Some excellent choices. 2024 was such a good year for game releases because very few top 10 lists look alike. Mine would be: 1. Final Fantasy VII Rebirth - This is literally everything I could've asked for and then some. Part 3 can't arrive soon enough. 2. Dragon Age: The Veilguard - As someone who only got into the series with Inquisition then played the other two retroactively, I can say that each game is incredibly different but that's what I love about them. You really never know what you're gonna get. 3. Star Wars: Outlaws - Before this, the only other Ubisoft title I ever finished was Watch Dogs 2 so that alone should speak to its quality. On top of that, it's a Star Wars game where you get to play as a morally grey criminal who has ZERO connection to the jedi. 4. Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth - Decent story, decent side activities, but excellent top shelf gameplay with one hell of an English voice cast. 5. Bakeru - If you're like me and you've been waiting years and years for a spiritual successor to the Ganbare Goemon series then here it is. While Bakeru doesn't scratch that itch 100%, I am more than glad the attempt was made.
Astro Bot holy shit! I just started playing it today. Completley brings me back to the classic PS1 platformer days and Mario 64. This game is pure bliss. Great list Dan Dan! Looking forward to the new year of videos you killed it in 2024.
My favorite game of 2024 happens to be from 2016... "DOOM"... Got it for Christmas 2023, played it all friggin year, and loved every minute! I also can't mention "DOOM" without mentioning the ridiculously good "Legacy of Rust"... which is the only "new" game I have purchased and played since GTA IV came out! That Retro Realms double pack (Halloween and Evil Dead) is next on my list! I got "Fallout 4" for my PS4 on Christmas this year... quickly shaping up to be my favorite game of 2025!
Great video, as always. Here's my top 10 10. The Plucky Squire 9. Paper Mario Thousand Year Door Remaster 8. Legend of Zelda Echoes of Wisdom 7. Marvel VS Capcom Collection 6. Granblue Fantasy VS Rising 5. Stellar Blade 4. Palworld 3. Dragonball Sparking Zero 2. Sonic X Shadow Generations 1. Astro Bot
I know you're a trophy guy, I'm not so much, BUT I did try to Platinum Stellar Blade, and I will say starting the game again from scratch is actually a good thing if you weren't going for a particular trophy. It's because you can only pop that trophy on your FIRST playthrough, and not on the a new game Plus. Sucks for me, I'm at 98% for the trophies for this game, but the only way to platinum it is to completely start all over erasing all my 3 playthroughs of progress.
The only two games I see worth mentioning that weren't mentioned here are Helldivers 2 and Stalker 2. I jumped in to Helldivers 2 with no knowledge of what it was about. I just heard greats things. Every now and then I'll say what the hell. Me and a friend bought it, played it, and had a blast. It's like it's made by people who hate a lot of the BS that's in games these days. And I love co op games. I don't know if I'd call Stalker 2 GOTY material but if you like rooting around an open world and doing your own thing, discovering stuff, getting into trouble, it's awesome. The devs are cracking down on removing any post launch jank and it's clear this was a passion project. Great video. Great year of videos. Thank you for the entertainment and all of your hilarious wrestling references!
Bro it hurt me that Stellar Blade is lower on the list than Vailguard😢 lol but awesome list man, I also have Astro Bot as my game of the Year brotha! That game is fantastic 💯 #ThanksForWhatYouDo #WeAreTheDanDans #MuchLove #2024GameoftheYear
Only at the beginning of the episode still, I hope NCAA makes this list! I know you’re not a huge sports guy, but that game brought so many people back to video games it deserves at least an honorable mention!
2:50 I would love to see you talk the original Luigi's Mansion someday; steep competition releasing around Halo and the fifty seven other games on PS2 launching that week, but still a classic that manages to be both timeless and a perfect encapsulation of its time. Really interesting picks! You really do have a wide, varied taste when it comes to this stuff, introduced me to some titles I hadn't heard of, but will now give a whirl.
Sorta wish your reviewed in depth each of your number 1 games of the year. Seeing Days Gone in your 2019 list made me be like okay I have to play it. I been on the fence for a while about it, watched someone play a hour of it before and knew I wanted it. But seeing it as your number 1 in 2019 makes be like next time I see it in a game store I’m getting it
🚨Spoiler🚨 * * * Dude, I just KNEW that you were gonna pick Astro Bot, and that was just based on how much its Let’s Play Friday episode REALLY made me wanna play it! After recently playing through and getting the Platinum for Astro’s Playroom on my new PS5 (😎), I’m very much looking forward to playing its successor!
