    The solo at 2:45 gives me goosebumps. Such passion, soul, practice and knowledge andy james has on the guitar.

    I've never heard from this guy something that wasn't inspiring, not a single song that has a weak melody... It's awesome the way he gives the best expression to every damn note he play... A true master, a player that gives you every time a new way to look, hear and play even the most common scale, arpeggios or sequence... Great!!!

    "I’m proud to say that I’m Officially signed to Kiesel Guitars. Very much looking forward to working with Jeff Kiesel and his amazing team moving forward in 2018 and beyond ." - Andy James - Facebook post 02/20/2018. Thank you for the upload.

      Seems to be this way with the whole album. The little improvised parts here and there really make it better

    Andy James is the first guitarist to stop me dead in my tracks and force me to listen since I was first spellbound by Joe satriani three decades ago. I appreciate what John Petrucci does, I`ve even met him many times, and he`s a great guy. But his playing bores me to tears. Andy does what I try to get my students to learn (the ones who want to play tech stuff anyway), and that is not to play a fast phrase for the purpose of saying "hey, look at that thing I just played", but rather "Hey, listen to what I just said with that phrase". Just like words are far more than the sum of their letters, phrases "should" be more than the sum of the notes in them. And to me, he does that.

      His technique is so brutal that most people overlook his amazing sense of melody,reminds me of when people overlooked ygwies amazing touch and vibrato because of his chops

      I couldn't agree more. Satriani I has a sound so beautiful it takes me away from this earth. AJ has taken that sound and put it on another ship and has taken my ears to places they have never been.

    I'm really confused by all these people that say that Andy doesn't have feeling in his music... To me almost all of his playing conveys a lot of emotion but maybe I'm just crazy?

    • @SnakeTheCowboy
      @SnakeTheCowboy 9 років тому

      Liftosophy I think people who saying that kind of stuff meaning that it looks like he paying most part of his attention to scheme/technique then putting his feelings in to his sound. It also looks same to me... but what the hell? Its seem to be toooooo ridiculous to study an artistic stuff such as musician skill only just for study.... so don't get it wrong. Its all just about perfection & will to save original idea of sound & to bring more transparency & liquidity to make it much easier for you to catch his feelings.

      for most people this is to hard to listen to, for the untrained ear, then they will say it has no feel becouse of that. but in my opinion andy james plays actually with alot of feel, some songs really gives me chills everywhere. i love it :)

    • @jameschristopher683
      @jameschristopher683 7 років тому

      I can almost understand their comments to a degree. But this guy no I can feel it more so not per note (as my favorite Michael Schenker does) but he puts in each run he does and man I can feel it, so much so I gave all my guitars to my dog!

      Phil At least you admit that. That’s good. I’ve personally never felt that way. The faster and more technical the better it is to me. Some people may think Andy’s playing is robotic but actually it’s the opposite. He’s a robot with emotion. Lol

    troll alert!!! Its MUSIC folks. not algebra. Very subjective...some people like it. Others don't. Some people would complain about Dream Theater songs being too long or Steve Vai sounding too lydian or Yngwie Malmsteen too diminished/phrygian dominant or Ron Thal has too many in between notes or Guthrie Govan bends too much or Paul Gilbert doing too much string skipping or Clapton outlining too many pentatonic boxes or Satriani using too much legato or country music having too many references to working all week, daisy dukes, trucks, recreational binge drinking and domestic abuse/infidelity... the list goes on. There's no pleasing some people. Bottom line: Andy is great at what he does. He makes a decent living at it. The world is still turning. If I could play like Andy, I would. Who wouldn't? You don't get a F-50 or Bugatti to creep through school zones. Let's get real, people.
