It’s definitely obvious that it wasn’t a true one take, but i’m not really sure they were trying to fool anyone into believing that, just wanted to create a great action sequence (which they did)
@@WTDProductionsThey actually practised this scene (over 7 mins long uncut) so much that they can perform it live on stage, the only part of the entire scene not performed by Colin Firth himself is when Harry is thrown into the organ, everything else is Firth himself. They only used cutaways to break up the overload of violence, the original intention was to have the whole scene shown in "one continuous shot" but decided over 7 mins of non-stop violence was too much, even for this movie.
Well, one take can be interpreted in different ways. They just paused camera on certain picture. And of course it was undercranking through whole sequence
One detail I love in Harry’s slaughter is when the grenade blows up, you can see that his ears ringing. For a brief moment you can see that since his ears are blocking out the signal, Harry has a brief moment of horror on his face at what he is doing. Then the ringing goes away, the signal reaches him and the rampage continues.
That's a bit of an unintentionall detail there. Why ? Because that Explosion is real - they really blew up a mini-bomb, that they usually use for Practical Car Explosions. They didn't want to use the CGI Explosion, to make it as realistic, as possible. And it actually came out a bit bigger, than expected. That "brief moment of horror" was there because - during shooting the scene - Colin Firth was near the explosion, and his Ears really did hurt him after that, for like an Hour, or so...
@@Arkayjiya Well, I just know that they thought the Explosion will be smaller, but got wrong the Number of Practical Explosives, and so it came out like this.
While it is disappointing Rick didn't like it, I really appreciate him saying things like "it's not for me", and "this didn't work for me". So many people jump to saying something is bad or lazy, and get really toxic if they don't personally enjoy it.
Elite Salad no, but Aaron was constantly shitting on the abridged version, saying that it was too silly and didn’t do the characters justice and that Kirito was so well-developed in the original... A whole load of horseshit basically, and he complained so much that they dropped the reaction after episode 6. It may sound childish, but I’ve always held that against Aaron since, and my mood involuntarily sours whenever he speaks. Which is a shame, because the others can actually give great insight and commentary
Garik Avagyan shiny knights fighting evil? In a series called Vikings? Wtf was he on!? Shame it took him 4 seasons to leave, I don’t think I’ll be able to stomach that many reactions if he was toxic throughout
Garik Avagyan which is only fair. Not everything they watch will be liked by all of them, that only stands to reason. Still, seeing the experience dragged down because one member really hates what they’re watching feels like a disservice to the rest of the crew (as with SAOA, as I felt like the rest liked it well enough; I hope they continued watching it in their spare time). Now, I don’t watch too many reactions from BW, so I’m curious: is Aaron the only one who does this? Do the rest just express their dislike in a more reduced manner?
This is literally one of my favourite movies ever. That church fight scene had 150 stunt people, all done in one shot (despite the final thing having cuts), Colin Firth did it all himself and is widely known as one of the most ambitious action sequences ever put to film. Its up there with Fury Road :D
@@Riddler0603 I mean it cutting away to other stuff, like Eggsy and Merlin and stuff. They did it all as a one take a bunch of times and stitched it together :D
@@SomeGuyCalledJack No, they're not. That's not possible in that way. The whole fight scene has at least 23 hidden cuts. They had the whole choreography worked out before and knew how the scene should look in the end. They filmed it in parts with lots of pauses in between. You can see it in the BTS material how the director is calling action and 5 seconds later he shouts freeze and everybody stops. Then they reposition and start again. You can't do the whole choreography in one take with everything special that happens during the fight, like people flying out of windows, get smashed against the walls etc. You have to film these things separated from the rest.

Planets are merely scattered ceilings to the floor that we call the earth. And considering how gravitional wells are currently defined, that means that even if we are infinitely far away from earth, we would still be inside its gravitational well. Thus we would still have a floor to land on if we were to wait long enough. Because even 1 trillion lightyears away, the mass of you will still be attracted to the mass of earth, and thus if there were nothing at all to get you off course, eventually, you would start speeding up directly towards the earth. So depending on your frame of reference, it can all be height.

