The Boys Town Gang were a San Francisco based disco and Hi-NRG band. Their popularity peaked in the 1980s, when the group reached number 5 on Billboard's Hot Dance Club Play chart with the single "Cruisin' the Streets", and number 4 in the UK Singles chart and number 1 in the Netherlands with their cover version of "Can't Take My Eyes Off You".
A friend made a gift of his copy of this when I visited London Oct 81. Though he is sadly long gone I still cherish the vinyl he gave me. This track reminds me of the life lesson he taught me, "Live for the day, the night will catch up with you all too soon."
Oh I'm sure the "night" (AKA hellfire) caught up with him real nicely.

Goodness, I danced to this several times someplace on Polk in the early '80s and bought the LP in a record store on Castro--and still have it! I remember a gathering of clones on the corner of Castro and Market playing it on a boombox, too. Outside the disco on Polk there was a bus stop that featured an ad for Calvin Klein briefs. It seemed torn right out of the pages of the old Advocate, the tabloid version. Oh, yes, them there were the old days.

Zeker goeie herinneringen in de Amsterdamse discotheken. Ik heb 2 vinyl 12" versies incl. eentje met de hoes zoals afgebeeld. Meest bizarre is dat ik tegenwoordig in San Francisco woon.
