3) Therefore what logically follows is that Old Garp is still stronger than Old Rayleigh
4) Therefore Old Garp is at the very least on par if not stronger than Kizaru who was on par if not a bit stronger than Old Rayleigh
5) Therefore you can inductively reason from all this that, since Akainu was more than probably on the same level as Kizaru, that Garp was also at his level even in his old age. So Garp could have killed Akainu through power scaling. Not guaranteed, but possible.

So as you all know, the 'God Valley Incident' that was spoken of in this chapter happened 38 years ago, where the Rocks Pirates met their demise at the hands of Vice Admiral Garp and Gol. D Roger.
Rocks D. 'Xebec' is not only a D. just like Blackbead (Marshall D. Teach) but was considered Roger's greatest rival. This parallels Luffy and Blackbeard as they are eachother's greatest rivals of this generation. Rocks D. Xebec's silhouette even vaguely looks like Blackbeard in terms of features.
Now, If you look at the name 'Xebec', Blackbeard's flagship is called the 'Saber of Xebec'. Oda doesn't do coincidences like that.
Blackbeard's current base of operations is at a place called 'Beehive Pirate Island'. This is the same island where the Rocks Pirates were formed 40 years ago through Davy Back fights (a competition between pirate crews, where the crew that wins a round gets to take a member of the losing crew and makes them a part of their own crew.)
Again, the Rocks pirates was defeated 38 years ago, but the crew itself was thriving and making waves all around the world specifically 40 years ago based on what Garp and Sengoku have been saying about the past era. According to the timeline and One Piece wiki, Blackbeard is 40 years old. It lines up. It would be entirely possible that Rocks D. Xebec and Marshall D. Teach are father and son. Blackbeard could just be pulling an Ace and taking his mother's name.

The war of marinford seemed impressive to us at the time because it was the highest power scaling we were beared witnessed to, but if Kaido or Big mom was there. Rocks’ battle vs Garp and Roger seems like a tale. There is something more to it that sengoku isn’t disclosing because he isn’t sure of the possibility it being true. It could be that the lurking legend is Xebec and he is controlling beehive island behind the scenes. If you think about it all of Blackbeard’s feats have been calculated really well, despite him not seeming capable of such intricate planning and knowledge. It could explain why black beard’s ship is named the Saber of Xebec. Shanks came to this realization and decided to speak with the gorosei.
