I'm not 100% sure, but I believe the family's name is pronounced "Grove...ner" or "Grawv....ner". The "s" is silent.

At the very least you could have got the pronunciation of the name write, 'half of london' ridiculous and not true - mayfair and the west end maybe, half of london simply not true.

this is rubbish.. the GREAT London fire didn't reach West End was there was NO West ~End then as we know today.. the FIRE hit the ~~East ~End.. west of it was pasteurs & few stately homes like Buckingham House. it was a stroke of luck Mary Davies had her dowry of 300 acres..
