This is so amazing, you did a great job. And to improve range, lip slurs and holding out notes correct ? And if you have any tips by trying to learn by ear please tell me
Thank you!!! Yea, lip slurs and things like that will help to improve range :) When it comes to learning by ear, trial and error always helps. Like playing along with the recording of the song. You might hit a lot of wrong notes, but eventually you'll find the notes you're supposed to be playing lol. For me, I've found that knowing your scales and keys helps as well. One of the first things I'm doing when I'm trying to learn a song by ear is figuring out what key it's in. Once I have that down, everything else usually comes easier. Training your ear helps a lot as well. Like, for example, play a C on your trumpet. Then in your head imagine what the F above it will sound like. And then play the F. So you're learning how each note of the scale sounds in relation to the other notes of the scale. I've found that I can listen to a random song and without touching my trumpet I know what notes of the scale are being played sometimes.. I might not necessarily know what key it's in, but I can be like "Oh, that's the 4th note of the scale, going to the 3rd note of the scale", etc.

Thank you very much! I had to have the tune pitched a step lower I think, to help out on the very top end of the range, but other than that I wanted to keep it as close to the original key as I could :)

Hey, I got a question for you. Do you any good Trumpet models? I'm currently using a pre-owned Bach TR-500, and who knows how old it is. Im getting a new one next year (Hopefully), could you give me a suggestion?

Thanks so much :) I would love to give you a suggestion, but unfortunately I'm not a big trumpet model expert. I'm had a very limited selection of horns I've played over the years. I would try to find someone else who might know, or maybe see if there's some place in town that lets you try out different models. Sometimes one model works for someone and not for someone else. I'm sorry I can't be more helpful, but if I tried making a suggestion I would be trying to fake my knowledge of trumpet models lol

I started playing the trumpet a few months ago and I've just discovered your channel, you have a really lovely sound and I wish I had found these videos earlier. I've been looking on the internet and I can't seem to find the fingerings for any notes above a top c, do you have any suggestions? And again I think your tone is simply beautiful.

Yes, the one above the staff. Do you have fingerings you use for the higher notes?
I can't go a whole lot higher than that. I use 2nd valve for C#, open for D, 2nd for D#, open for E, and 1st for F.

which mouthpiece do you use? and what brand of your trumpet?
I use a Bach 3C megatone mouthpiece. In this video I used a Getzen 700 Eterna II trumpet.
You dropped the trumpet part one step? You are playing music written for a c instrument on a Bb trumpet without transposing it?
I editing the backing track so it was a whole step lower. So that made the melody a whole step lower. So I transposed in relation to the backing track, if that makes any sense.
Why it have to be the 1st trumpet part

Oh, and random story time: one time I was watching a guy play trumpet, and you could hear he had a lot of spit built up in his trumpet. I think it isn't perform the correct key :(
It's played in the right key, as in the key I'm playing in and the key the karaoke track is in are the same. But it isn't the same key as the original song from the soundtrack. I lowered the karaoke track a whole tone so I would have a bit of an easier time playing the choruses up an octave.
