Great job! It is a beautiful city. We can also see a great disparity between certain neighbourhoods, for example, downtown versus the route near La Manufacture. Keep up the good work!

I was fortunate enough to visit La Piscine on European Night of Museums 2024. Free entry and plenty of staff on hand. Incredible place

I completely agree, a great place, indeed!
The fact that entry is free is also a big plus!

Did you try any Asian or Afro-Caribbean food there?

Unfortunately no, I'd originally meant to but then my plans changed. Are you looking for good / decent Asian/ Afro-Caribbean restaurants around the area : Lille, Roubaix etc?

Thanks for the reply. I'm thinking of moving to that kind of area and I'm wondering what the options are like. The French don't really do spice! It was encouraging seeing the African food shop in your video. I went to a great African food shop in Saint Nazaire, on the other side of the country.

@@galacticambitions1277 Ah, I see. Well, there are a few African/ Asian shops around. There are a couple in Valenciennes, Lille, Tourcoing, but sometimes there might just be one or two. And of course, if you go to bigger cities like Paris, there ate there in abundance.
I lived in Boulogne Sur Mer, and there was an African shop there, but just the one. But as for Asian ships, they are somewhat more common a bigger cites: mid size / large.

@@galacticambitions1277 I forgot to add, I buy my hot spices in Valenciennes at an African shop. There are about two African shops and one Asian one that I recall at the moment. They're in around the vicinity of the train station.

Thanks - great info. I had curry in Paris but it was very mild indeed. I'm from the UK so I'm used to spicy! I found a Chinese shop in Le Mans and there are some really good ones in Rennes. I went to a fantastic Chinese buffet in Laval. Thanks for this super useful info. It must be good to live by the sea. Maybe you get good seafood there too.
