@@theprussianqueen Not quite. The Wyvern was part of the original three dragons promised during the Kickstarter of the game. The Bio dragon was one of the kickstarter goals. The acid spitter and blitz striker were conceived later and they're request dragons likely.
i wonder if the devs would consider extending the wing membranes further down the dragon's bodies. it would make it a lot more believable for them to fly than with the current spoon wings.
There have been a lot of back and forth debates in testing about that, but I believe the general consensus is that it’s too difficult to animate most of the time. (I’ve been in testing since the closed beta and believe me, if it exists as a possibilty, it’s been hotly debated down to the size and shape of the scale textures 😂)

@@scullduggerouscellaphod2355 indeed! DoD devs have really been trying for a sense of realism as far as flight and dragon functionality go. There are unfortunately still some things that are very very difficult to do with the current technology though.

The Blitzstriker’s roar and threaten has a thunderous sound at the end, like an actual thunderstorm or a distant explosion. It would be badass if you could hear the Blitzstriker’s thunder from a long distance away after it roars/threatens.
I feel the biodragons’s threaten should have it open its wings up to make it seem larger, as well as show off the eye-like patterns on its wings. It’d actually be extremely realistic, since several birds and insects do it in real life (especially butterflies and tropical birds, and peacocks)

The special ability is way like that, wich begs the question. Will we have new types of flame types. For example like a lickid like flame breathe that some dragons have?
Most of the pictures for upcoming dragons (saw them several months ago) are too heavily inspired by movies. One being the Banshee/Ikran from Avatar 2009 and the others being Httyd ones

They already have a Night Fury in the game. Now they have a Skrill and a Monstrous Nightmare. Personally, I love it. Have always wanted a good HTTYD game, and this is certainly no HTTYD game, but with the dragons so heavily inspired by HTTYD, it's perfect.
All that drama back in the day about this game being a scam almost made me not buy it but after seeing more videos that you’ve done on it I bought it and it’s actually a fun game.
It’s a problem that all small (non-AAA) games have. You can’t tell if it’s a scam or just a dev being dedicated with very limited resources meaning progress is slow but will end with one of the best games in that genre.

I backed the KS and I have hardly touched the "game." There's nothing to do, no gameplay loop. There is no game, just a shitty demo better replaced with an Impressive Title game since all you can do is move around and chat. If you kill too much the online mods get mad. What's the point?

Thats how every game gets developed just most of them dont let you play unless its fully finished. If you give it like 1 or 2 more years there is definitley gonna be way more content. Gameplay wise I don't see anything different from over a year ago. Still just a big empty desert... New dragons is cool and all, but is there anything to actually do yet?
I’d like to see eclipses implemented into the game. They’d be surprisingly common due to the relative size of the moon compared to the sun (it would completely block the entirety of the sun’s light). They’d do virtually nothing except make the nights almost completely pitch dark… unless you are some sort of new dragon. I am thinking they add another wyvern, or make an oriental dragon (which sounds cooler), that absolutely thrives and dominates during solar eclipses. Something like the “Eclipse Roamer” or “Eclipse Emperor” sounds cool. It could see during a solar eclipse (in shades of grey, but other species can’t see at all, or at least not far of they have some sort of glowing part of their body, so it’s still a massive advantage), and it gains a breath-attack unlike any other dragon: it shoots an extremely bright, large beam. It’s basically a hyperbeam from Pokémon. It can only use this attack during the occasional eclipse. Outside of eclipses, it uses a similar but much weaker version of the giant death laser. It does become _ever so slightly_ stronger on new moon nights, but it’s barely noticeable.
I'm honestly really happy with Day Of Dragons so far, it had a monumentally bad start but it's shaping up into something I'd probably play daily instead of monthly! So proud of all the progress being made!
Im so happy Day of Dragons is actually starting to make progress. It feels like only yesterday when I was let down with the news about the drama, but now everything has changed and DOD is beginning to meet expectations.
i rlly loved the blitz . friendly call has to be my ultimate fave because how it does that weird noise mixed with electricity . always love watching your videos when it comes to day of dragons and was fun hanging with u on the livestream also in the part where i said ' this is a dream come true ' it was indeed a dream come true playing as a wyvern here lol . the leuc zygovo was adorable
The Blitz Striker looks identical to the Skrill from How to Train Your Dagon. And also has the same lighting ability. Not trying to say anything bad I actually love this new dragon. Now if they were to create an awesome lighting attack ability and animation like the one the skrill has in HTYD that would be epic.
Im certain the devs took a lot of inspiration from how to train your dragon, because we’ve got the nightfury lookin dragon, and monstrous nightmare lookin one too. I’m not complainin tho lmao