I can't express how much joy I feel watching prim and proper Colin Firth just annihilate a room full of people. The first time I saw the pub scene my jaw was on the floor. Also Taron Egerton is a damn delight.
I love Gazel the actress that played her she's a dancer first saw her in one of Michael Jackson music videos, she's the villain in the Tom cruise Mummy she was in the third star trek movie and she was in Atomic Blonde
Its such a multi-level scene with Mark Hamill. In the comic book the villain, dr. Arnold kidnaps real Mark Hamill, and in the movie the villain, Valentine, kidnaps dr. Arnold, played by Hamill
@@prathapkutty7407 General concept is still the same, some elements are different. In comics Gazelle is man, dr. Arnold is main villain, who collects just movie stars. Egsie is hired by his uncle. Harry and Egsie are partners, during training everyone dies for real. I liked the challenge, when they just dumped them naked in the middle of nowhere. And, of course, wedding instead of church.
The Mark Hamill beginning is awesome. Thugs ask him about prequels and he defends those movies saying that though they were fans of old trilogy they just couldn't recreate it.
This movie is so good!!....it’s unfortunate that Rick wasn’t a fan but oh well , it’s not for everyone. The cast & action are great but my favorite aspect of the movie is the mentor-mentee relationship between Harry & Eggsy...it’s well written and both Colin Firth and Taron Egerton have good chemistry with each other. Too bad that the sequel was a big step down imo.
The sequel was boring as hell. The movie worked so well because it had this British charm and that was lost in the second one. The prequel looks promising though.
I really love the tiny details in the film. In the church fight scene for example, after using the grenade, Harry lost hearing for a few seconds and we could see that his sense was back, he realized what's happening and wanted to get out. But then the sound returned and he lost control again.
7:34, an interesting fact about the water scene is that the water was only supposed to go to a certain height (I can't remember what) but the machine lowering them into the water malfunctioned (if I understand correctly the bedroom the actors were in, was lowered down into a "box" full of water) and instead lowered them too far (not sure if it completely submerged then cos I can't remember the whole story) so the fear you see on the actors faces is genuine but they decided to keep the shot in because it looked good. (If you want to know more you can easily look up the full story).
I love how Eggsy gets a James Bond moment where he saves the girl and gets a sexual reward but then in the next movie they're shown to be in a comitted relationship in stark opposite to James Bond.
16:08 I’m sad it wasn’t in, but if you look closely in that scene were Harry gets caught in the grenade blast, due to the shock from the bast deafening him, you can see for a second that he begins to come back and a slight look of horror as he realizes what he’s doing...right before he recovers, hears the signal again, and goes right back to clearing house.
The best description I've heard of the church scene: "Here's five minutes of people we assume you'd like to see brutally beaten to death, being brutally beaten to death. Please enjoy!"
Sofia Boutella is seriously underrated, IMHO. FWIW, she's a dancer, so the vast majority of the things she did as Giselle, including the final fight, were actually her.
I love Kingsmen. The part when people's heads explode into fireworks is one of my favorite scenes. So shocking and ridiculous. I can't wait for you guys react to the sequel.
I love the scene with Eggsy ordering the drink. There's a couple layers to unpack here: 1) A gin martini is a cocktail (If you can call it that) comprising 5 parts gin (London Dry) to 1 part vermouth (Dry martini typically, hence the name). As you can tell from the ingredients, this is a very very dry drink, and the dry martini makes it very very dry. 2) There are hundreds of different "correct ways" to make a Gin martini. They are absurd in the ways to basically not have the vermouth in. I personally would add the vermouth, swill it in the glass, then pour it away before adding the gin. Other ways include holding the glass at an angle and pouring the vermouth in so that it immediately pours away or, my personal favourite, having the barman take the shot of vermouth then breathe into the glass. 3) The most famous of these is Winston Churchill's preference, which was to have a gin martini with just the gin in the glass, and an unopened bottle of vermouth in the room. That is the specific reference here with Eggsy's personal method. 4) The last part of the reference is that James Bond famously drinks a Vodka Martini, shaken not stirred. Most cocktail aficionados would argue that you can't have a martini with vodka. Also shaking it requires ice, and that waters down the drink. Thereby stirring, not shaking, is by far the "bigger" way to have the drink. Of course the actual drink Bond drinks is called a "Vespa" and is a bit more complex than just a Dry Vodka Martini.
This is technically a Marvel movie like Kick-Ass and Men in Black. Kingsman and Kick-Ass are Icon Comics and Men in Black is Malibu Comics, and both are owned by Marvel.
I friggin' love this movie. I remember, my mom and I turned up to the theatre. The clerk goes, "Two for 50 Shades?" (It was opening weekend for that too.) I'm like, "No. Two for Kingsman." She laughed like I was joking. There was a herd of women in line for 50. My mom and I don't roll like that. She raised us on movies like Commando and Predator. I said, "Seriously. Two for Kingsman." So we got our tickets, and went in. Movie let out at the same time as 50. The hordes of women came out of their theatre in near silence, looking extremely meh. Our theatre left still laughing and smiling and quoting our favourite lines.
Lol I think one of the most underrated jokes in the movie is right at start, when both Lancelot and Gazelle take great care not to spill the glass of 1962 Dalmore. A bottle of that whiskey cost up to $250,000.
You guys should react to the sequel Kingsman: The Golden Circle. I don't like it as much as the first one but it is still a good movie and has amazing action with some character development.

