柿渋染 Kakishibu-Zome（Persimmon juice-dyeing）

柿渋染
柿渋染は、古来より耐久性に富み、防虫殺菌にも優れたものであり、番傘、魚網の補強、酒袋などにも使用されてきました。
製造行程の中で重要なのは天日乾燥による発色です。晴天日約3週間太陽光線にあて2～3回染色・乾燥を繰り返し、重ね染めをして発色させています。
染色は１反づつ手染めしているため濃度差ができますのでご了承下さい。
この染めは１年から２年は変化します。日が経つにつれ深く味わいのある古来の茶に変化していきます。多少の色むらもありますが、均一化された現代のものでなく、むら染めも味としてお楽しみ下さい。

Persimmon juice-dyeing
Persimmon juice-dyed cloths have been superior in durability and microbicidal/insecticidal effects since antient times, and are used for coarse oilpaper umbrellas, reinforcement of fishing nets, and sake bags.
One of the important processes is color development with sun-drying. Cloths are exposed to sunlight on fine days for about 3 weeks, and dyeing and drying are repeated several times for color development.
There is a difference in contrast between rolls of cloth because dyeing is performed by hand for each roll of cloth.
The dyed color changes over 1 or 2 years to a rich and traditional color blown with time. Enjoy the color unevenness as a nuanced taste, which differs from uniform modern products.
We use the possibilities of persimmon juice-dyeing to meet the modern sensibility.