This dragon called the blitz striker reminds me of the skrill over how it’s power is as well as being able to control electricity and being able to entirely blend in with the storm like the skrill does
@@mymymia29981. Jao already has made it abundantly clear that HTTYD is his fav movie and took inspiration to make the shadowscale. 2. Skrill has legs. The Blitz does not. 3. countless games and other medias take inspiration from each other ALL THE DAMN TIME, it's part of the game industry. You need to be able to understanding that and realize inspired medias can coexist with others. Uncharted and Tomb Raider did it, allow this game to do it too.

Pretty impressed how far the game has come, the part with the rain effects are actually so much better than I’ve seen in lot of games, along with the blitz striker genuinly impressed me!
Anyone else think that the blitz and the inferno ravaged look like their extremely influenced by how to train your dragon? The blitz is like a realistic looking skrill with the lightning ability in storms and the inferno ravaged with its full body flame is exactly like the monstrous nightmare and I swear they already have a dragon that looks like a night fury. I’m excited to play them tbh coz I’m a huge Httyd fan.
The thunderstorm call thunder could definitely use some work, just upgrade the lightning to look on the same level as the ones striking straight from the storm and also change that flat light texture, or make it so you can't see it's flat during flight, otherwise it's really cool.
OMG. THE SAND. If you move the camera angle to get a good look at the sand, you can see little bits of it blowing in the wind, which is how it works in real-life dunes! :D And they even have Amphithere?! Amphithere are some of my FAVORITE dragons, and they're so underrepresented so often, even by people who love dragons! I'm so glad they're adding them in! I love the scale texture!! The way the light shines off it is just AMAZING! :D Are you gonna be able to divebomb to go faster?? It's a technique a lot of sharks use (tilting downward to let gravity grant them extra speed), and I think Great Whites actually dive bomb to incredible depths to win mates, so that would be a really cool mechanic to see added in here! :D The attention to detail, too! I love how the Blitzstriker puts it's little claw over its snoot! :D This very much feels like the sort of thing where one person would be like "This is perfect, and there's nothing to improve upon" but the creator is like "Actually I'm still working on it." and then fix things nobody noticed was a problem XD I LOVE the bio dragon! The colors are astounding! :D
This looks amazing! I really want to play this now. I'm honestly kind of surprised there hasn't been more games like this. I mean I've seen a few, but they are usually no where near this. So excited!
those weathers look great, i hope they don't change the visibility level from what it is here, really makes it impactful (something other games tend to lack in their own weather effects)

I really want them to add like a water dragon that can spit out water blinding the enemies eyes or a drag ability like the swamp snapper that'd be really cool.
Fun fact a dragon is a large reptile type thing that shoots fire, A wyvern shoots acid or venom, the number of legs and wings doesn't matter but wyverns are most commonly depicted with 2 legs and 2 wings and dragons 4 legs and 2 wings but it is interchangeable.
I hope the devs create a Lindwurm/Wyrm as a playable variant of the Sandworm. Utilizing slithering under the sand or water without a sound, then ambushing.
with the blitz I was kinda thinking that maybe it wouldn't need to land slowly, like it could go straight into a fast slither supported by its wings/hands for a period of time, plus the added speed ties in with lightning.
I'm always keeping my eyes peeled for these day of dragons videos, as a player of the game seeing you play it makes me play the game right after. Can't wait for your next videos on this game and The Isle.
well, half that bad start was Anth and a few other youtubers calling the game a scam only a month or two after the Kickstarter ended, it smeared the games rep, but I'm glad the dev proved all that wrong in the end. Just wish it didn't start off with early assumptions of bad intentions

for the ige age rhino looking beast, i would say it could be called a Saxosa Rhino (did this in a translator, it means Rocky Rhino) i think it fits the creature well
Only think that i think could be a bit better is the weight behind the inferno ravangers run, like it’s cool but it would be even better if it had a bit more weight, not like such lights tap taps