@Quilo Sky SPOILERS FOR THE GOLDEN CIRCLE The tone of the film is just too over-the-top (this film starts off at a fairly grounded level, then builds up the craziness over the course of the story, while the sequel starts at a 10 and never really changes from there); the fact they killed off all the Kingsmen at the very start, including Roxy; the villains weren't as interesting or fun; the American characters were underused (except Pedro Pascal, he was cool); Harry was brought back in a way that essentially removed all consequences from these films; Eggsy lacks a character arc, and in general spends most of the film making stupid mistakes; the romance with the Princess. There are some parts I like, such as some of the action scenes, most of the performances, and Elton John's appearance. On the whole though, I feel the sequel was really disappointing, though hopefully the prequel will be a bit of a course correction
@@jollybodger that movie is terrible, it did what the first was successful at avoiding and that was going to over the top and cheesy. Luckily the Kings Man looks closer to the first than the second

Idk if you guys knew already or not, but the same director of this movie directed Kick-Ass as well. They're even both made from the same company, "MARV".
They're doing a prequel but also they're supposed to be making a full Statesman spin-off too. Was immediately obvious to me when I first saw this movie that Matthew Vaughn is a fan of The 51st State.
"They intentionally made some of the green screen look bad" A lot of that isn't green screen! The movies have extremely talented camera crew, editors, and cinematographers who can pull off some ridiculous shots. Check out Stuntmen React on Corridor Crew, they talked to one of them.
finally you guys reacted to this it's so good! there's a REALLY good new Netflix original movie out now called The Old Guard that I think you guys would really like. Netflix didn't advertise it really heavily because they're putting out so much from their catalogue right now, but it's definitely one of the best Netflix originals they've made
The two positions that are filled at the end of the film are paralleled by the characters. Lancelot was known as the bravest of knights and Roxy overcomes her fear of heights to complete her part on the mission. Galahad was the most gallant knight and was.admired as being the perfect knight and Eggsy throughout the movie proved to be a protector and always acting for noble reasons. He left a promising army career because he mum worried, he was always the one coming up with plans that helped everyone and stood up to mistreatment of others.

Somethong kinda cool that I just found out about, the umbrella gun does exist to a degree. Back in the Cold War, there was a guy who mysteriously died and they found poison in his blood. There was an investigation and basically, he had been carrying secret information and another guy from the Soviets had been sent to take care of him. A few days before he died, the guy was walking down the street when he felt a strange pain in the back of his leg. He turned around and saw a guy (pretending to) drop his umbrella and was picking it up again. Turns out the umbrella had been made into a sort of gun that was designed to fire a small ball filled with poison out of the front. The umbrella's now on display at the International Spy Museum in DC

Its such a multi-level scene with Mark Hamill. In the comic book the villain, dr. Arnold kidnaps real Mark Hamill, and in the movie the villain, Valentine, kidnaps dr. Arnold, played by Hamill
Also btw, church scene is amazing but can you imagine the carnage on multi-wedding (50 couples or so) like in comic books?
How different is the comic from the movie?
@@prathapkutty7407 General concept is still the same, some elements are different. In comics Gazelle is man, dr. Arnold is main villain, who collects just movie stars. Egsie is hired by his uncle. Harry and Egsie are partners, during training everyone dies for real. I liked the challenge, when they just dumped them naked in the middle of nowhere. And, of course, wedding instead of church.
The Mark Hamill beginning is awesome. Thugs ask him about prequels and he defends those movies saying that though they were fans of old trilogy they just couldn't recreate it.
@@crowtsoff whose wedding was it instead of the church scene? I'd love to get the comics
Samantha Gonzalez well he liked The Room. Okay ....
@@SamanthaGonzalez-vm3lk He loves Brooklyn99 and Haikyuu to say two, so no
The sequel was boring as hell. The movie worked so well because it had this British charm and that was lost in the second one. The prequel looks promising though.
I disagree with you. The 2nd was great but it didn’t match the 1st.
Shut up the 2nd one was great.
The actress who plays Gazelle, Sofia Boutella, is amazing in this movie. Her fight scenes especially the one at the end was awesome.
(If you want to know more you can easily look up the full story).
this is true
Oh my God yes. This is one of my favorite films of all time!!!!
Same dude this movie really stands out for me
Mine too
You gotta do The man from UNCLE next. Guy Ritchie's version of a spy film starring Henry Cavill, Armie Hammer and Alicia Vikander.
Yes freaking love that movie
And Kingsmans too 🤗
Hell yeah! Definitely underrated
Agreed:)
@Joe S Snatch and Lock, stock and 2 smoking barrels were two my favourite films growing up. I saw them over n over.
@Joe S i LOVE Lock, stock. But i didn't like Rock n rolla.
She's awesome
15:31
Arron: "Why do all these people have GUNS?"
Eric: "They're in KENTUCKY!"
Calvin: "KENTUCKY!"
"Country Road, take me home..."
Don't 😢
That is a case of possibly permanent "too soon." Lol
Still hurts man
@EDUARDO HERNANDEZ-MEDINA watch golden circle then you’ll know.
@EDUARDO HERNANDEZ-MEDINA Watch the sequel and this will hit you hard
I love Kingsmen. The part when people's heads explode into fireworks is one of my favorite scenes. So shocking and ridiculous. I can't wait for you guys react to the sequel.
The ridiculessness throughout... In the hanger you can see the Beatles' Yellow Submarine.
I love the scene with Eggsy ordering the drink. There's a couple layers to unpack here:
1) A gin martini is a cocktail (If you can call it that) comprising 5 parts gin (London Dry) to 1 part vermouth (Dry martini typically, hence the name).
Watch Kick-Ass, created and directed by the same people absolutely incredible film !
@@CymruJedi yer hadn't finished the video :(
The first one only, second one is ehh.
It's funny that they've apparently watched it but don't know it's directed by Matthew Vaughn too. Yet they wrongly state that Wanted was.
In the movie theater at 16:40, I yelled "AMEN" and got the biggest laugh of the movie.
The guy from Pirates of the Caribbean is also married to Michelle Gomez aka Missy from Doctor Who!

