Fantastic lesson. I really appreciate how clearly you set out the concept in terms of theory and then proceeded to apply the theory in so many practical and recognizable examples. Thank you so much!
Glad it was helpful!
Love the sound of this progression. I will need to watch the inner circle version of this a few times. Thanks Jamie
👌🏻
Great development for the channel, Jamie ! 👍
Thanks! 👍
Thanks Jamie - your explanation and connection of the bVII7 to IV 7 and iv min7 have cleared up a lot of confusion. The examples are hugely helpful too - I can go and listen to them in context.
👍🙏
Jamie, thank you so much for all the time and effort you put into your lessons. They are always so well articulated. Love the combination of written theory and the accompanying examples.
My pleasure!
This was THE best lesson on the topicJamie! Using pop and jazz examples was excellent!
Wicked. Thanks. 🙏🏻
Great stuff, Jamie! I Love your explanations by examples.
Thank you!
Thanks Jamie, somewhat challenging for me but that's why as your student your lessons are helping me to progress step by step. 🎷🎷🎷🎷🎷 For another excellent video lesson.
You can do it!
It is a very useful information, Mr Anderson, thank you so much!
Anytime.
Thanks, Jamie! Love this! Also, We are Family would be beautiful as a ballad
Love that!
Very helpful educational session!
Great!
Thanks Jamie. Great Video
Glad you enjoyed it
Great video Jamie
Thank you!
Uncle you are amazing.
Please do you also do gospel songs lessons
Not sure if I specifically do gospel song lessons, but there’s nothing technically unique about gospel music that doesn’t exist elsewhere in jazz etc?
🙏
Thank you.
You're welcome!
Hmm do we need another video about this topic ? 🤔🙄
Do we need comments like yours more like? 🤔🙄
Hi can you make some video about Balkan trills? 😊
Don’t know what they are?
very interesting, I do learn music theory, this is only a little over my head though
Cool.
is "backdoor" an officially recognised piece of musical-terminology or a name that you have created?
Yeh I’d say it’s pretty official. Especially in jazz theory. It’s not just me if that’s what you’re asking. ☺️
Wouldn't it be easier to say that Bb7 is a version of G-b9?
No, I don’t think so?
Well, all the notes of Bb7 are in Gminor flat9, but only three of them are in Fminor6, so it seems pretty plausible to me.

Lovely sound alright .. not a million miles away from leading note diminished approach ..
Yeh that’s true actually.
Got lost in the first 2 minutes. I've never taken any music theory, but have been playing for decades. Lack of understanding on my part as I don't have enough basic knowledge. Sorry, will need to find a "chords for dummies" to be able to converse.