The first two dragons look like they take inspiration from How to Train Your Dragon. 1st one is very similar to the Skrill except it doesn’t have legs. The second one is similar to the Monstrous Nightmare.
The lightning one reminds me of the Skrill from how to train ur dragons. It would be cool to have like a fire spinning move in the air so that it spirals when it's on fire just for speed or it could be an attack for the wyvern😅
I love how they take inspiration from HTYD, the original dragon is like Toothless, and then the storm caller is like the Skrill. Not to mention that in the show the Skrill is the electrical dragon.
They should bring it to console because this games looks so good and I wanna play! That snake with wings is definitely my favorite so far 😍 his body shape, and his design are just so me lol
The thunderstorm effects look great in UE5. I’d love to see these kinds of clouds and atmosphere in a game like War Thunder. The flight animations look really good as well. They really capture the way the wings would interact with the air. I’d love to see them take that further and introduce particle effects for the air currents caused by the creatures when flying near the ground or in clouds.

some of these dragons seem based off of HTTYD dragons with the inferno one being similar to the Monsterous nightmare and the stormcalling one being similar to the skrill
Man to think a couple of years ago we all thought this was a scam now it's showing the potential to be a game like no other and for an early access on steam it's relatively cheap on £15 for me here in the UK definitely worth it in the long run
what would be really cool is that if you did a certain call you could produce highly dangerous electricity around you, probably 15-25 ft around you, stunning and flash blinding those around you as a defensive move! hopefully they take some of the idea and use it, but this is really cool

What is there to actually DO in this game though? It it still just... fly around a mostly empty world and occasionally fight a creature? Has anything been added like... quests or objectives? Or is it still just... stay alive until you're an adult, run around.... fight a mob once in a while.... ?

They should add a hoarding feature, where you can collect gold and Little trinkets and build up your hoard, and The hoard can give you buffs depending on its size
It's a distinction without a difference. All wyverns are dragons, but not all dragons are wyverns. Just like all Harley-Davidsons are motorcycles but not all motorcycpes are Harleys.
I like how the wings not fully folded when it's on the ground and how it's moves on land but can't help it to see it's a wyvern without it's legs, maybe because I'm so used seeing amphithere design that looked like a simplified version of quetzalcoatl hahah
Excuse the local dragon nerd here, but i have to get this off my chest: The Blitz Striker is a Wyrm, not a Dragon. Dragons are quadrapedel in nature, that boy is legless, making him a serpentine Wyrm, which is a draconic subspecies called the Ampithere. Not saying it's not an absolute badass of an aerial predator, my OCD and Dragon obsession just wouldn't let it lie. Also, Behemoth is an oversized Drake; pretty much a wingless Dragon. Usually supposed to be much smaller and therefore easier to deal with, however, that big boy lives up to the name.
a wyrm or amphithere is usually considered a type of "dragon" by most people. so are wyverns. I know that dragons technically have 4 legs _and_ 2 wings, wyverns have back legs and more front-orientated wings, but no front legs, and wyrms have no legs and only wings, but people tend to use the term dragon to refer to all "draconic subspecies", including the 6-limbed dragons

But in general races of dragons, all have similarities. like plasma dragon will resemble the night furry who is also a plasma type. and it goes for all the other dragons. they got inspired by the species and made their own model of them and I love it (I feel like explaining don't mind me 😉)

So that fact paired with the fact that the Shadow Scale and Blitz are almost exactly like the Night Fury and Skrill, it only highlights the Ravagers similarities to the Monstrous Nightmare even more, even if its in a lesser degree that the other two. But honestly tho, despite it making them seem less original, Im perfectly ok and hyped for it tho. I mean, who wouldnt want to play as HTTYD dragons? Too awesome.

