If u got time go to Taman Tugu ,(KL hidden gem) they have spectacular rainforest jungle trails in the city , just next to the Tugu Negara (National Monument) , it’s not very far from KLCC,I believe with your camera skills you will capture the place amazingly

I would have to agree with you on the accommodation affordability in KL. As a local, its a lot cheaper for us to just book a few nights staycation at 5 star hotel in KL than to go to other tourist spot all over Malaysia. Had you go to Genting Highland, Langkawi or Penang, the price for the exact same kind of accommodation could have tripled.
Malaysia income high but cost living cheaper from Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam,Indonesia, Filipina... petrol Ron 95 price in Malaysia only 40 cent US...
The only reason why Thailand and Bali (Indonesia) are more "expensive" is because Russian tourists raise the prices. Also, of course, oil will be cheaper in Malaysia because the country has oil.
