Man it's been so long since I played this one. I wanted an x game on PS2 that was enjoyable and when I played this one I was glad Capcom made one that was.
If PND didn't have that death in the beginning it would've been closer, but the Zero route still looks faster. It's hard to make up for the backtrack to Noah's park since X can't speed up boss kills like how a SDC from X4-X6 would.
+Shadowman245 To be honest, Inafune didn't really need to do anything with X8. If it weren't for X6 and X7, this game would have sold a lot better and we might have had more games aside from Command Mission.
Push the dash button. You can only push it every so often, but each character's boost "recharges" separately. That's why we switch between them while boosting.
If you go further back in "The X Route" you do get even more armor. With the Armor/body part, X doesn't even flinch when he takes damage! But as good as those items are, they take time.
Yes. it still thinks it needs to be on your left. It's weird and sometimes can result in a softlock/game freeze, so you need to be a little careful entering the room.
You have to do the spin move, then while holding up, push down. You can do this by using both the D Pad and the Left Stick. I'm using the D-Pad to hold up and flicking the control stick down.
They could've got the Sigma Blade for Zero pretty quickly if their playing on the PS2 version and Hard difficulty, strongest weapon in the game. Other versions of the game fix the bug that lets you skip the money grind for it.
Are you sure? Huh, well, in any case the PS2 version has a very easy to exploit bug that can be performed on any difficulty to give you maximum currency. Hard Mode was suggested because it unlocks the ability to find all the unlockables and therefor purchase all the upgrades.
Well, it isn't infinite. It counts upwards slowly to the upper limit or instantly hits the upper limit if you go to the Weapon Select menu, once it has reached the upper limit it will decrease as it is spent... it's just that you have more Metal than you'll ever need so I guess yeah, you could say it is effectively infinite.
Get the spin move from Mantis, then while doing it with Zero in the air, hold Up (or an up diagonal), and press down at the same time. Since the PS2 game takes directional input from both the left stick and the d-pad, you can hold up on on and press down on the other (I hold up on the pad and flick the stick down)
but i believe he isn't, for me, Axl is a must for perfect runs, especially when you get the Ray Gun, but i don't know about quick runs, i never do these ^-^"
lol it's not like i hate the ship but i just don't do shipping, because the only time i did it turned out to be the worst ship ever (i paired Lumine with Leo Kliesen from Tekken and yes she's a girl XD)
PND did wrong at trying to clear sunflower stage first. Better would be clear sunflower at last in a run. I would not get the red buster upgrade in a run, just the blue head upgrade.
13:00 In a widescreen-hack video, it was revealed these are used to hide mid-level loading.

funny part is PND got a 108 time and he died in the very first stage so he was actually really fucking close
Yea I can save about a minute in sunflower without a death and a good sunflower fight

Yea the zero route is about a minute faster in comparison but we wanted to show off both routes
When's Axl route?
It is a shame this game didn't do as well and may have ended the X series.
No thanks to X7 though...
+Shadowman245

Damn you x7
don't forget x6
I just finished x7 and as annoying as it can be its not that bad…worst of the X Series sure but its not that bad might be one of the easier one too
Screens are too small for this kind of game
What that guy said about retry chips is not true! Easy mode gives you Infinite retry chips, normal gives you five and hard just three!
how to boost snowmobile in avalanche yeti stage ?
Push the dash button.
You can only push it every so often, but each character's boost "recharges" separately. That's why we switch between them while boosting.
wait doesn't foot parts H also make you invincible when dashing?
If you go further back in "The X Route" you do get even more armor. With the Armor/body part, X doesn't even flinch when he takes damage! But as good as those items are, they take time.
50:57 What is that thing in the room on PND's screen? Did the big thing that chases you get teleported into the room?
Yes. it still thinks it needs to be on your left.
It's weird and sometimes can result in a softlock/game freeze, so you need to be a little careful entering the room.
Why 3 screens?
The screen splits is terrible I can't see the gameplay
Stick the computer feed into a television. I'm watching on a 70' inch tv.
Awesome
I just commented about this oops lol
For sure I love Zero and X over Axl, but I'm kinda sad to see no love for him at all
I'm skipping to the gameplay. Could anybody help me identify the musicplaying at the beginning of the video?
Really? it's Mega man 2 title theme :P
Why did they do it on normal instead of hard?
ive been curious, why is there 2 zero/x speed runs and only 1 x/zero run?
Just the way it worked out. We thought it would be cool to show off both routes, even with the time discrepancies.
Is it weird that I'm watching this speedrun for help?
Not at all.
If you still need assistance, seek the discord
How fly with Zero?????

why does the game lag so much? I played on my PC ( not a gaming one) and it went super smoothly. just curious
YUMYUMYUM YUMYUM Because this is the PS2 version.
PS2 vs PC (original pc version, not Legacy Collection)

We almost showed that one off during the run. But again, you can't get the blade in a standard new game.
How could they fly with zero????

Donde quedo MarickHunter :'v
Yep, but is hard to finish the stage by first without powerups. risky for a run to me. Anyway i'm no S.runner.
i like it, even though i would have used Axl more
but i believe he isn't, for me, Axl is a must for perfect runs, especially when you get the Ray Gun, but i don't know about quick runs, i never do these ^-^"
wow, a true RockFan XD
not really, he's my fave hunter and she's my fave navigator but that's it
lol it's not like i hate the ship but i just don't do shipping, because the only time i did it turned out to be the worst ship ever (i paired Lumine with Leo Kliesen from Tekken and yes she's a girl XD)
okay, shadow and Shrek is worse than i thought XD
まじ!!!イングラン!!!
PND did wrong at trying to clear sunflower stage first. Better would be clear sunflower at last in a run. I would not get the red buster upgrade in a run, just the blue head upgrade.
The reason we get the red buster is because it pushes the cycle in which the bust charges which the blue buster does not
Routing and experimentation happen all the time. Give it a shot, but this is the fastest known "X route" run.
