If you are a new player, you can try it out if you want so you can get to learn the mechs. Gold wise, probably no. And yes you can progress from solo raid alone, you get double mats plus you can exchange the token you get from doing the raids and exchanging them to the blue shop vendor on major cities for more mats. I do solo runs for the cards.

How much gold you get from this valtan solo mode?
I didn't get the gold because I unchecked it but if I did i would get 120 on G1 and 230 on G2 so total 350 gold only haha....
doing solo is probably not worth if your primary target is the gold