I can tell the developer team loves this game alot. Especially the Admin showcasing off the blitstrikers storm ability!
It looks similar to the skill from httyd with eyes close to the snout. Spines and lightning. Really cool.

This dragon called the blitz striker reminds me of the skrill over how it’s power is as well as being able to control electricity and being able to entirely blend in with the storm like the skrill does

3. countless games and other medias take inspiration from each other ALL THE DAMN TIME, it's part of the game industry. You need to be able to understanding that and realize inspired medias can coexist with others. Uncharted and Tomb Raider did it, allow this game to do it too.

The Blitz Striker’s roar and threaten has a thunder at the end of them. I’d be absolutely badass if you could hear the thunder from a massive distance.
Pretty impressed how far the game has come, the part with the rain effects are actually so much better than I’ve seen in lot of games, along with the blitz striker genuinly impressed me!

Anyone else think that the blitz and the inferno ravaged look like their extremely influenced by how to train your dragon? The blitz is like a realistic looking skrill with the lightning ability in storms and the inferno ravaged with its full body flame is exactly like the monstrous nightmare and I swear they already have a dragon that looks like a night fury. I’m excited to play them tbh coz I’m a huge Httyd fan.

The thunderstorm call thunder could definitely use some work, just upgrade the lightning to look on the same level as the ones striking straight from the storm and also change that flat light texture, or make it so you can't see it's flat during flight, otherwise it's really cool.
OMG. THE SAND. If you move the camera angle to get a good look at the sand, you can see little bits of it blowing in the wind, which is how it works in real-life dunes! :D
And they even have Amphithere?! Amphithere are some of my FAVORITE dragons, and they're so underrepresented so often, even by people who love dragons! I'm so glad they're adding them in!
I love the scale texture!! The way the light shines off it is just AMAZING! :D
Are you gonna be able to divebomb to go faster?? It's a technique a lot of sharks use (tilting downward to let gravity grant them extra speed), and I think Great Whites actually dive bomb to incredible depths to win mates, so that would be a really cool mechanic to see added in here! :D

I really want them to add like a water dragon that can spit out water blinding the enemies eyes or a drag ability like the swamp snapper that'd be really cool.
Fun fact a dragon is a large reptile type thing that shoots fire, A wyvern shoots acid or venom, the number of legs and wings doesn't matter but wyverns are most commonly depicted with 2 legs and 2 wings and dragons 4 legs and 2 wings but it is interchangeable.

I am just imagining a black dragon just as walking natural disaster when fully grown but takes a long time to reach it's apex.
I hope the devs create a Lindwurm/Wyrm as a playable variant of the Sandworm.
Utilizing slithering under the sand or water without a sound, then ambushing.
with the blitz I was kinda thinking that maybe it wouldn't need to land slowly, like it could go straight into a fast slither supported by its wings/hands for a period of time, plus the added speed ties in with lightning.
I'm always keeping my eyes peeled for these day of dragons videos, as a player of the game seeing you play it makes me play the game right after. Can't wait for your next videos on this game and The Isle.

well, half that bad start was Anth and a few other youtubers calling the game a scam only a month or two after the Kickstarter ended, it smeared the games rep, but I'm glad the dev proved all that wrong in the end. Just wish it didn't start off with early assumptions of bad intentions

for the ige age rhino looking beast, i would say it could be called a Saxosa Rhino (did this in a translator, it means Rocky Rhino) i think it fits the creature well
Only think that i think could be a bit better is the weight behind the inferno ravangers run, like it’s cool but it would be even better if it had a bit more weight, not like such lights tap taps
The blitz striker gives me goosebumps, I wasn't really sure if I was going to like it or not, but after the livestream I completely changed my mind and I'm considering buying the dlc as developers did a great job, new fav dragon? :D

The first two dragons look like they take inspiration from How to Train Your Dragon. 1st one is very similar to the Skrill except it doesn’t have legs. The second one is similar to the Monstrous Nightmare.
I just had an idea. What if the Blitz strikers have a annual migration to a more stormy climate? Maybe like rainforests?
The lightning one reminds me of the Skrill from how to train ur dragons. It would be cool to have like a fire spinning move in the air so that it spirals when it's on fire just for speed or it could be an attack for the wyvern😅

I love how they take inspiration from HTYD, the original dragon is like Toothless, and then the storm caller is like the Skrill. Not to mention that in the show the Skrill is the electrical dragon.