This is technically a Marvel movie like Kick-Ass and Men in Black. Kingsman and Kick-Ass are Icon Comics and Men in Black is Malibu Comics, and both are owned by Marvel.
Like History of Violence and Road to Perdition are DC movies.
dupersuper1938 Yes, and also The Losers, Red, Red 2, The Kitchen, and V for Vendetta are DC.
This movie is basically James Bond on steroids and I love it
I friggin' love this movie.
Easily one of my favorite movies ever. It has so much style!
I don’t get how this film isn’t just like one of the best movies made for a lot of people , it’s a great movie all around , it has everything even good cinematography
The best Non-James Bond Movie
*The best Spy Non-James Bond movie.
There are other Movies that still are better, than "Kingsman".
I think you worded that wrong. By this you're saying only James Bond movies are better than this out of every movie ever (before this comment).
Sofia Boutella who plays Giselle is also Ahmanet in The Mummy and Jaylah in Star Trek Beyond.
Yup. She's awesome
If you realize what’s happening when harry gets his hearing distorted for a moment you can see his face realize what he’s doing because he’s not being affected by the stimulant 16:11

YESSSSSS!!!! I LOVE the Kingsman Movies! 😆 So happy you guys are reacting to it! 🔥 Manners Maketh Man🌂
I enjoyed Eric’s counterpoints to Rick’s points. Oh well. Everything isn’t for everybody.
@Quilo Sky Yeah I don't get the hate for Golden Circle, it's not as good as this but it is still a fantastic movie.
@Quilo Sky SPOILERS FOR THE GOLDEN CIRCLE
The tone of the film is just too over-the-top (this film starts off at a fairly grounded level, then builds up the craziness over the course of the story, while the sequel starts at a 10 and never really changes from there); the fact they killed off all the Kingsmen at the very start, including Roxy; the villains weren't as interesting or fun; the American characters were underused (except Pedro Pascal, he was cool); Harry was brought back in a way that essentially removed all consequences from these films; Eggsy lacks a character arc, and in general spends most of the film making stupid mistakes; the romance with the Princess.
It is actually based off of the graphic novel "The Secret Service" by Mark Millar.
WOAH! I didn't know this was happening?!? Kingsman is one of my favourites, its the kind of movie I always convince my friends they need to watch so I've seen it many many times.
This movie just holds such a special place in my heart!
"They intentionally made some of the green screen look bad"
A lot of that isn't green screen!
Netflix didn't advertise it really heavily because they're putting out so much from their catalogue right now, but it's definitely one of the best Netflix originals they've made
Love this movie, Im a huge fan of the camera work and action scenes in these movies they are so unique.
Samuels villain character is how I imagine I would be as a villain... Afraid of blood xD
Excellent movie. I love the way it comes back around at the end with the bar scene.
Kingsman: The Golden Circle is not as good. but you could still react to it

Ironically, Oscar Pistorius was once considered for the role of Gazelle but the producers didn't think he could play a convincing killer.
Isn't that the same thing James Cameron said when he considered casting OJ Simpson as the Terminator?

You guys should watch the man from uncle!!
