers 5 times a day), just like the hadith narrated by Abu Musa Al-'Asya'ri R.A. Still, have to put in mind that in Mazhab Syafi'i, some said this is Sunnah, and others have the opinion that it is compulsory (this mazhab is applied in Malaysia, not sure about other countries, you can refer to others if we don't use the same mazhab, I'm sorry in advance). To conclude, listening directly (mubasyarah) from the reciter has different hukm than listening to it from the recorded one, both has distinguished hukm on the listener and the reciter/Qari. I recite quran before I start my study/assigment (surah an-nur ayat 35 and several other) Then I listen to Al-Quran while doing my work. best pointer ever then, now I cant even listen to Al-Quran it take alot of effort to do it. my nafs getting bigger. Pray for me as I'm trying my best to fight.

Regarding the verse that you should listen to the quran when it's read: I'm very surprised at how unknowing some people are. You can't take a verse from the quran and interpret it the way you understand it. You have to read about what the mufassirun say about each verse. Other way something like this happens, everyone says something regarding his interpretation and that is dangerous. This way people get confused and our religion gets lost. As for this verse, Imam Ahmad, Ibn Kathir and many other scholars said that this verse is meant to be the recitation while Salah. So you can play the quran in the background and do stuff at home, you also can use it as help for falling asleep!

indeed! my family used to play Quran recitation while doing chores and its super calming . btw, i'm personally a hafidzah (alhamdulillah) and at my school (tahfiz ) we always let the Quran recitation in our dormitory most of all the time. so far i know, since 5 years studying here, there is no such prohibitation to play Quran as background while doing the other thing. perhaps it enrolled such a great vibe you can't explain,
Quran mentions these people ( either knowingly or unknowingly) , invent certain doctrines and try and delegitimize your faith with their arrogance ( again either knowingly or without knowingly) . They do this to feel like they’re better than you and closer to God, but in their hearts they do this for Worldy powers. Islam CLEARLY asks us to refrain from these comments unless we are absolutely sure and even then it asks us to convey this information so that the other person don’t get hurt.There’s a authentic hadith that tells us how Muhammad pbuh allowed one man to pray only twice a day infront of all his shocked disciples because the man complained that the 5 prayers were s bit too hard on him. He then proceeded to explain to his disciples that he only did that so that the man doesn’t get discouraged by Islam and inShAllah increase his number of prayers to 5. All of us Muslims who at times try to show how some other Muslim individuals are doing something wrong should really ponder if the devil’s arrogance takes hold of you when you convey this information.

It's a ni'mah to be able to listen to the Qur'an, the speech of Allah the Most High. If I may suggest you upload non-instrument nasheeds instead of Qur'an, as it's obligated on us to listen attentively to the Qur'an and not as something in the background when studying/doing chores. Think of it like this, if your mum or respected elder was speaking to you about something pertinent, would you give them your full attention or listen to them as background sound? Here, it is Allah speaking (Qalam-Allah); the best examples are with Allah, The Merciful. May Allah bless you and your family.

Regarding the verse that you should listen to the quran when it's read:
I'm very surprised at how unknowing some people are. You can't take a verse from the quran and interpret it the way you understand it. You have to read about what the mufassirun say about each verse. Other way something like this happens, everyone says something regarding his interpretation and that is dangerous. This way people get confused and our religion gets lost.
As for this verse, Imam Ahmad, Ibn Kathir and many other scholars said that this verse is meant to be the recitation while Salah.
So you can play the quran in the background and do stuff at home, you also can use it as help for falling asleep!

indeed! my family used to play Quran recitation while doing chores and its super calming .
btw, i'm personally a hafidzah (alhamdulillah) and at my school (tahfiz ) we always let the Quran recitation in our dormitory most of all the time. so far i know, since 5 years studying here, there is no such prohibitation to play Quran as background while doing the other thing. perhaps it enrolled such a great vibe you can't explain,
Quran mentions these people ( either knowingly or unknowingly) , invent certain doctrines and try and delegitimize your faith with their arrogance ( again either knowingly or without knowingly) . They do this to feel like they’re better than you and closer to God, but in their hearts they do this for Worldy powers. Islam CLEARLY asks us to refrain from these comments unless we are absolutely sure and even then it asks us to convey this information so that the other person don’t get hurt.There’s a authentic hadith that tells us how Muhammad pbuh allowed one man to pray only twice a day infront of all his shocked disciples because the man complained that the 5 prayers were s bit too hard on him. He then proceeded to explain to his disciples that he only did that so that the man doesn’t get discouraged by Islam and inShAllah increase his number of prayers to 5.
All of us Muslims who at times try to show how some other Muslim individuals are doing something wrong should really ponder if the devil’s arrogance takes hold of you when you convey this information.