The thunderstorm effects look great in UE5. I’d love to see these kinds of clouds and atmosphere in a game like War Thunder.
The flight animations look really good as well. They really capture the way the wings would interact with the air. I’d love to see them take that further and introduce particle effects for the air currents caused by the creatures when flying near the ground or in clouds.

from what i heard to adult few hours like 6 hours but to elder is totally different story.
Amphitheres are my favorite species of Dragon, but one thing that would make it better is if it had feathers, though that is a lot of animating.

@@ChronicaErys guy got a bunch of money for putting together store bought assets...then hired an actual designer to make some more dragons...game has not progressed n its been years. I'm making games myself, it does not that as long as it is taking. Don't hold it breath for a full release

some of these dragons seem based off of HTTYD dragons with the inferno one being similar to the Monsterous nightmare and the stormcalling one being similar to the skrill
well HTTYD also stole its designs. Nothing in it truly was original.
Man to think a couple of years ago we all thought this was a scam now it's showing the potential to be a game like no other and for an early access on steam it's relatively cheap on £15 for me here in the UK definitely worth it in the long run

what would be really cool is that if you did a certain call you could produce highly dangerous electricity around you, probably 15-25 ft around you, stunning and flash blinding those around you as a defensive move! hopefully they take some of the idea and use it, but this is really cool

What is there to actually DO in this game though? It it still just... fly around a mostly empty world and occasionally fight a creature? Has anything been added like... quests or objectives? Or is it still just... stay alive until you're an adult, run around.... fight a mob once in a while.... ?
It's almost May 2024 and to update you, NOPE. Nothing new has been added. No quests, no new enemies. Only thing new is the map.

They should add a hoarding feature, where you can collect gold and Little trinkets and build up your hoard, and The hoard can give you buffs depending on its size
It's a distinction without a difference. All wyverns are dragons, but not all dragons are wyverns. Just like all Harley-Davidsons are motorcycles but not all motorcycpes are Harleys.

I like how the wings not fully folded when it's on the ground and how it's moves on land but can't help it to see it's a wyvern without it's legs, maybe because I'm so used seeing amphithere design that looked like a simplified version of quetzalcoatl hahah
Excuse the local dragon nerd here, but i have to get this off my chest: The Blitz Striker is a Wyrm, not a Dragon. Dragons are quadrapedel in nature, that boy is legless, making him a serpentine Wyrm, which is a draconic subspecies called the Ampithere. Not saying it's not an absolute badass of an aerial predator, my OCD and Dragon obsession just wouldn't let it lie.
Also, Behemoth is an oversized Drake; pretty much a wingless Dragon. Usually supposed to be much smaller and therefore easier to deal with, however, that big boy lives up to the name.

a wyrm or amphithere is usually considered a type of "dragon" by most people. so are wyverns.
I know that dragons technically have 4 legs _and_ 2 wings, wyverns have back legs and more front-orientated wings, but no front legs, and wyrms have no legs and only wings, but people tend to use the term dragon to refer to all "draconic subspecies", including the 6-limbed dragons

But in general races of dragons, all have similarities. like plasma dragon will resemble the night furry who is also a plasma type. and it goes for all the other dragons. they got inspired by the species and made their own model of them and I love it (I feel like explaining don't mind me 😉)

So that fact paired with the fact that the Shadow Scale and Blitz are almost exactly like the Night Fury and Skrill, it only highlights the Ravagers similarities to the Monstrous Nightmare even more, even if its in a lesser degree that the other two. But honestly tho, despite it making them seem less original, Im perfectly ok and hyped for it tho. I mean, who wouldnt want to play as HTTYD dragons? Too awesome.