Once again another unexpected pick from you in Granblue Fantasy Relink. If you're wondering what Granblue is its a gacha game (albeit on browser from what I noticed rather than mobile for a change). It must be really popular since Arc System Works (the guys behind Guilty Gear and Dragon Ball FighterZ) did two fighting games for, the most recent of which is gonna be at EVO this year. BTW shoutout to good girl Narmaya. Anyway my top picks for 2024 would probably be either the MvC Collection (finally a way to purchase Marvel vs Capcom 2 that isn't an overpriced cabinet, ideal for those somehow averse to Fightcade) or the Castlevania DS Collection (Haunted Castle Remake is GOOD) but I dunno if they really count given what they are. Maybe WWE 2K24 for the Universe mode too or the surprisingly decent MyGM mode (being able to use custom wrestlers in both of those is pretty great so being able to make Scorpion or Ruby Rose the top stars of WCW of all promotions is possible)
While I haven’t played much new games this year, my top 2 games of this year in no particular order as I love both games are, Sonic X Shadow Generations and Marvel Vs Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics. For Sonic, I feel like this is the best game in the franchise in quite some time. They took the foundation from Frontiers and in my opinion, they nailed it beautifully with Shadow’s story and gameplay and it’s truly fun. As for MvC, we fans have waited over a decade for these games to be rereleased for modern hardware after many digital delistings and overpriced retro copies, and by god, they did it! They gave us everything and then some, and it truly was special. Because of that, these 2 are tied for my 2024 game of the year.❤️ Very great list on your end too, Ian. Hope to try Silent Hill 2 remake and RetroRealms: Halloween one day. Can’t wait for what 2025 brings to the table. Hope you and all the DanDans have a good one, stay safe, and I love you all.❤️😊
I just went through SH2 and got the leave ending . I’m playing it again in standard with the chainsaw (awesome) and going for the Maria ending But easily one of the more darker games I’ve played
My top 10 would be: 10. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants Unleashed 9. Alone in the Dark 8. Visions of Mana 7. Tekken 8 6. Stellar Blade 5. Black Myth: Wukong 4. Indiana Jones and the Great Circle 3. Astro Bot 2. Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics 1. Silent Hill 2 Remake
For me this year it was a bit of a chaotic year so I didn't have the time to play as many new games as I would have liked, but ultimately for me the game that I've escaped into most that came out this year is Shadow Generations. I'm a life long Sonic fan and Shadow is my favorite character, so an entire game based around revisiting levels from the character's history as well as an entire campaign dedicated to him as a character getting more development than he's had in the last several years was fantastic. Other new games I played and enjoyed throughout the year were the Paper Mario Thousand Year Door remake, but I haven't had enough time with it to determine if I love it more than the original, and because it's quite literally part of one of my jobs, and I've put a majority of my year into WWE 2K24 which is fun enough but it's more of the same every year.
Been playing the hell out of 2k24 and I really enjoy it! It is the first wwe game I’ve played since 2k19, so I do hope they bring back chain grappling in the next one. But it’s a great foundation to build on
@@Sultanofsleez Oh yeah I do absolutely love 2K24, feels like we've come a long way and gotten most of the stench that 2K20 caused out of the series, my one real complaint is that I could do without MyFaction, but I play on PC and just use a mod to unlock all the persona cards so I can't complain too much lol
Everyone's list is their own but damn not even a spot for FF7 rebirth? Maybe he hasn't played it. I haven't played astro bot yet but this definitely bumps it up on my list.
Didn’t play it, not interested. I played like 10 hours of VII Remake, it was fine, but I fell off and don’t really care to go back. I respect them, just not something I’m really into.
Always wanted to try hades but could never catch it on sale finally snagged it for 10 bucks in october and fell in love never played anything like it so its got to be my GOTY
@616Entertainment damn you need to one day. You could start at like a dragon yakuza, gaiden n then infinite wealth. N next month we got yakuza pirates coming out
My number two favorite game of 2024 is an game of 6 years ago Ultimate Mortal Kombat 11❤ number three. Is Mortal Kombat XL number four is resident evil village add running up my five favorite games of 2024 is a game of 15 years already Star Trek Online❤
@616Entertainment oh ok. I didn't know that. It's a great list either way. I'm absolutely loving playing Astro bot. Got it a little late but I'm loving it.
@616Entertainment it was slim pickings last year IMO but you're right, my Top Ten would be ASTRO Bot Dragonball Sparking Zero Dragon's Dogma 2 Black Myth Wukong Warhammer Space Marine 2 Stellar Blade Helldivers 2 WWE2K24 EA Sports College Football 25 Marvel Rivals
You can always rely on you to pick some first party Playstation games in your list; you're such a company man. Kidding, mostly. 🤣 No, great list Ian! I agree with most of this, but would personally put Silent Hill 2 at the top. But the original is one of my Mount Rushmore games and Bloober did it justice.
It is a safe bet to assume that I will be including my favorite games of the year on a list of my favorite games of the year, lol. When PlayStation first party studios deliver a dud, you won’t see it. But I’m not holding my breath on that, lol
Some excellent choices. 2024 was such a good year for game releases because very few top 10 lists look alike. Mine would be:

