"BTS!"
You scream as they rise onstage, surrounded by lights and confetti, like angels rising to heaven. It's surreal how ethereal they look; even from a distance, you can see Jungkook's smile wrinkles as he laughed.
"One, two, three! Annyeonghaseyo, we are BTS!"
The crowd rippled as they started chanting the member's names, the stadium shaking from the vibrations.
But this isn't a normal BTS concert. Mixed among the ARMY, there's also men with badges, politicians with suits, idols in black attire, and the President, accompanied with his beloved wife. Among the festivities, a grave pressure hung over the air. But you still hollered as you waved your ARMY bomb from 5 years ago, chipped with use and worn with age.
The twin screens onstage blinked to life as they showed each of the idol's faces, smiling with cheer as they waved to the audience. However, among their youthful demeanor, you could spot subtle differences: slight fatigue, heaviness that burdened their frail minds, and a sense of age that they had never carried with them.
Upon seeing the member's faces, the crowd hushed to a complete silence, understanding traveling through the crowd.
The President, Jae-in, stepped up to the stage. He stopped in front of BTS, shaking his hands with Namjoon, who looked overjoyed at finally receiving a handshake.
"BTS."
"Welcome to our stage tonight. We would like to thank you for everything you've done for Korea; and not only Korea, but all the people in the world whom you have influenced with your life-changing music. We hope you live forever young, with great wealth and happiness, and we thank you for serving our country well."
"We send you off with our gratitude in this farewell ceremony."
The crowd roared as the President bowed.
Jin, Namjoon, and Suga stepped forwards, giving thanks to Jae-in. You could spot their eyes welling up with tears, threatening to spill. Jungkook rested his head on Taehyung, clasping his arm as his body shook, grief evident in his gaze.
Many idols came up to the stage to bid the eldest ones goodbye; people such as Taeyang and Eunhyuk gave advice on being in the army, and others from EXO and Wanna One bowed deeply as they hugged the younger members with sympathy. You felt your heart crinkle at the kind and supportive comments other idols gave to Suga, who seemed slightly terrified of enlisting in the army.
You felt the photocard tucked safely in your pocket, all seven of BTS smiling through the laminated paper. You couldn't believe their last song, "Idol", came out two years ago; it felt just like yesterday you were crouched in front of your computer, desperately waiting for the song to release.
Now, they're standing onstage for the very last time together.
BTS bowed as everyone went offstage. "Thank you so much, everybody!" Jin shouted. "We'll never forget this!"
Suddenly, he's thrown backwards as Jungkook lunged into his chest, crying profoundly. The action was like a breaking point as Taehyung followed suit, soon joined by Jimin and J-Hope as they sobbed into his suit.
"I'm going to miss you so much, hyung!" Jungkook wailed. "We're not BTS without you guys!"
You watched with wide eyes as Jin slowly comforted the younger members. There is no music, no heart-wrenching deaths; but you felt emotion fill up your heart while BTS did a group hug together onstage. It reminded you so much of the first time they performed, cries of joy ringing throughout the small stage.
A cold, wet drop rolled down your cheek as your started weeping silently, burying your head in your jacket. When will you ever see them again together, as a whole, as the icons they're known today? When you fall in love, when you get married, have kids, will they still be the legends of your teenage years?
Jungkook wiped his eyes, red tinting the edges. "Ah, I feel so vulnerable right now." He hugged Namjoon tightly, eyes squeezed shut. Namjoon ran his fingers through Jungkook's hair, a soft smile lighting up the stage. "Come on Kookie. One, two, three, breathe."
"Smile for us. Send us off with your bright, idiotic smile."
Jungkook broke out in a grin, tears staining his cheeks as he looked up at Namjoon.
"Thank you."

I’m 11 months late to the party, but here goes everything.
I feel like overtime you’ll learn to enjoy the ride. It hurts like hell, it does, whatever we’re going through, but we’re all in this mess together, as cheesy and cliche as it seems. And you know what? Sometimes it’s good, just to throw yourself headlong into the chaos of life and live it all out before it’s over. I don’t know if I’m making any sense right now, but you know what, i don’t think words can properly express things like this. I really don’t. All there is is to listen to this beautiful music and just realize how alive you are. We’ll be fine.
