To get dents out of wood you take a wet cloth place on the area of the dent then place an iron on wet cloth set to steam the seam will fill the wood make it swell rise if it rises to much just sand to flush on the wood done just a fyi you don't need fillers .

Why not use finish remover first instead of directly going with sandpaper?