Mathematically speaking... The Legend Of Piss Boy 2 is the game of the year and it's not even close
My favorite game of 2024 happens to be from 2016...

Like I said, I got thrown off Stellar Blade, but I'll be back! Dragon Age has been awesome, though.
@616Entertainment I hear ya brotha, I've always felt like it's important to play what you like dude. Doesn't matter if the rest of the world hates it😅
Only at the beginning of the episode still, I hope NCAA makes this list! I know you’re not a huge sports guy, but that game brought so many people back to video games it deserves at least an honorable mention!

I made, as usual, my own list of new games I first played in 2024.
1. Astro Bot
2. Dead Space Remake
3. Silent Hill 2 Remake
4. Alan Wake
5. Biomutant
2024 was good for gaming and 616 it will be even better for 2025
I just went through SH2 and got the leave ending . I’m playing it again in standard with the chainsaw (awesome) and going for the Maria ending
But easily one of the more darker games I’ve played
Almost almost almost got Dave the Diver on the last winter sale but money was tight and there's so much I haven't played yet.
Astro bot has nice music
Okay so maybe I'm biased because I've never played Astro Bot, but I think I have Silent Hill 2 remake at number 1. Good list Ian!
Silent hill 2 was a blast to revisit
One of my biggest disappointments (for myself) is that I was never able to finish Luigi's Mansion 2 on my 3DS before it broke.😞
My top 10 would be:
10. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants Unleashed
9. Alone in the Dark
8. Visions of Mana
7. Tekken 8
6. Stellar Blade
5. Black Myth: Wukong
4. Indiana Jones and the Great Circle
3. Astro Bot
2. Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics
1. Silent Hill 2 Remake
Some Top 3 just in diff order lol

Undisputed 🥊
Always wanted to try hades but could never catch it on sale finally snagged it for 10 bucks in october and fell in love never played anything like it so its got to be my GOTY
Not having the beloved like a dragon infinite wealth not here is a crime. Such a beautiful emotional game
I've never played one of those games, my dude.

Not on the platform where I played it!
@616Entertainment oh ok. I didn't know that. It's a great list either way. I'm absolutely loving playing Astro bot. Got it a little late but I'm loving it.
My game of the year 2024 is WWE 2K24 (PS4)❤
Some picks on here I definitely don't agree with. However Astrobot was amazing and my GOTY as well.
Disagreement is totally fine, where you messed up is not sharing your list!
@616Entertainment it was slim pickings last year IMO but you're right, my Top Ten would be
ASTRO Bot
Dragonball Sparking Zero
Dragon's Dogma 2
Black Myth Wukong
Warhammer Space Marine 2
Stellar Blade
Helldivers 2
WWE2K24
EA Sports College Football 25
Marvel Rivals
Stellar blade is the shit!
Goty - Solitaire
I AM ASTRO BOT 💙🤖
Indiana jones the great circle is mine
My game of the year, 2024... Shattered Pixel Dungeon... I dare you not to enjoy it!

Oh man! I had such a similar journey with veilguard! But sadly I found it incredibly boring... 😢
I dont see Rebirth anywhere.
Why would I rank a game I haven’t played?!
@616Entertainment 😩
3BS 😂😭
🎉
Dragon Age was trash but again not my list
Game rules. What about it was trash to you?
Man, to be able to go back in time and play RDR2 for the first time again... what an amazing game. Or The Last of Us part 2... so good. 🤌🏼
