    Aussie got the snow last winter as well

    I have a new fire being installed next Thursday and Friday and we also have the interior walls of the house being insulated so hope that it does not get too wet. My barometer recorded 1035 here in New Plymouth. Today a cold and nasty SW wind blowing and these winds make the home (built 1953) cold and I burn so much wood ( 2 fires) going. Be glad when the inbuilt fire gets done. Thanks.

    In the last 5 years or so, I have seen these snow bearing systems come into the Australian SE and dump good amounts of snow on the ski fields, while we miss out completely. This is what happens when we get the blocking highs to the east of the country!

    it's a classic case of it's to good to be true then it usually is. looks like the end of the month is going to be custard. but we still need more rain - who would have thought that a diary farmer would be asking for rain in July when the calving season is in full swing.

    • @WeatherWatchTV
      @WeatherWatchTV 19 днів тому

      Yeah it's certainly a weird set up - I feel like a broken record talking about people needing rain, and now some dairy farmers are wanting it so spring doesn't kick off too dry.

    Phil I'm just wondering if any high pressure has ever gotten to 1050 hp?

      Google says “ 1083.8 mb (32.01 in. Hg) in Agata, Siberia on December 31, 1968”

    • @WeatherWatchTV
      @WeatherWatchTV 19 днів тому +1

      Yes, if you look at places like Antarctica you often see highs in their 1050s to 1070s. And as the other comment says, 1083 in Siberia. :) NZ area they usually peak in the 1040s. I think 1048 or 1049 are the highest ones Ive seen near NZ. Phil.

    Mate, can you ditch the use of so many colours?? Yellow, white, purple...for those wind maps...just use a warm colour for high pressure, & a cold colour for low pressure

    Hang on a minute,... you quoted a niwa statistic... far out

    • @WeatherWatchTV
      @WeatherWatchTV 19 днів тому +1

      The one time Niwa actually gave a normal statistic without hyping the heck out of it in the media for their commercial gain. So it made for a good nugget of data to use, although it also clearly showed NZ up for having no true historical records as even Niwa couldn't 100% confirm a record was broken due to their commercialisation of pubic records.

    High pressure in Australia means rain and lots of it! Which is completely opposite to nature. As for thredbo snow, What can I say Australia manipulates its weather.

    why dont you talk about the cloud seeding or geo in otago or are you a patsy for niwa

    • @WeatherWatchTV
      @WeatherWatchTV 18 днів тому

      1) Everyone who believes in cloud seeding is aggressive to us unless we agree with them.
      2) It's not done in NZ.
      3) Everyone who believes in this stuff is like believing in religion. Nothing I say will convince you you to think differently.
      4) We dislike Niwa management.
