I have a 1995 SR 5 Tacoma with 489,299 miles on it! RUNS Like a Top! Very few issues over 28 years. I don't see many 1995 Ford, Chevys or Dodges these days!
I was 16 when this debuted and it became my dream truck. I always felt 4x4 was not needed, especially where I live. 4 years later, I was driving my own 2002 Tacoma Prerunner TRD. Ended up hating that thing. It was uncomfortable and the auto transmission was garbage, even after warranty replaced it. It ended up being a big disappointment for me. Took me another 20 years to find my perfect pickup, which ironically is all wheel drive and low ground clearance.
@@fakejeepman06 They don't what the F they're talking about. Those things were amazing. I have a 99 manual still to this day. Thing is amazing and everyone is always trying to buy it from me.
My 2003 V6 Pre-Runner runs like a dream, I have automatic transmission and its been my favorite all-around truck 🙌
Great video find...I've had my '98 since 2001.
Do you still have it and how many miles on her now?
A guy down the street from me has had a 2000 one of these since 2000.
my 03 trd 4x4 still runs great it is a joy to drive and after having it sense 2006 it still puts a smile on my face

I have a 2023 and I hope it’s the last truck I ever buy!

On a Toyota you'd expect the transmission would be flawless, was it a dud? 🤨
@@fakejeepman06 no. Toyota’s transmissions in their trucks always perform horribly… but they never break so 🤷🏽♂️
@@steeley6123 huh 🤔

@@grapestew I was about to say 🤣, transmission problems and Toyota doesn't exactly ring a bell in my head.
i have mine as the 2nd owner
They do a much better job on the frame of these trucks these days. Those old ones were too thin and rotted away fast if the owner wasn't vigilant.
Yall are kidding yourselves if you think 4x4 is unnecessary. Prerunner cope
After 270 thousand I can say it does not have 190 horsepower at all lmao
"How often do most of us really NEED all-wheel drive?"
*Laughs in Wisconsin*
My 98 tacoma 4x4 still runs like a clock in 2024
The most over-rated truck ever.... the Tacoma
