I remember this game for the action and the color of all the gold and jewels. i also like the 3D side-scrollers, like Double Dragon, Alien vs. Predator, Ninja Turtles.
I finally figured out what always bothered me with this game 30 years later: What is kind of amazing is that Merlin and the non-upgraded Arthur designs (especially the silver armor form), along with the sword Excalibur during the opening movies (the pommel scenes) are just straight rips from the English made movie Excalibur (1981) that I was expecting Carmina Burana to start playing sometime during the game. I suppose copyright laws were kind of lax pre-DMCA and I guess the infringements were such a small part of the game that it didn't qualify for full enforcement, but damn, Capcom. Also, why couldn't they also steal the Sir Patrick Stewart character.
My favourite childhood game. It's so difficult, especially the bosses. And I think they have something like an invincible recoverying frame where if they fall, they will bounce up and jump far away. You can't just constantly hit them like this.

Well, they *are* cheating after all. Thats what the [TAS] in the title means: a tool-assisted save-state run done on an emulator with only the best segments. Every single TAS video means "we cheated". But its much more convenient for them to type [TAS] and intentionally let 99% of gullible viewers think its skill.
1st stage you can actually save the three soldiers. 3nd stage theres 1UP guarantee if you lure the birdman and block and heavy kill method. :D , old childhood game. one of the bests
